The first anti-"tv ad dad" commercial I've seen!

Rather than portraying fathers as useless bumbling idiots (the typical "tv ad dad"), they are portraying fathers are responsible dependable co-parents.

This is good to see, but be cautious about the marketing behind it. The advert may have specifically touched on the themes it did, in the way it did, to take advantage of MRAs, as the Nestle marketing team know we will spread and post this good view of fatherhood.

Recently a similar marketing campaign has taken advantage of the feminist sympathy of "how hard it is for girls". It makes cheap points about gender and prejudice, with no originality or subtlety. Unsurprisingly "Like a girl", now has 40+ Million views on youtube, showing just how powerful piggybacking feminism is.

It would be unfortunate if the Men's Rights Movement was taken advantage of in such a similar way, so I urge us to be skeptical of adverts like this.

I think this is more a matter of unrealistic expectations for dads. Me, myself, I would have had a screaming atavistic fight-or-flight response at waking up to that.

Maybe I'm missing something (not being a dad and all), but this video seemed forced and somewhat cringeworthy. The fact that it's a commercial for Cheerios makes me wonder if this shouldn't be linked to /r/HailCorporate. Am I wrong? If so, please explain to me what this has to do with men's rights.
