Isn't the point of this sub to ask questions? No, I'm not looking for a specific answer (I just wanna know how you guys actually feel about male feminists). Are all of you this paranoid about every feminist being a journalist looking for a misogynistic quote? A quote like that wouldn't even do anything (since this sub's already known for being sexist).

[–]RPthrowaway1230 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Its considered sexist, but you'll notice that it is not sexist. You have not received a single answer that would indicate that. So please stop throwing that out there like it is a fact.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Of course you guys are sexist (notice that I made the weaker claim of being sexist, not being misogynistic). Don't you guys support slut shaming? Now don't pretend that you don't support any double standards.

[–]Blake553 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

I think they're "useful idiots", they provide validation for female feminists and perceive themselves as on some kind of higher moral ground. I can't help but think of the Elliot Rodger video where he refers to other men as 'obnoxious' and 'brutes', and sees himself as a superior option.

I think they're useful idiots to the rest of us because they dampen their own SMV by supplicating to women, and make a good contrast for people who aren't completely spineless. They almost always have an agenda tied into their views too, which isn't too hard to spot.

[+][deleted] -7 points-6 points-5 points 12 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

Don't you think Elliot Rodger is more similar to a typical anti-feminist than a male feminist? Just saying. What agenda do you think I have? I don't support feminism "to get laid" (if that's what you're implying).

[–]Blake553 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I only read the title... What you've written looks like a troll post. Do you think anyone here cares enough to find male feminists and debate them (or attack them like you implied? There isn't much talk here of male feminists leading to the collapse of society. People here generally think it's just a pretty meek outlook on life, and probably tied to some inferiority complex or lack of masculine role models.

I don't really hate anyone, people have their own interpretations of the world and act on it.

I mention Elliot Rodger because he looked down upon more 'masculine' men and thought that made him superior. His supplicating, and doing things to try and impress women left him feeling defeated and bitter. He was against PUA stuff, he thought it was manipulative and low-brow. I think that motive of trying to impress women is something that a lot of male feminists share. Trying to identify more with women than with men, in the hope of gaining their acceptance.

Yeah, no one says they support feminism "to get laid". Tell me though, why do you support it? Women have higher college graduation rates, longer life expectancy, lower jail-time for identical crimes, advantages in child-custody, more reproductive rights, less than 10% of workplace deaths, more social support (glass floor). Seems like in terms of legislature and social outcomes, men are actually trailing.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No, I'm not trying to "troll" anti-feminists to get them mad or something. I genuinely wanna know if you feel actual anger towards me just for being a male feminist. Yes, we have problems too but feminism is about helping men, too. Have you heard of "The Mask You Live In"? Feminists want to get rid of gender roles for both men and women.

[–]Blake552 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I don't feel any anger. I don't know you at all. I don't feel like you're pushing other men under the bus or anything, you're just doing what makes sense to you. You've shared an opinion on things, and you've engaged in conversation about it. I think you've come here with the wrong impression of most TRP posters - that we are hateful, extremist, and confrontational. Do you feel any anger towards us?

I think traditional gender roles can be a good thing, they promote stability and teamwork.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

No, I don't feel any anger towards anti-feminists (that's one of the reasons why I'm asking this question). Well, I'm completely against traditional gender roles - but let's agree to disagree on that. BTW, since I'm trying to make society more "feminist", don't you feel like I'm pushing other men under the bus in some way?

[–]boydeer-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

a primary tenet of TRP is that every man must be responsible for himself. any time i spent under the bus is time i chose to spend there. if your life is good as a male feminist, then good. if you're under the bus because you've been convinced that is where you belong, that's your prerogative.

[–]boydeer0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Elliot Rodger was a guy with a mental health condition. he wasn't similar to the red pill in that we advise "change yourself, don't wish the world would change"

the red pill believes that there are positive aspects of masculininty and femininity. i don't think Rodger thought that at all.

[–][deleted] -5 points-4 points-3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I know that Elliot Rodger wasn't part of the red pill (I was just making the point that he's nothing like a male feminist). BTW, what's so important about having a high "SMV", anyway?

[–]boydeer-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

i think OP was likening him to male feminists in that he has disdain for powerful masculinity.

if having a high SMV isn't important to you, it's not important. a subsection of red pill is MGTOW (Men Going Their Own Way), who basically believe it's just not worth it. you could have a similar belief about money or family. high SMV gives you power to act, and therefore it's desirable.

[–]through_a_ways0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Don't you think Elliot Rodger is more similar to a typical anti-feminist than a male feminist?

Elliot Rodger was an egotist. He was not an MRA, and not a redpiller.

He hated other men more than he hated women for rejecting him. He was just a psychologically ill weirdo who serves as another useful idiot to associate MRAs and the like with.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I know that Elliot Rodger wasn't an MRA or redpiller (I never said he was). But don't you think he's more similar to the average anti-feminist than the average male feminist?

[–]through_a_ways-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, I do not think that.

[–]RPthrowaway123-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

No way. He put the pussy on a pedestal and it frustrated him to the point where he committed the acts he did. As a matter of fact, more men died by his hand than women. Not that anyone would ever talk about that outside this sub.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Since Elliot Rodger actually was an anti-feminist, how is he not more similar to a typical anti-feminist than a male feminist?

[–]RPthrowaway123-1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No. He was not an anti feminist as evidenced by his behavior towards women and his hatred of men who could pick up women by being jerks.

[–]joe_bruised_ego6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (41 children) | Copy Link

I don’t think anyone here is against gender equality laws. We do generally think that feminism has gone too far the other way though- advocating for female supremacy rather than gender equality.

We also think feminists lie about how you’re supposed to treat a woman to get them to fuck you. You have to treat them like dirt- like they’re beneath you. They love it. Treat them mean, keep them keen, etc.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (40 children) | Copy Link

I think feminism hasn't gone far enough (but we'll obviously disagree on that). Well, I agree that women prefer "bad boys" for sex but what if sex isn't the only thing you want? What if you love a woman and want to marry her? If I had put on a "bad boy" act, I know my wife would never have married me.

[–]joe_bruised_ego2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (26 children) | Copy Link

In what ways hasn’t it gone far enough? I can think of one right women generally don’t have that men do (the ban on women’s chests) This is a problem, but men have no right to bodily autonomy with regard to genital mutilation, no right to choose if they’re a parent, are disproportionately locked away for the same crimes- where their rape in prison is par for the course. And you thought Robin Thicke’s mediocre pop was “rape culture”. Hitting a man is no big deal- in fact; most laws dealing with domestic violence minimise or erase male victims of it. Women are even more protected from abuse than children- who they disproportionately abuse. If a woman forces a man to have sex it isn’t legally recognised as rape, etc. In the US men are required to sign up for selective service to earn their right to vote.

But I can hear your response already “it’s the patriarchy!” Seeing as how feminists have routinely fought against extending these rights to men, is feminism part of patriarchy? As someone who was raised in a bug nutty religious household- the idea of a poorly defined all-present invisible entity, who wants me to feel bad for my normal human urges isn’t at all unfamiliar. The only difference is Christianity told me my toys were evil because they were satanic. You guys tell little girls their toys are evil because they are pink.

You complain about the gender wage gap- manipulated statistics which do not take into account things like childbirth, different interests, and the fact that, thanks to feminist maternity laws, hiring women is more of a liability. Almost every “feminist” who I’ve met who has complained about the wage gap has, once asked how she would like to live in a world where there wasn’t one (women doing the same dangerous jobs, women only being the stay at home parent half the time, dating someone who doesn’t make as much money as you) they never seem to be too keen on the idea itself.

If the wage gap were as prevalent as people say it is, and you can pay a woman who will do just the same job just as well 70% as much- why don’t companies just hire women and put the competition right out of business?

Feminism seems to be of the opinion that women are broken men- and are only this way because of patriarchy. Some extreme feminists even assert that women are only physically smaller than men because we feed them less. I can’t think of anything more misogynist than telling women to stop acting like women, and instead imitate all the worst behaviours of men.

[–][deleted] -5 points-4 points-3 points 12 years ago (25 children) | Copy Link

Do you have any evidence that feminists have fought against those things? And what "worst behaviors" of men are you talking about?

[–]joe_bruised_ego1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

There’s the Violence Against Women Act, which erases male victims of domestic abuse- or declares them rare enough to be practically non-existent. Erin Pizzey, who was a feminist who opened up the first battered women’s shelter, and had death threats and her pet murdered for the suggestion that they include men.

The various feminist articles which say that male circumcision is no big deal, and those against it are just whiny babies. Or the feminists who openly say that women can’t rape. I have eve been told, repeatedly, that as a man innocent of rape, I’m not quite as innocent as women innocent of rape.

There’s the on-going hostility toward MRA groups, and the insistence that men’s rights not be dealt with while women “have it worse”. Whenever we bring up that a problem effects men too/worse, we get a call of “what about the menz!”

[–][deleted] -4 points-3 points-2 points 12 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link

Well, on some issues, men are whiny babies lol (like the whole men's rights sub). Anyways, what "worst behaviors" of men were you referring to?

[–]joe_bruised_ego1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

So, after I sent you a list of rights men don’t have, and have asked for what rights women don’t have, and you didn’t respond, men asking for their rights are just “whiny babies”

I’m talking about the assertive, social dominant behaviour we advocate that men practice on this sub. It’s considered “bad behaviour” for men to act this way, but with women it’s “you go girl!”

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

Can you give an example of assertive, social dominant behavior (for both men and women)?

[–]joe_bruised_ego3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

Taking the lead/setting the tone in romantic relationships.

You said your wife wouldn’t have married you if you pretended to be a “bad boy” (whatever that means, can you give examples of a "bad boy"- see I can do it too) how old was she? Did she fuck “bad boys” in her past and grow out of it?

If she had the chance to, would she jump back on that “bad boy” dick? Or would she remain faithful to you- her supplicating doormat, who will forgive her infidelity anyway?

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Don't you guys use the phrase "alpha male"? That's what I mean by a "bad boy". Yeah, my wife fucked lots of bad boys in her past (something that turns me on) but she eventually married me. BTW, I know what you're getting at but that type of stuff actually turns me on (read this post). So, I'd love it if my wife didn't remain faithful to me and jumped back on that "bad boy dick" (and I'd be her doormat who forgives her infidelity). That brings me to another question - do you think there's anything wrong with men who have a cuckold fetish?

[–]joe_bruised_ego1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Most men don’t want to settle for a woman who is only settling for them.

Cuckold fetishes are like rape fantasies- they’re meant to take place in a safe space. Ie: she’s not really being unfaithful. What you are describing is actually being a cuckold- actually having someone in your life that will disregard your feelings and betray you.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Yeah, I know I don't have a typical cuckold fantasy (I want my wife to actually disregard my feelings and betray me by being unfaithful). So, you think there's something wrong with my fantasy but not with typical cuckold fantasies?

[–]joe_bruised_ego1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I know a lot of people here say there’s something wrong with that particular kink- but they’ll also tout the wisdom of Patrice O’Niel- who did enjoy watching his women with other men- so there’s definitely room for disagreement.

What you do in your bedroom is your own business. I would be concerned about your mental wellbeing if this is the case. I’m sure you also realise you are in the tiny minority with your desires- and are almost proving the ideas in this sub. If you want to be a doormat, that’s fine. Almost no women want one, and almost no men want to be one.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Yes, I know men like me are in the minority but why do you think that means there could be something wrong with our mental wellbeing? It's just a fetish (everyone's different). Well, I agree that almost no women want a doormat for sex but don't you think it's the opposite for marriage? In my experience, a "doormat" is the type of man almost all women want to marry.

[–]joe_bruised_ego1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

As previously stated- wanting someone to actually betray you goes beyond just a fetish. Ask anyone in the BDSM community- it has to be safe, sane and consensual- which it doesn’t really seem to be in your case.

What women say they want and what they actually go for are two different things. What makes you think she won’t leave you for one of her bulls?

[–][deleted]0 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It might be an "extreme" fetish but it's still a fetish. Well, I'm personally not a fan of the BDSM community with their "safe, sane and consensual" motto (real domination turns me on - not role playing). BTW, "bull" isn't the right word (that's only when the husband's okay with his wife having sex with the other man). But let me address your point. If my wife ever cheats, why do you think she would leave me for the other man? She would only cheat for the better sex. Like I said, in my experience, women prefer "betas" like me for marriage. So, I'd still be the only man who loves her and listens to all her problems. Why would she leave me?

[–]joe_bruised_ego1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Because she’s not attracted to you, doesn’t love you, doesn’t view you as a man, etc.

Men can sleep with other women but still come back to their main girl- but when women cheat, it’s almost always with a view to move up.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

My wife not being as sexually attracted to me as she is to another man is the point (the same goes for viewing me as less of a man compared to him). But why do you think she wouldn't love me anymore if she cheated? Love has nothing to do with cheating. Again, my fetish is about my wife cheating on me to "move up" in terms of better sex. But do you really think an "alpha male" makes a good husband? I might not be the best sex partner but I consider myself to be a great husband. Do you understand that sex and love are different?

[–]joe_bruised_ego1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Well, let me know how this turns out for you.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I have no idea if my wife will ever cheat on me (I just hope she does). My point was that if she does, there's no reason to think she won't love me anymore. So, why did you bring that up? I doubt I just changed your mind so there must be a reason why you think cheating has more to do with love (I think it has more to do with sex). Anyways, do you agree with me that "beta males" like me make great husbands but bad sex partners and "alpha males" make great sex partners but bad husbands?

[–]joe_bruised_ego1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Of course you think cheating has more to do with sex than with love. You’re a man.

Why would she love you? How could she be satisfied with you on an emotional level when you are so deeply dishonest with her all the time, and she basically needs to take charge in the relationship?

Beta males don’t make “better husbands” – they leave women unsatisfied and are poor role models. The reason they might think they’re better husbands is because they are the best a post-wall slut will be able to settle for.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I was specifically talking about women (I think cheating has more to do with sex than with love for women). Why do you think I'm dishonest with my wife? Well, she doesn't "need" to take charge in the relationship (she chooses to take charge in the relationship and I personally believe the woman should always be in charge). Again, I agree that beta males like me leave women sexually unsatisfied. That's why I said that alpha males (I'm assuming you're one) make better sex partners. But don't you think that for loving, cherishing, and being committed to a woman, we make better husbands? Yeah, my wife's a slut (something I love about her) but what in the world does "post-wall" mean?

[–]RPthrowaway1230 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Excuse me, but isn't feminism women being "whiny babies"? How about not insulting the men here if you want answers.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Do you really think we're oppressed in modern society?

[–]RPthrowaway1231 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Take one look at divorce laws if you want to see how men are treated. We're not oppressed, we're expendable. Nobody cares that boko harem killed hundreds of boys before they attacked that school. They kill a few girls and suddenly the whole world is up in arms. The fact of the matter is that as far as society is concerned, men don't matter all that much.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yes, we have our own problems but again, feminism is trying to fix those, too. Anyways, what were those "worst behaviors" of men you were talking about? You still haven't answered that.

[–]boydeer3 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

what evidence can you provide that feminism is trying to fix those problems?

[–]RPthrowaway1231 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I agree with boydeer. How does the new way of handling rape on college campuses help, for example? All I see is men having their lives ruined at even the slightest accusation - the burden of proof is on the accused, instead of where it should be on the accuser.

[–]boydeer2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

the too far/not far enough thing is hard to talk about, because in what way do you mean? women who make the same choices as men get paid the same, by and large.

feminism has started to focus on sources of female discomfort, and there has never been a guarantee of comfort for men. in fact, society has historically been much more apt to provide comfort for women, even when equality was not a thing.

our concern with a lot of long-term relationships is that while women are taught to be suspicious of men, it's taboo to teach men to be suspicious of women. enough women are predatory in the realm of sexuality that men who go into marriage based on a trust of the woman run a fairly high chance of being taken for a ride.

furthermore, accepted relational truths serve the woman. in a marriage, the man has the contractual duties, and feminism has eroded all of the female contractual duties. if you have a good wife, then this isn't too much of a deal. but you're still entering into an unfair contract with someone whom society will support almost no matter what their behavior.

the red pill states that men are attracted to certain things, and women are attracted to certain things on an animalistic level without exception. feminism presents an 'ideal' world, which will never be true. it is possible to override that animalistic drive, which feminism encourages men to do. however, feminism forbids discussing the animalistic drive of women, which means that when you marry a woman, you are very much at the mercy of an unexamined biological function.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

What do you mean by enough women being "predatory in the realm of sexuality"? And if the red pill states that men and women are attracted to certain things without exception, don't you see the problem with that? I mean, just one exception disproves that (and there's lots of exceptions).

[–]boydeer0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

What do you mean by enough women being "predatory in the realm of sexuality"?

women use sex dishonestly to get what they want.

And if the red pill states that men and women are attracted to certain things without exception, don't you see the problem with that?

men have certain biological drives that are consistent across all healthy young men. women have certain biological drives that are consistent across all healthy young women. there are mitigating factors in social conditioning, and the expression of these biological drives changes, but the biological drive is there in everyone.

do you disagree with this?

i mean, it's perfectly socially acceptable to tell a woman that a man just wants her for sex when he invites her over to his place, but it's taboo to tell a man that the woman who accepts the invitation is running some sort of game as well.

Can you give an example of women using sex dishonestly to get what they want? What does it even mean to use sex "dishonestly"? BTW, by an exception, I was referring to me being attracted to "dominant" women (something I'm assuming you think men shouldn't be naturally attracted to).

[–]boydeer0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

BTW, by an exception, I was referring to me being attracted to "dominant" women (something I'm assuming you think men shouldn't be naturally attracted to).

this is not what i'm talking about, so your exception is an exception to a claim i didn't make. a TRP observation is that most men want submissive women, but this isn't presented as a law.

Can you give an example of women using sex dishonestly to get what they want?

a woman using sexual suggestion to keep receiving attention from an oribiter is one example. i have even pointed it out to women and suggested they cut the poor fucker loose, but they continued their behavior and continued receiving attention for the false promise of sex.

flirting with a guy at a bar until he buys her a drink is another example, though to me at least it's in a venue where the guy can expect that sort of behavior.

another example is the common trope of sex stopping after marriage. once the contract is signed, then the woman can use sex as a tool to control the husband and have plausible deniability as to why she is doing it. not all women do this, but it's common enough that i would be surprised if you were not aware of it.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Now you're saying it isn't presented as a law but didn't you write "without exception" before? Well, that's happened to me but do you think it should be illegal or something? Yes, women use their sexual power to their benefit but if they can, why shouldn't they?

[–]boydeer0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

i am talking about the underlying biological drives we have. for example, everyone feels hunger; not everyone will steal food from their roommates if they're hungry at 4am. the former is a law which would could state as:

"all healthy humans experience hunger"

the latter is not a law. there are exceptions.

Yes, women use their sexual power to their benefit but if they can, why shouldn't they?

power itself is amoral. any ethical system you construct governing the use of power is going to eventually rely on certain opinions. the generally accepted belief in TRP isn't that women shouldn't use power to benefit themselves, it's that they do.

that being said, if a man had access to food and his wife was hungry, i think it would be immoral for him to withhold food as a means of negotiating something he wanted. withholding sex is not as urgent as withholding food, but it's still restricting a biological need for affection to negotiate power in what is supposedly a partnership. i think any woman who does this is pretty twisted.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Don't you think that you "red pillers" underestimate the number of exceptions? Seems like more men are marrying "dominant" women nowadays (like Jay-Z) and it seems like eventually, it'll become the norm. Well, I wasn't talking about withholding sex (I was talking about your example in which a woman flirts with a guy at a bar until he buys her a drink). What's wrong with that? That's happened to me but I didn't complain about how women "use sex dishonestly".

[–]boydeer1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Don't you think that you "red pillers" underestimate the number of exceptions?

there are zero exceptions to the law that all healthy humans experience hunger.

Seems like more men are marrying "dominant" women nowadays (like Jay-Z) and it seems like eventually, it'll become the norm.

obviously, there is no way to accurately assess "power" or "dominance" in a relationship none of us know anything about, but jay-z's net worth is higher than beyonce's, and he built his empire on his own merits. he is an incredibly powerful man. when beyonce marries me, you might have a point.

That's happened to me but I didn't complain about how women "use sex dishonestly".

it's not a complaint, it's advice given to men so they can understand how to operate in the world. just like you might advise a young girl that a guy who is trying to get her to go to his house is just trying to have sex with her, we are advising other men on the realities of the world.

we are not saying the world should be a different way. we are saying that it is a certain way, and we are describing to the best of our ability what we observe.

[–][deleted]0 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I meant the exceptions for men being attracted to dominant women. Yes, Jay-Z might be an alpha male but my point still stands (Beyonce's definitely a dominant woman). BTW, why do you think girls have to be told that a guy trying to get her to go to his house is trying to have sex with her? Don't you think she would already know that?

[–]boydeer1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I meant the exceptions for men being attracted to dominant women.

i think you can be pretty sure that most of these things follow a normal distribution, with about 2/3 being within what most people would consider "average". i doubt red pillers would argue with this.

what is "normal" might change, sure. i have opinions about things. you have opinions about things. if i had to bet, i would bet on my opinions being right.

(Beyonce's definitely a dominant woman).

in their relationship? how do you know? even so, this is an example of a relationship, not 2/3 or even 1/3 of the population. we don't know if their relationship is successful. we don't know if beyonce or jay-z fuck other people.

BTW, why do you think girls have to be told that a guy trying to get her to go to his house is trying to have sex with her? Don't you think she would already know that?

she would already know this because it's part of the cultural dialog. it's something "everybody knows" because it's been talked about enough. regardless, if you haven't been in the presence of a woman receiving advice about a guy only wanting her for sex, then i don't know how many people you've actually spent time with.

the reason we give advice to men here is that the advice seems to be needed. there is cultural mythology that women are good and pure, which is not good for culture. the idea here is to honestly discuss male and female behavior as best we can, and come up with functional advice as best we can.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Did you see Beyonce's performance at the 2014 Grammys? Jay-Z was onstage with her too and it's obvious who's the more "dominant" one in their marriage (if one of them fucks other people, it's definitely her). Who says that all women are good and pure? I've never heard anyone say that.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (62 children) | Copy Link

I'm what you would consider the "enemy"

Sorry, that alone shows that you just don't get it. TRP isn't a movement like feminism, conservatism, Marxism, etc... There isn't some supposed end goal, or ploy for political gain. TRP is a methodology. It encompasses a myriad of subjects; ranging from self-improvement, to dropping off the grid, to relationship advice. It's a methodology to explain particular behavior and how to adapt to it to achieve particular goals (which are dependent on the individual) such as picking up women (for anything from a 1 night stand to a long-term relationship) or being happier in one's career, or how to best go MGTOW.

So, to answer your first point; No, you aren't TRP's enemy. Any beef I personally have with feminism is because of other reasons (political, ideological, philosophical, moral), which may or may not also be backed up by TRP, but TRP isn't inherently anti-feminist.

(I'm a male feminist and I support pretty much everything you guys are against).

I'm wondering if you really know what TRP is "for" and "against". (Protip: TRP is amoral and doesn't advocate any particular morality. It's only a methodology much like the quadratic equation or scientific method.)

Do you hate me for that?

I don't hate anyone for their beliefs, no matter how much I disagree with them. I hate people for the shit that matters, particularly their actions.

For example, if you saw me on the street, would you do anything to me?

If I saw you on the street, I probably wouldn't know it. But no, if I saw some random male feminist on the street and somehow knew he was one, I couldn't care less.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (61 children) | Copy Link

TRP isn't inherently anti-feminist? Do you at least admit that returnofkings.com is inherently anti-feminist? That's how I first learned about this "red pill" thing (they're definitely anti-feminist).

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (60 children) | Copy Link

TRP isn't inherently anti-feminist? Do you at least admit that returnofkings.com is inherently anti-feminist?

Once again, this shows that you don't get it. Just because people are anti-feminist doesn't make the methodology/ideology anti-feminist. If that were the case, Valerie Solanas and Andrea Dworkin would represent feminism and make the entire movement anti-men. Of course, we can both agree that equivocations are bullshit.

These people may be anti-feminist, but that doesn't mean TRP is anti-feminist. That's like saying science is anti-geocentrism. Science doesn't give a shit one way or another, it's a methodology.

That's how I first learned about this "red pill" thing (they're definitely anti-feminist).

Your lack of understanding doesn't mean that we're all culpable for something you find distasteful.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (59 children) | Copy Link

Why are you personally against feminism? Just wondering.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (58 children) | Copy Link

It depends on how you're defining feminism and the particular issue. For example, I don't believe in positive rights or state intervention, both of which many (most?) feminists seem to vehemently believe in.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (57 children) | Copy Link

Can you give an example of something specific that you disagree with feminists on?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (56 children) | Copy Link

I know where this game goes (Not all feminists believe that!) But what the hell, I'll play.

I don't think that anyone should have an obligation to pay for the reproductive health of another person, particularly when that reproductive health is generally the product of the individual's choices.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (55 children) | Copy Link

Isn't that just a political disagreement you have with liberals? That's not specific to feminism.

[–]noblepaladin 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago* (13 children) | Copy Link

If you strip all politics out of feminism, what is left? TRP makes observations, such as most men seem to prefer younger women. Or men who are good looking, wealthy, have power/status have more success with women. Divorce rates are far higher with single parents or people who have divorced before. People with a large number of sexual partners are less likely to commit to a relationship. People don't disagree with these face, but people seem to be very angry that we are acting upon these correlations. For example, I may choose not to date single mothers under the rationale that it would decrease the probability of a divorce in the future.

Where TRP differs from feminism is that feminism is an ideal. Feminists often state beliefs like "Women should feel safe walking down the street". Okay, sure. It is a statement of an idea. In order for that idea to become a reality, it typically requires politics. For example, many feminists are pushing colleges to reduce standards necessary to expel men who are accused of sexual assault. Feminism is a movement that is highly intertwined with politics.

TRP on the other hand is not a movement. We do not recruit. The actual policy is to not talk about it outside of the forum and not brigade other forums with discussions and ideas talked about here. We have no agenda. Some individual members might, we have no control over what individuals do or think. But in general, TRP just observes. We list what we observe, and recognize that you can apply basic probability such as Bayes rule to make better decisions. A lot of people were upset when Moneyball strategies were brought into sports. We are bringing it into the dating game.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Even if it's true that most men prefer younger women, do you acknowledge that some men prefer older women (and that there's nothing wrong with that)? My wife's older than me (and has had a large number of sexual partners) and that might be a turn off to most of the men here but it's a turn on to me. So, I get that you "red pillers" have your own preferences (and there's nothing wrong with that) but I've read articles basically shaming men like me who don't want a "submissive" woman.

[–]niczar2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

do you acknowledge that some men prefer older women

Is it true that most people don't like to eat shit? How do you explain this?

[–][deleted]0 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Approximately what percentage of men do you think prefer older, "dominant" women? Seems like you guys think it's like 1% (but I think it's a much higher number).

[–]niczar2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Whether it's 1% or 10% makes little difference. It's similar to homosexuality. I.e. not typical.

[–][deleted]0 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

My original question was about articles shaming men like me who don't want a "submissive" woman. Do you agree with me that it's wrong to shame men for having preferences that aren't typical?

[–]niczar3 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I don't give a fuck, honestly nobody here gives a fuck, but I find your need for validation quite disturbing. You do what the fuck you want, just don't ask me to tell you it's ok.

[–][deleted]-1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

If I shamed men like you who prefer "submissive" women, would you also not care at all?

[–]boydeer2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

nobody cares. there is plenty of shame lobbed at redpillers and by and large we handle it pretty okay.

[–]niczar2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Yeah, it's quite amusing that anyone would believe we'd be ashamed of our opinions when the SJW circlejerk is trying to shame us non stop.

[–]niczar1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You've got me completely wrong. It's not particularly my preference. It's just that I know for a fact that an overwhelming majority of women prefer to be dominated. I have to play up my dominance to get laid. I mean to get laid with women I find attractive, as opposed to fatsos.

And more importantly, if there's something I really don't give a fuck about, something I care even less than passing moral judgement on other people, is how other people judge my opinions. I wouldn't be posting here if I did.

[–]noblepaladin1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Sure there are some men who like older women. Personally, I think it would be cool if I could be a stay at home dad and simply marry a good looking, rich woman and let her do all the work. But realistically, if I were to pursue that strategy, I would probably be single forever because the majority of women choose not to "date down". It doesn't mean that it never works, it is just sub-optimal. Since I am not born with the face of a male model and I am not a white male, I have to be realistic about how far my looks will carry me.

By working hard on both my body and my career, as well as other "alpha" traits, I can greatly increase the number of women that would consider me a suitable mate. Sure, I can try the blue pill strategy of not doing anything, hoping that a good looking dominant woman will choose me and I can be a stay at home dad. But that is like a lottery ticket because if it doesn't happen I would have nothing. From my point of view, if I want to have family and kids in the future, it makes sense to choose the strategy with the best odds, which is the red pill strategy.

It is similar to investors and gamblers/speculators. Investors make favorable bets where the odds are in their favor, whereas gamblers and speculators make bets that against their favor. A lot of gamblers and speculators win money. It is suboptimal, but it occasionally works. Most investors don't care about what the gamblers are doing. Occasionally you will have one investor make a rant about how idiotic gamblers are. It sounds like you read a blog or something where some guy who associates with TRP made a rant about submissive men. But the vast majority of people who practice TRP do not care what other people are doing. They only care about improving their own chances of winning in life.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Do you have any evidence that the majority of women choose not to date down? And do you have any evidence that when a woman does choose to date down, it's somehow "sub-optimal"? My wife dated down but what I call a "female-led marriage" is just what works best for us. Again, I've gotten most of my information about "the red pill" from returnofkings.com.

[–]gg_s1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

My wife dated down

You have absolutely no self-worth if you believe this to be true.

what works best for us

People with low self-worth are extremely conflict avoidant. Relinquishing control to your wife "works best" for you because it is the path of least resistance. It enables you to avoid having to deal with your disorder and has nothing to do with the health of your marriage.

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't the crux of Sandra Fluke's argument based in feminist ideology?

Edit: Plus this is where feminism intersects with politics.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (39 children) | Copy Link

What's your point? BTW, are you one of those people who think of Sandra Fluke as a "slut"?

[–][deleted]2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

/u/noblepaladin made my point better than I could.

BTW, are you one of those people who think of Sandra Fluke as a "slut"?

If I were, why does it matter?

PROTIP: I don't know, or care about her sexual activities.

[–][deleted]-1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It matters cause then you would be a slut shamer. Don't you think there's anything wrong with slut shaming?

[–][deleted]2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It matters cause then you would be a slut shamer.

And?

Don't you think there's anything wrong with slut shaming?

Wrong in what sense?

[–][deleted]-1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Wrong in that it's a sexist double standard. So, do you think it's wrong or not?

[–][deleted]2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Wrong in that it's a sexist double standard.

It's a double standard borne from innate differences, just like there's a double standard for getting particular jobs based on physical requirements.

So, do you think it's wrong or not?

I think double standards can be "wrong" depending on particular goals, but if you mean wrong in the moral sense, then no. I'm a moral nihilist.

[–][deleted]0 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

So, you think it's justified that women are slut shamed for having one-night stands but we aren't? What innate differences do you think justifies that?

[–][deleted]2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I don't care one way or another, thanks for trying to put words in my mouth though.

[–][deleted]0 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

[–][deleted]2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You specifically said that slut shaming is a double standard borne from innate differences

And you said that "I" personally think it's OK, so you're equivocating.

What innate differences are you talking about?

Well, let's play that game then. Women have higher risks associated with sex, with or without birth control. There is also correlation between divorce rates and number of previous partners. Plus pre-selection theory from TRP works -- whether it's right or not.

[–][deleted]-1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Those risks don't count if we're talking about anal or oral sex. Where's your evidence that there's a correlation between divorce rates and number of previous partners? My wife's had lots of sexual partners but I know we'll never get divorced (her "slutty past" is something that actually enhances our sex life).

[–][deleted]2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Those risks don't count if we're talking about anal or oral sex.

And? So far I've been saying sex.

Where's your evidence that there's a correlation between divorce rates and number of previous partners?

http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1741-3737.2003.00444.x/abstract

My wife's had lots of sexual partners but I know we'll never get divorced (her "slutty past" is something that actually enhances our sex life).

Super awesome anecdote. Also, it must be awesome to be able to see the future.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Women get slut shamed for anal and oral sex, too. Well, even if that correlation has a lot of research behind it, how exactly would my wife's slutty past lead to her divorcing me? I mean, what's the logic behind it? Like I said, it only enhances our marriage.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Women get slut shamed for anal and oral sex, too.

OK

Well, even if that correlation has a lot of research behind it, how exactly would my wife's slutty past lead to her divorcing me?

Why are you making this about you now? You're not the center of the universe. I pointed out a correlation because you asked about differences.

I mean, what's the logic behind it?

There's plenty of theories thrown around in TRP sub, if you're that interested (I'm sure you're not because it's obvious you're just a troll) you should check them out.

Like I said, it only enhances our marriage.

Good for you? Maybe you lucked out and found someone who's not a statistic. Or maybe it just hasn't happened yet. It doesn't matter either way. Your anecdotes are just that, and as far as I'm concerned, unimportant.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It doesn't have to be about me (consider any other married couple). How would the wife's slutty past lead to her being more likely to divorce him? Again, I'm not some troll journalist looking for a misogynistic quote for my hit piece (I'm asking questions cause I wanna know what you guys really think). So yes, I'm interested - what are those theories?

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Maybe you should ask the wives since they're the ones initiating the divorce? But since I'm just guessing, maybe she wants to hop back on the carousel since she's scored beta bux, or maybe multiple partners make it more difficult for them to form lasting relationships? Perhaps women with multiple partners have a propensity to come from broken homes which makes it much more difficult to form healthy relationships? It could be a combination of a bajillion reasons. I don't know and the "why" doesn't interest me. So, like I said earlier, if you're as interested as you say you are, go check out TRP. Here, I'll even help you. This is where I saw the link I gave you. There's some spit-balling and theorizing in there.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I'll check that link out. BTW, what exactly is the "carousel"? And what exactly is "beta bux"? I've seen both of those terms before.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Go to TRP and read the sidebar. There's an explanation of most theories along with a glossary with definitions for the majority of terms used in the sub.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I didn't find the term "beta bux" but the cock carousel is basically a woman having sex with as many "alphas" as possible when she's young, right? Well, you claimed that could lead to a woman getting divorced but wouldn't it be better for her to cheat on her husband? I know my wife had sex with lots of alpha males when she was single (something that turns me on) and it would turn me on even more if she cheats (just a fetish I have).

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I don't get what point you're trying to make. The stats show that women who have had more partners are more likely to get a divorce, the why, for me, is inconsequential. Or are you just trying to rationalize your choices with someone who doesn't care?

[–][deleted]0 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

My point was that it doesn't apply for my marriage. Do you admit that it doesn't apply for certain marriages? If so, why be overly paranoid and avoid marrying any woman with a slutty past? What if women avoided you just cause of some statistic about red pillers?

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

My point was that it doesn't apply for my marriage.

And I told you that not everything is about you, no matter how hard you try to make it so. Please stop trying to rationalize your risky choices, I don't care how many guys your statistically unimportant wife has been with or how much you get off from it.

Do you admit that it doesn't apply for certain marriages?

Of course, that's what statistics are. Do you admit that it does? You do understand the expression "The exception proves the rule." do you not?

If so, why be overly paranoid and avoid marrying any woman with a slutty past?

Because I'd rather have numbers on my side. It's not about being paranoid, it's about reducing my chances of getting screwed. I avoid women who sleep around (I love how you use the word slut more than most RPers, slut shaming much?) for the same reasons I don't gamble, play Russian Roulette, or stick my head in a crocodile's mouth: the risks outweigh the gains.

What if women avoided you just cause of some statistic about red pillers?

Then they very well may be making a rational decision...depending on the statistic and their goals.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I'm talking about your choices, not mine. Well, I consider "slut" to be a compliment for a woman (my wife's definitely a slut and that's what I love about her). No, my point was that there's ways to mitigate the risk if you marry a woman who slept around a lot. Do you agree with that?

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I'm talking about your choices, not mine.

Really? Could've fooled me.

Well, I consider "slut" to be a compliment for a woman (my wife's definitely a slut and that's what I love about her)

Ah, so because you consider it a compliment, it's no longer shaming. I love the hamster logic.

No, my point was that there's ways to mitigate the risk if you marry a woman who slept around a lot. Do you agree with that?

Sure, there's ways to mitigate most forms of risk, but there's always a cost involved there. Costs I don't find worthwhile.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I mean the point I'm trying to make is about your choice to not marry a woman with a slutty past. So, you don't think the word "slut" can be reclaimed? That's a big part of what SlutWalk is about (but you're probably against that too). Well, are you fine with an open marriage? If you are, there wouldn't be any costs involved (your wife wouldn't be any more likely to divorce you).

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I mean the point I'm trying to make is about your choice to not marry a woman with a slutty past.

It doesn't seem like you're trying to make a point, no matter how much you say otherwise.

So, you don't think the word "slut" can be reclaimed?

Sure, words change over time. I just find it funny that because you're using it, it's somehow not shaming because; feelings.

That's a big part of what SlutWalk is about (but you're probably against that too).

Wow, you really aren't paying attention are you? I couldn't care less about slut walks one way or another. I don't care what other people do unless it directly affects me. You wanna be a cuckold? Go for it! You wanna spin the hamster and deny statistics because of your snowflake wife? More power to you. It doesn't matter to me one bit.

That's what TRP is about. Maximizing my happiness. Accomplishing the goals I want to accomplish.

Well, are you fine with an open marriage?

What do you mean by "fine with"? I would not be OK participating in an open marriage. If you mean am I OK with other people having them, then just look at my last response.

If you are, there wouldn't be any costs involved (your wife wouldn't be any more likely to divorce you).

I'm not. Please stop rationalizing your preferences.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Slut shaming is only about using the word to shame. So, it's more accurate to call the way I use it "slut praising". BTW, you consider yourself to be an "alpha male", right? So, you wouldn't even have to worry about your wife wanting to have sex with an alpha male (cause she would already have you for a sex partner). So, why do you avoid marrying women with a slutty past? I mean, doesn't you being an alpha male completely mitigate that risk?

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Ok, I'm done with your trolling, equivocations, and straw-manning. Have fun.

[–][deleted]2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

When did I straw-man you? Is that what you say when you're losing an argument? Just tell me why you think my logic is faulty. Like I said, why would you have to worry about a woman with a slutty past divorcing you to have sex with an alpha male? That wouldn't apply to you.

[–]boydeer1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

where is your evidence that men aren't slut shamed? the research i've seen shows that while there is some amount of difference based on the social context, men are equally disrespected for their sexual activity as women.

My wife's had lots of sexual partners but I know we'll never get divorced

if she does divorce you, we can count on your support, then?

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

When have you ever seen a man being slut shamed? No, of course I wouldn't somehow become an anti-feminist if my wife divorced me. BTW, are you admitting that lots of men become anti-feminists just cause of a negative experience with a woman?

[–]boydeer1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

When have you ever seen a man being slut shamed?

plenty of women have treated me poorly for the number of partners and the fact that i have had sex with men. so on an ongoing basis my entire life by women of all ages and backgrounds.

i have seen that whenever a man's value is not perceived as high by women, his number of sex partners is a tool of shame, whether it is a high number or a low number.

No, of course I wouldn't somehow become an anti-feminist if my wife divorced me.

"anti-feminist" is a euphemistic and incorrect characterization of the red pill, just like "anti-red pill" would be a poor description of feminism.

BTW, are you admitting that lots of men become anti-feminists just cause of a negative experience with a woman?

you are pushing an agenda using stilted language. i'm suggesting that if your ironclad assertions were disproven, you might consider that your beliefs might not be as correct as you previously believed.

maybe you would not reassess your beliefs if the conclusions they led to turned out to be wrong. i don't know you.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

How did those women treat you poorly for having a lot of sexual partners? I mean, what exactly did they say? I doubt it was slut shaming. Well, if you got shamed for being bisexual, then that's biphobia (not slut shaming). What wrong beliefs do you think I have? Just say it.

[–]niczar1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Men don't get slut shamed, they get virgin-shamed, by feminists even.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

So, you disagree with boydeer about men getting slut shamed? BTW, I've gotten virgin-shamed lots of times but never by a feminist. Do you have any evidence of a feminist doing it?

[–]niczar1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Yeah, it's easy, just search for "neckbeard" on any feminist subreddit. It's actually omega shaming, a generalization of virgin shaming.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

How do you define "omega"? Is that another way of saying "omega male"?

[–]niczar1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Obviously...

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Well, how do you define it? Just cause I've seen the term "omega male" doesn't mean I know exactly what it means lol. BTW, aren't the terms "beta" and "alpha" enough to describe people? I definitely consider myself to be a "beta" (something I know is considered a bad thing here but I'm not ashamed of it). Anyways, even if a feminist says the word "neckbeard", that's still not virgin shaming.

[–]niczar1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

but I know we'll never get divorced

It's reasonable to expect 100% of newlyweds to believe that.

[–]boydeer6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

are you trolling? if you actually understood the red pill, you would know that most of us don't care about you.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

No, it's a genuine question. So, you don't hate male feminists? Would you say you at least "dislike" me for being a male feminist?

[permanently deleted]

[–][deleted] -5 points-4 points-3 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

But don't you think male feminists are leading to the "collapse" of society? Then how can we not matter? BTW, most of what I know about "the red pill" is from that "Return of Kings" site. Is that an accurate site for what you guys believe?

[–]boydeer2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

if anything, we might have disdain for you, since we believe you're selling out your interests and believing in something that is bad for you and other men. but there are plenty of people who sell themselves out and believe in things that i think are bad for the world, and i can't focus on it.

check the sidebar at /r/theredpill if you want a good run-down of what we believe in general. there is a fair amount of disagreement among TRP folks, at least on minor points or the degree to which something is considered true.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How is feminism bad for men? I wasn't planning on a debate about feminism but I just wanna know your answer to that specific question.

[–]boydeer3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

feminism has pushed to increase the rights of women and decrease the rights of men. as political activists, they have tried to lighten the burden of proof on rape accusations. they have fought to keep false rape accusations unpunished. when a man is accused of rape, feminists pressure universities to kick him out, he ends up in the news, loses his scholarship, and then they find out it's false. nothing happens to the woman.

i personally believe this is bad for honest men (because they can be the victim of a false rape and it can ruin their life), and it's bad for honest women (because an honest man has to be more wary of her), and it's bad for rape victims (because people are less likely to believe them, since it's taboo to scrutinize the attacks, and anyone in law enforcement knows that not all accusations are true).

as a man, it was harder to get into school, harder to get financial aid. when i had an altercation with a woman, it was my fault. this is all from feminist political activism.

when i go to get a job, they have quotas for women. when i interact with a woman at work, if she feels uncomfortable, she can jeopardize my career. this is bad for women, too, because if i am ever in a position to hire a man or a woman, i will hire the one that is less likely to sue me or one of my employees.

it goes on and on. i am just giving examples off the top of my head, and they may be fringe examples, but it's harder to explain the insidious social conditioning.

since you came here for clarification, i would suggest poring through the rational male by rollo tomassi. it is much maligned by feminists, and it's poorly formatted. it's not an academic work of art, but it definitely made a strong impression on me.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago [recovered] (5 children) | Copy Link

[–]-Tyler_Durden- 2 points2 points2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Did I type that I hate them? No.

[–][deleted] -5 points-4 points-3 points 12 years ago [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

So, you don't hate male feminists? Do you at least dislike them?

[–]-Tyler_Durden- 3 points3 points3 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

The correct term would be apathy.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

This is off-topic but I read the post you submitted about there being more male geniuses. Do you think men are more intelligent than women on average? I believe the opposite (but I'm only talking about average intelligence).

[–]boydeer0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

if you look at the data, both men and women have similar averages, but there are more men at both extremes.

in any case, what would your measure of intelligence be?

[–]Meglomaniac2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I dont hate you.

Someone needs to listen to the problems of the girls I bang.

Hell, the more of you the better. It just makes me more desirable.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Are you implying that male feminists are more likely to be "friendzoned"? Even if that's true, what if a guy's fine with being just friends? I used to listen to my wife's problems when she was single and having sex with other guys and I never complained about being "friendzoned". Do you think that if a girl is friends with a guy, he deserves sex from her?

[–]boydeer0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Do you think that if a girl is friends with a guy, he deserves sex from her?

i'm fairly certain that pretty much everyone here would agree that if you really want to have sex with a woman, being her friend as a strategy is a weak move and doesn't merit anything.

[–]3Mr_Reardon3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (25 children) | Copy Link

On the list of people and things that concern me, you'd be somewhere below the neighbor who forgets to pull his trashcan in after pickup day but maybe, on a slow day, just above the effort it took to think about picking the bad piece of lettuce out of my salad over lunch. While I'm sure there are plenty of folks who love and care about you, why would I, a complete stranger, take notice?

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

Do you feel the same way towards female feminists?

[–]3Mr_Reardon1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link

I feel the same way toward most people I don't personally know; whether they're female feminists, male feminists, or the red pilliest red piller who ever red pilled. I don't hate, love, or otherwise devote any sort or extreme, intimate emotion to complete strangers.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

Would you at least say you dislike male feminists?

[–]3Mr_Reardon4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

Why would I say that? I don't know enough of them personally to make such a sweeping call. As an overall ideology, feminism is neither such a strongly emotional nor logistically relevant enough portion of my day to inspire much more than the occasional across the bar chit chat.

[–][deleted] -5 points-4 points-3 points 12 years ago (20 children) | Copy Link

Are you saying you're not an anti-feminist?

[–]3Mr_Reardon1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

I don't devote near enough concern to feminism to be anti-feminism. That verbiage gives credit for considerably more attention to the topic than I actually offer.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

You might be the only guy here who's not an anti-feminist lol. Anyways, how did you find "the red pill"? What is it all about for you?

[–]3Mr_Reardon0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

I somehow doubt I'm the only one. Just because you're not on the bandwagon for a thing doesn't mean you're out to get it, either. I have my beliefs and I'm passionate about them, feminists have their beliefs and I'm apathetic about them. That's really all there is to it.

TRP was pointed out to me by a number of customers - I own bars and restaurants and one of the most popular things we do at my main location is gentlemans' night. Thursday night (traditionally ladies night in the industry) we double the drink prices for the ladies, charge a cover for any skirts, happy hour price for the suits in the room, and running specials for any girls buying for a man. By the time TRP was tossed around a couple of times in conversation I looked it up.

For me it's simply recognizing there are differences in men and women, and working with those differences to maximize everyone's experience and success as a person and subsequently in a relationship. It's recognizing there are some disastrous trends out there telling men and women both how everything but standards are okay, and how everyone is special because no one is special. It's about spitting on entitlement, encouraging growth and competition, and about respecting yourself for reasons actually worthy of respect.

I don't see TRP as set in stone as some, it hasn't taken over my ability to expand a thought beyond it's strategies and stereotypes, but it serves as a solid outline for many things.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

What do you consider to be the official source for TRP material? And are you implying that most people don't recognize that there are differences in men and women? I don't think anyone denies that.

[–]Mr_Reardon1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

There is no official source that I can see, although like anything you'll find self-proclaimed experts. I have to say the biggest laughs I've ever had here are the people claiming definitively what is and is not Red Pill.

As for most people not recognizing differences between men and women, sure, maybe they do but they certainly don't respect or appreciate them. Rather the opposite, they try to eliminate them. Eh, to each his own I'm perfectly happy with the way my life works.

[–][deleted]0 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

When you first looked up TRP, what TRP site did you visit? And can you give an example of feminists trying to eliminate the differences between men and women? Seems like that's what you're getting at so I might as well ask.

[–]Mr_Reardon1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Not what I'm getting at at all, actually. I don't actively concern myself with feminists. I apply my values to the world around me to garner the most optimum result. Let feminists do what feminists do, and if at some point it becomes important to me I'll up and take notice.

[–][deleted]0 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

If you weren't talking about feminists, what people were you talking about who try to eliminate differences between men and women?

[–]Mr_Reardon1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

The people I meet, converse with, and observe who are attempting to do so. I don't keep an itemized list but, as you're interested, I'm sure you could of you were so inclined to start.

[–][deleted]0 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Are you talking about famous people or redditors? And would you say most of those people you've met who try to eliminate differences between men and women are feminists, anti-feminists, or neutral towards feminism? I just don't like the whole "feminists think men and women are exactly the same" myth.

[–]Mr_Reardon1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I'm talking about the spectrum of people I come across in real life and otherwise on a day to day basis. How they apply to feminism? Ask a feminist or someone who's invested in feminism one way or another. I'm not, so I'm the wrong person to carry on this conversation with.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Can you give an example of what those people said that made you think they wanna eliminate differences between men and women?

[–]Mr_Reardon1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Look around your home/office. Wherever you happen to be right now. Somewhere, I bet there's a door. Use it. Go out into the world and interact with people and you'll find plenty of examples on your own. Have a great day.

[–][deleted]0 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Can't you just give an example of a quote? I doubt you've ever met anyone who actually wants to eliminate differences between men and women.

[–]Mr_Reardon1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I own bars - I field comments multiple times a week that ladies night/gentlemans night is unfair. That my TVs ought to show equal WNBA and NBA games. That my staff isn't equally divided between gender. There is an argument once a week by someone on the staff because the clothing catalog for work attire has different options for men and women. On and on.

Now, go on about your day - what you're fishing for isn't here.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

What exactly do you think I'm fishing for? Again, I'm not some journalist looking for a misogynistic quote. My original question was a genuine one (I don't hate you guys so you guys shouldn't hate me).

[–]Mr_Reardon1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I haven't a clue. And I doubt you're a journalist because a reporter would know where to search for information. Asking someone who's apathetic about feminism about feminism is odd.

[–][deleted]0 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Doesn't seem like you're completely apathetic about feminism (cause you said it's not "logistically relevant", which seems like an insult). Anyways, you also said that TRP is about "recognizing there are some disastrous trends out there telling men and women both how everything but standards are okay". What exactly does that mean?

[–]Mr_Reardon1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

When something is irrelevant to my life, my reaction is generally one of apathy...lol If you see that as an insult so be it.

I appreciate your attempt at bull dogging here, kid, but you're barking up the wrong tree. If you want to have a discussion about soccer, you don't go find some guy parked in front of an American football game and say, "hey, I see you're watching football. That means you hate soccer, right?" and then pursue a conversation about it when he replies "nah, I flip by it on the TV once in awhile but it never seemed interesting to me."

You're still not going to gain anything by following up with "so you dislike it? What rule specifically makes you upset?"

"Don't care enough to find out, mate. It's irrelevant to me."

"It's insulting that you find it irrelevant. Let's talk more about that. Provide me with some quotes and opinions from everyone you've ever talked to about soccer."

This is where your conversation with me has gone so, while it's typically impolite to walk out on an exchange, I'm excusing myself. If you want to talk about feminism, I'll repeat my suggestion: go find someone who cares about it.

[–][deleted]0 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

If you don't wanna talk about feminism, that's fine. But I specifically asked you about something you wrote. You wrote that TRP is about "recognizing there are some disastrous trends out there telling men and women both how everything but standards are okay" (that's an exact quote from you). So, what did you mean?

[–]logi_thebear2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (24 children) | Copy Link

No, I just think you're misguided. But hey, if you want to take yourself out of the competition, no problem. You don't compete with TRP for the same kind of women.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link

Why do you think I'm misguided? Well, I'm married so I'm not in the "competition", anyway.

[–]logi_thebear0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

Tell me why you think feminism is a valid philosophy.

And just for the record I'm engaged, so also out of the competition. I threw that in there because I feel that would be the common TRP mentality.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

Cause feminism fights for equality (but I know you'll probably say it doesn't). Anyways, how exactly am I "misguided"?

[–]gg_s2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

feminism fights for equality

This is where I take issue with feminism. Their language and intention is deliberately vague. Clearly defined terms such as 'harassment,' 'misogyny,' 'rape,' and even 'equality' are fuzzed and abstracted to a point of being wildcards. Now all women can experience their own version of harassment, misogyny, rape, whatever label she wants, and she is taken seriously according to the term's strict definition.

Clever semantics provide three major benefits:

  • Attracts members by exploiting the victim complex of women with little self-worth and offers a one-size-fits-all designation of oppression
  • Attracts allies, especially bandwagoners like you, who want to feel good by supporting feel-good causes with feel-good words like "equality" (without vetting their concept of "equality," its methods or its implications, just blind trust that their equality is the same as your equality).
  • Built-in protection from any criticism and debate; anyone who disagrees is practically a misogynist. Just look at how women out-groups like fitness models and conservative housewives are treated by feminists.

Feminism on paper is synonymous with humanism. But feminism in action ranges from cultural androgyny to social reparations for women to outright female supremacy. Feminism is a cultural coup fought with weapons-grade doublespeak. Feminism does not want to "smash the patriarchy," it wants to become the patriarch. Feminism operates upon traditional gender roles and they don't even know it.

Rank feminists enact the feminine gender role by dutifully submitting themselves to the leadership of, in this case, a movement instead of a man. They seek "empowerment," guidance, and protection from other women enacting the masculine gender role of the strong, stable, rational leader. But it doesn't work because, biologically speaking, women suck at being men. Unsatisfied, feminists either cut loose or double down on their bitter antagonism and accelerate toward radfeminism and outright misandry.

Feminism is a tactical mindfuck. I believe feminism does more damage to women than people want to admit. You can believe what you want.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

So what if leadership has been traditionally thought of as a "masculine" gender role? Do you have any evidence that we make better leaders than women? I personally believe that women make better leaders than us and that with more women taking leadership roles, the world will continue to become a better place.

[–]gg_s0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Leadership wasn't attributed to masculinity by way of a coin toss. Men are demonstrably well equipped to fill the mental and physical requirements and, most importantly, pay the costs of leadership service.

Leadership requires near total self-sacrifice for the benefit of the group, including the exhaustion of personal resources. This cost alone precludes a majority of women in the interest of self-preservation.

Leadership requires rationality, emotional stability, and solid mental fortitude. Women have unique hormonal influences that contribute to a turbulent mental faculty. Men have a different hormonal makeup and are far less susceptible to such turbulence.

At the most primitive level, men have the physicality to enforce authority if necessary. Women do not.

Some women are viable for leadership roles today and we've had many examples of solid women leaders in the past, but these women are outliers. The great leaders of human history are overwhelmingly male, and for good reason. Generally speaking, men are better equipped for it than women.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I couldn't disagree more (I believe that women are definitely better equipped for leadership than us). You admit that we're more aggressive than women on average, right? Well, do you think an overly aggressive leader is a good thing?

[–]gg_s0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Feminists like yourself are so arrogant to think that everything is subject to belief and that reality isn't so unless you sign off on it. The reality of the sexes do not depend on whether you agree or disagree. Men and women have objective advantages and disadvantages that are complimentary in nature.

If men and women embrace our gender strengths and operate in harmony, civilization will function at a high level. This is the core principle behind redpill theory. But feminists reject reality and incorporate the idea of interchangeable genders of equal ability. Humanity will still function with this model but at a lower level, since our equalized abilities top out at the weaker gender's maximum capacity. Civilization will be suboptimal at best. Society is at this point today and rapidly destabilizing, all because feminists are too prideful to acknowledge innate gender disadvantages (no problem acknowledging advantages though).

In another thread, you admit to having a "'female supremacy' fetish" and that you get off to a woman dominating you. I get the impression that your support for feminism and female leadership is not based on any sort of qualitative analysis, but because a woman in control gets your dick hard.

You fantasize about infidelity, enjoy being a doormat, and you celebrate the labels "beta" and "nice guy" as a token of obedience. Your self-worth is so far in the toilet that you derive sexual pleasure from the disrespect and disparagement of manhood, specifically your manhood.

You're a masochist and a stubborn one at that. TRP is a community of men who want to be high-value and enjoy high-value treatment. You want the opposite. This community is not compatible with masochism. Feel free to stay for the discussion, but I don't think you come here with an open mind. I think you come here to argue your case for the sake of validating your own self-sabotage.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, I have a female supremacy fetish and I'm into women dominating me. So what? No, I don't support feminism just cause a woman in control "gets my dick hard" (I support the principles of feminism). That's like me saying you only support anti-feminism cause a woman in control turns you off. So what if I want my wife to cheat on me? I already know TRP isn't for me (that's why I asked my question in this sub, not the main red pill sub).

[–]gg_s1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Great.

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Great what? Anyways, let's get back to the original topic lol. How exactly is society rapidly destabilizing? Any proof?

[–]Meglomaniac2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminism absolutely and positively does NOT fight for equality.

They fight for women superiority.

[–]logi_thebear1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

You don't see the need for gender roles. Men and women are meant to compliment each other, feminism sees gender roles as antagonistic. Being with a woman that behaves as one makes me able to be a better man.

I would like a run down of your actual beliefs though, because just like the manosphere isn't full of men that hate women and think they belong in the kitchen, feminism comes in many flavors. What makes you think that women aren't equal to men? I'm not talking about in social interactions and such (because that's nigh on impossible to address), I'm talking about in legal terms.

Also, you may fair better if you refer to yourself as an egalitarian. The term feminist itself implies a certain one-sidedness.

[–][deleted] -4 points-3 points-2 points 12 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

How does being with a submissive woman make you able to be a better man? Well, you can check my post history about my beliefs (you'll find something about female supremacy but that's just a fetish I have).

[–]logi_thebear0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Because that allows me to practice being a dominate man.

Also, as a man you're to be a benevolent leader. Yes, I make the decisions, but I am responsible for the well-being of my SO.

Female supremacy is extremely misguided. If they were superior, they wouldn't need feminism to escalate them, they wouldn't have been "abused" by men throughout history, and they wouldn't be victims. Tell me, if women are superior to men, why have men, historically, been the generals, kings, emperors, so on and so forth, in such large percentages compared to women?

As an aside, considering what you told me about your fetish, and how you keep trying to get people to belittle you or say they hate you, I partially think you were looking for (at least on a subconscious level) strong men to make you feel subservient.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

But how does being a dominant man make you a better man? Well, the man doesn't have to be the leader (I consider my wife to be the "leader" of our marriage and I wouldn't have it any other way). No, my fetish has nothing to do with strong men dominating me (it's all about strong women). Well, don't you think women are superior to us in some ways? For example, I think they're more intelligent than us on average. Don't you anti-feminists complain about women beating us in education (and isn't that good evidence for women being smarter)?

[–]logi_thebear0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

It makes me better because dominate people get what they want more. I am in practice for taking charge in conversation, at being a leader. This caries over to more or less every aspect of my life.

As to women being more intelligent, that's just not true. The reason why they have better numbers in the education system is because it's tailored to them. Think about it, the majority of teachers in pre-college are women. Female teachers rarely know how to handle young boys, who often have trouble sitting in a class room environment. This, in turn, has contributed to the ADHD "problem" our society has. But despite that, if you look at the numbers within STEM careers, men vastly out number women. Hell, they have to try to push women into them.

Yes, women are superior to men in some ways, but not those that are classically masculine traits. These traits are those such as endurance (emotion, mental, and physical), discipline, and intelligence, to name a few. There are exceptions. A strong woman can be superior to a weak man. However, a strong man will always best a strong woman.

The goal of TRP is to make strong men. Not because we dislike lesser men, or women, but because that is what all men should strive to become.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Why can't being dominant make a woman better? Just like you claim the goal of TRP is to make strong men, a goal of feminism is to make strong women. Do you have a problem with strong women?

[–]logi_thebear1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Not at all. I was raised by a single mother who was in the military for 10 years. The TRP simple asserts that men are naturally more dominate, and women are naturally more submissive. The problem with feminism is that it takes these things and says they're constructs of society and not something that came about organically because of naturally occurring, biological differences.

[–][deleted]0 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

How does being with a submissive woman allow you to practice being a dominant man? I mean, why can't both you and your wife be dominant?

No. This will result in endless conflict. Power cannot be shared equally between two people in a relationship, one must always have more than the other or else it becomes a constant back and forth. This is tiring, and kills relationships.

Besides, by definition there cannot be two dominant people. If they are both dominant, who exactly are they exercising that dominance upon?

[–][deleted]1 point 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

No, of course it won't result in endless conflict. So, by being dominant, you meant dominating your wife in some way? How would that make you a better man?

[–]logi_thebear2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I answered that before. I don't mean dominate in a cruel context, I mean it in terms of power dynamics.

I don't think you're really taking in what I'm saying, so I'm going to stop replying at this point.

[–][deleted]0 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Seems like you're just not explaining it well enough. How does being dominant over your wife in terms of power dynamics make you a better man? Can't you become a better man by being dominant over other people? And I disagree with you that power cannot be shared equally between two people in a marriage (of course it can).

[–]RPthrowaway1232 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Trolling, I think. If not then I admire your attempt to have a rational discourse here but I think you should read the sidebar material first. It has most every answer you are looking for.

[–][deleted] -4 points-3 points-2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No, I'm asking cause I actually want an answer. What do you think I haven't read in the sidebar? I already read most of it.

[–]RPthrowaway1232 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Well you seem to be trying to lead certain answers here (constantly asking if we hate you or would physically like to hurt you) and asking questions that are readily explained in the sidebar.

Personally, I think that men and women compliment each other. Gender roles make society run better. Nobody is saying a woman can't be an engineer, or do whatever she wants if she has the talent for it. But trying to eradicate roles is ridiculous. I don't want to lose my role. I'm a man. I want to be a man, and have my own spaces.

For example, imagine an all-boys club. Feminists say this is sexist, why can't women be allowed in! But then the alternate all-girls club is not sexist, because "women need a safe place to be away from men!" Feminism is inherently sexist in how it approaches gender relations.

[+][deleted] -6 points-5 points-4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What exactly do you mean by losing your gender role? No one's talking about making it illegal to be a "manly man" or anything like that.

[–]RPthrowaway1232 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No? Then why do women insist on attacking any male space they come across?

They disrespect men on a basic level but expect to be put on a pedestal in return.

[–]through_a_ways0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

For example, if you saw me on the street, would you do anything to me?

Haha, holy fuck, this has to be a troll

[–]RedPillsHere1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Look at how many people took the bite. It's disgusting. Redditor for 3 hours and this guy is clearly broken. I don't know why people are trying to obtain his validation in this thread and also validating him.

[–]through_a_ways0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Look at how many people took the bite.

I don't see many bites. Just a lot of "I don't give a fuck about you" type comments.

[–]RedPillsHere0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Look at how many people put actual effort into their posts instead of just ignoring it.

[–]boydeer0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

talking to feminists is good frame control practice. and in any case, conversations on the internet are often for the benefit of a third party.

[–]RPthrowaway1230 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

If someone wants to have a rational discussion I'm all for it, but this guy seems to be baiting his answers and trying to get people to admit to hatred towards him and/or women.

[–]2niczar1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And he's not getting anything like it.

[–]RedPillsHere1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Precisely. He says he has read the sidelines but doesn't understand still. Obvious bullshit.

[–]RPthrowaway1230 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

I'll admit I'm indulging him a bit for the sake of discussion, as John Stuart Mill said any idea must be proven time and time again and no opinion should be censored. Its the only way to both strengthen your grasp of the truth and ensure that all opinions, even incorrect ones, are heard and considered.

[–]RedPillsHere1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Which is good. I agree with you but you're not going to get anywhere with a troll because that's a different story.

[–]RPthrowaway1230 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

True, if he is a real troll then it'll go nowhere. A nice intellectual exercise at least!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If you think I'm some troll journalist, what site do you think I'm writing an anti-TRP article for? I wish I was a journalist lol.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

No, it was a genuine question (but I get it - you guys aren't as radical as I thought). But why do people say you're more radical than the men's rights sub?

[–]through_a_ways1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

why do people say you're more radical than the men's rights sub?

Because most people parrot what they hear without doing any independent investigation.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Would you say this sub is less radical than the men's rights sub?

[–]through_a_ways0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No idea

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Have you ever checked out the men's rights sub?

[–]through_a_ways0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

no

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

How did you find this sub, anyway?

[–]2niczar0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Hate? No. Contempt.

I'm assuming "feminism" means gender studies, trigger warning and rape culture, as opposed to the suffragettes.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Yes, I'm referring to modern feminism. Why do you feel contempt towards me?

[–]2niczar1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

You? I don't know you. But the only thing I know about you is that you believe stupid shit. So I have the same amount of baseline respect for you I would have for a religious believer, an NRA member or an anti-vaxxer, all other things being equal.

There's few people I'd hate a priori, such as a zionist or a genital mutilation apologist.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Why do you think feminism is "stupid shit"?

[–]noblepaladin 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, what is feminism? Nobody even knows any more. It is similar to the Tea Party or Occupy Wall Street. There were some intentions behind the movements when they first started (they were both complaining about the exact same thing, they were against bank bailouts). But as time moved on, their movements evolved into some nonsense and nobody even knows what it is at the end. The general public just thinks that both groups are crazy and full of idiots. That has happened to mainstream feminism. Nobody knows what these "feminists" want. They keep saying "equality for women" without saying what that means. And people just use it for their own agenda, similar to what happened to the Tea Party and Occupy Wall Street.

So when someone says "I am a feminist". I just think, so what does that mean? What I do know is that many people who say that tend to be extremists in both beliefs and politics, and is very far away from the mainstream point of view.

[–]2niczar2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

To make it short,

Have you read Pinker's "The Blank Slate"? We are not blank slates. Women are not identical to men.

Have you read Pinker's "the Better Angels Of Our Nature"? Western Society is the least rapey that's ever been. "Rape Culture" is complete bullshit, and it's offensive.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

We don't claim that women are identical to men. So, is rape culture the only thing you disagree with feminists on?

[–]2niczar2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I said, "to make it short", so obviously not. Read those books. They're not Red Pill books although they unwittingly support the idea IMO.

I'm with Chomsky, gender studies are cargo cult science. Modern feminism is more or less synonymous with gender studies.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

You want me to read a whole book just to understand your argument? Anyways, what about slut shaming - do you disagree with us on that (that it's a sexist double standard)?

[–]2niczar1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Those are interesting books in their own right. If you don't want to read them, look them up on WP.

Slut shaming is something women do to other women. In my experience, I've heard women call other women "sluts" 10 times more often than I've heard guys do it. There was a study recently that tended to show that it was a form of maintaing social dominance, because slut shaming was most common in cases where women of lower social status "intruded" on the turf of high status women, regardless of their actual promiscuity.

Personally I don't have anything again promiscuous women. It's just that rationally, I know that past behavior predicts future behavior, and thus promiscuous women are more likely to be problematic as a mate.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

In my experience, we slut shame much more than women do. Where exactly have you seen women calling other women "sluts" (and are you sure it wasn't as a compliment)?

[–]niczar2 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

"We"? I certainly don't. Why don't you stop doing it, if it's so bad?

Where exactly have you seen women calling other women "sluts" (and are you sure it wasn't as a compliment)?

I've overheard it, mostly, from women talking to other women about a third party. Honestly, it's not something I hear very often if at all, and given where I live, i.e. in the country that cares the least about promiscuous behavior in the world, it'd be about as alien a conversation as talking about one's truck and guns.

[–]Dreamtrain0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Have you even read what TRP is and the side-bar material or just what you were told and a few cherry-picked comments that don't reflect the opinion of the whole sub?

If you must word it that way, the only "enemy" that a guy has is himself. Not the wife that cheated on him and took half his assets and kids in the divorce, not the girl that used him up for all he's worth for favors in his teens because he didn't know better and thought this is what women want. Not even the asshole cock blocking him when approaching the girl he's interested in. It all comes down that the only thing between a guy and success in his sex life, is himself. That's what you learn here.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I've gotten most of my information about "the red pill" from returnofkings.com. BTW, if a guy actually has a fetish for his wife cheating on him (but not divorcing him), do you think there's anything wrong with that?

[–]Dreamtrain0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

To each their own. I'd have a problem if he came whining why he's losing his relationship after enabling his wife to cheat on him.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What do you mean by "enabling" his wife to cheat on him? I don't have a typical cuckold fetish (I want my wife to actually cheat on me, not fuck other men with my permission).

[–]Dreamtrain0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well if you have a fetish for being cheated on, it's only logical you'd try to make things happen so that such scenario happens right? So you like being cheated, good for you. What's not ok is complaining if your relationship falls apart because of it, it's risky shit and anyone would've seen it coming.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, I've tried to get one of my friends to seduce my wife (didn't work). Why do you think it's risky? I mean, if my wife did cheat on me for better sex, it would be purely for sexual reasons.
