Focusing only on kids and neglecting the husband makes not only a bad wife but a bad mother too. She's failing her kids by not providing them with a good example of a functioning familyand driving their dad away.

standing ovation this comment is gold and so is the reply from the happy husband. And so that's the longest chain of [deleted]s I've ever seen!

Children should be valued and beloved members of a family. They should not be the center of the family. Kids who get treated like they are the center of the universe grow up into self-involved, entitled, and emotionally fragile adults.

This woman isn't doing her children any favors by letting her life revolve around them to the point of neglecting her husband and herself. Not to even mention what it's going to be like when she suddenly finds herself a single mother because Dad gets tired of feeling like a "second-class citizen."

Very good point. This applies to overall society, as well. Anytime I hear about banning or censoring something because "think of the kids!" I'll think of your point.

The best piece of advice I ever received on parenting and sustaining a happy marriage is "Your spouse is always going to need you, your kids will grow up and not need you." If you neglect your spouse for your kids, one day the kids will be gone and your marriage will be in shambles. Kids need to see their parents be supporting and loving to each other so they can emulate it with their own spouse.

I wish I could say that I hope this woman realizes that fact at some point and starts paying more attention to her husband but we all know that won't be the case...

Still, when she talked about declining his lunch invitations and then said something to the tune of, "When the kids are gone, please ask me out to lunch again!" I wanted to grab her by the ears and tell her, Honey, he'll probably be long gone by then. For his sake, I hope so, because at this point he's clearly just sticking it out for the kids.

I went to read the comments on the article and I'm glad people are calling her out for being an awful person. However, this was the best comment:

This makes me want to give John a blowjob.

My sister posted this on Facebook today. I immediately thought of redpill and RPW, and smiled.

Kids are the priority.

Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. Absolutely not and never.

And it is better for the kids when they are not the priority.

Refreshing to see someone posting this on this sub. Agree 100%.

Make them the priority. Tell them they're super special no matter what. Give them orange slices, don't even keep score at the soccer game. Everyone is a winner.

All we end up with are a bunch of self-entitled brats. They grow up and don't understand why they don't get everything they want, whenever they want. Not good for the kids themselves. Not good for society.

We learn thru failure. We learn thru having to earn respect. We realize our full potential thru adversity. Teach them differently, and you are just setting them up for a lifetime of disappointment.

I think that by saying "kids arent a priority" she means that while kids are important and you must invest in their emotional wellbeing, you cant be a fully functioning and proper parent if you never have your own time. It also helps foster some independence in the children if they learn to do things on their own...which helps them out immensely im the long run. Especially since many children these days are babied to the point of delayed development.

My sister is 4 years old, not potty trained, completely spoiled, and doesnt speak English. She isnt a special needs child. It is just that ma has become so obsessed with babying her. The child is too much of a priority. My sister cant even eat solid foods without it being chopped up into itty bitty bites and moistened with water.

Its a freakin' shame.

Whenever she ...'walks'...she intentionally topples over and is greeted with coos, hoots, and hollars. Its how she receives attention so the behavior continues.

Nobody here is going to say that children arent important. You just want to ensure that your entire world doesnt revolve around them 24/7.

It is what the definition should mean, yes. Nobody here is disagreeing that what you are saying. Its the right thing to do for the child. What I am saying is an unfortunate BP reality of what 'priority' means to them.

We are human. We can't have it all.

This gives no women the right to justify pushing her husband away and prioritizing him last just because they had children, gives no right to justify giving him no credit and acting as if he just helps her out with "her" kids. Sorry, I highly doubt any man whether they acknowledge it or not signs up to have children while fully knowing their wife is going to put him last. What kind of man is that? One that does not respect himself much.

Why are you expecting him to "afford" three kids? Maybe he was the bread winner and lost his job for reasons out of his control? The fact that you see him as a resource so blatantly is laughable. he's a human. He's probably cheating and she deserves it.
