In town today noticed a hot girl who was struggling with some heavy boxes. I was walking alongside her so I said 'let me help you with those' and we walked & chatted 100 yards or so to where she was delivering them.

A little later I saw her again. She smiled so I called her over. Asked what her name was she said Katie. Got my phone out and said 'put your number in there Katie'.

She said 'why?'

At this point I hesitated and this is where I lost it. A guy walking past was staring at us (probably at her ass) and I was paranoid that he knew me (small town). It was only a couple seconds hesitation but then I said 'so I can call you to arrange a drink. Or if you need help with some more boxes (obvs joking)'

She said: 'no thankyou' while smiling, and walked off.

Felt I lost it at the hesitation, maybe she just wasn't into me but I got a vibe that she was.
