(I originally thought of posting this in AskTRP, but as I typed it, some things apparent to married guys started to become evident)

I was thinking of having a "guys night out" get together for pizza and beer. About 8-10 guys. Some good companion time to talk about stuff. Problem is, I can think of 2 old friends of mine (whom I'd love to have there) whose wives cling to them like glue. I'd also like to have my brother-in-law and 17yo nephew (obviously no beer for him) there too, but my sister is also massively clingy to her son. Another divorced friend also takes his daughter (his only child) everywhere with him whenever he has custody.

Where could I have this and what do I do to prevent any wives/moms/daughters from showing up? I'm fucking serious, I've done a pretty good job of setting boundaries, but my friends have not.

So where could I have this? My own home? That would work because my wife likes to get out of the house for a while and take the kids to the mall and shop. But there may be a problem if one of my kids gets sick and can't leave the house.

My mothers house? she lives alone but it would also be easy to ask her to go to the nearby slots casino for a few hours which she loves.

A local Pizza & beer restaurant? Yep, just pre-reserve a large table composed of 2 or 3 tables pulled together.

But what do I do if any wives/daughters/moms STILL manage to show up? It would be very easy for any of these guys to say "Hey Man, can we pull up another chair at the table for her?".

What suggestions can anyone throw out there?

MOAR: forget pizza. Carbs are making too many middle-aged guys too bloated. This calls for BBQ Ribs
