Anger is rooted in one of two areas. Adaptive and maladaptive behaviors. Adaptive behavior reflects our social ability to meet life head on, like Red Pill's mantra. Lift. This is an adaptive behavior. one I notice you don't mention.

The generally dysfunctional responses that result from maladaptive anger are based on emotional issues from traumatic experiences in our past. Usually it our own inner voice that is at the root of maladaptive anger, driving us to remain in a state of frustration and suffering.

It's not your anger that is the issue. It's your response to it. If you are unable to control this you need to seek more professional help. Yet all they are going to do is explore the reasons and bring you to the conclusion that it's your actions. Your responses to stimuli that are the reasons here.

FIRST..... Forget all about your family and all their maladies. They do not define you unless you allow it to (frame).

Take a long hard look at how you react to things not going your way. See the pattern there? You are demanding respect where none is deserved.

Literally count to 10 before you reply to anybody. Right now you are not capable to think clearly when poked (frame). Just STFU and think what people are actually saying before going off the deep end.

The light at the end of the tunnel is at least some self realization that you over react. Build on that.

Basic Comfort test. This is usually EASY to pass. The trick is it is only easy to pass if you really to care. Do you? You pass a comfort test by taking her in your big strong arms and reassuring her that there is no need for her to feel threatened because you are both on the same team...or whatever. The words are probably not important. Give her a hug. Does she need to put a sign around her neck?
