Our vows are probably something like "make me sandwiches exclusively and forever" and "make me laugh every day exclusively and forever"..

He's much better at his vows than I am at mine hahah

I wrote our ceremony, and we each wrote our own vows. Mine: "I love your adventurous spirit, and I promise to be open minded when you want to try new things. I will laugh with you always, but sometimes, I will cry on your shoulder. I will respect your independence, and be understanding when you need chill time. You have loved me when I didn't love myself, and I can't imagine spending my life with anyone else." Oh Dear! Thank you for this reminder Iris. I needed to remember. We keep them in a jar, I need to have them framed where I can see them always. I uphold the first part, we are currently learning tennis and slacklining together. I am working on the chill time communication:)

Oh Lordy, I have no clue what our vows were; I guess I need to watch the video we received as a part of our Las Vegas wedding package at A Little White Chapel. The guy there did tell us that my homemaking skills were the foundation of our marriage, which made us grimace because at the time I had none :)

The one thing that I make sure to do is remember that my husband is the most important person in the world to me, so I treat him as such and put him ahead of all others.

Oh, and we should have absolutely paid the $20 to make that guy wear the Elvis suit; it's my only regret, LOL!

I like what Atlas wrote once, and it pretty much sums up my marriage: "No one here gets out alive." (Our actual vows were whatever the courthouse clerk read from a script....this better sums up our view.)

Our vows were written by our officiant, she wrote our entire ceremony after interviewing us each individually. The entire ceremony was personalized based on those interviews and I cried reading them the first time with R when she sent them to us. At the reception people asked if our officiant was a family friend because she "knew you so well!" but we had only met her a few months before. She is just really really good at what she does.

I, Iris, take you, R to be my husband, my constant friend, my faithful partner and my love from this day forward. In the presence of our family and friends, I offer you my solemn vow to be your faithful partner in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, and in joy as well as in sorrow. I promise to love you unconditionally, to support you in your goals, to honor and respect you, to laugh with you and cry with you, and to cherish you for as long as we both shall live.

Two things she included in mine because of our interview was "To support your goals" I guess I gushed for a while about how goal oriented he was and how exciting it was to celebrate whenever he hit a milestone at work or in his life. And Also, how proud I always am of him for those goals. Additionally, it was important to me to say "as long as we both shall live" and not - till death do us part. Because I don't want to talk about death at a wedding haha. It's a happy occasion can we not bring the grim reaper into this discussion. But also, because should something ever happen to me I truly hope R finds happiness again.

I do read them on a pretty regular basis. It's just a quick click in my email to find them and they always put a smile on my face :)

We had the Anglican service, so the bits I said were:

I, Littleegg , take you, N , to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward; for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part; according to God's holy law. In the presence of God I make this vow.

N, I give you this ring as a sign of our marriage. With my body I honour you, all that I am I give to you, and all that I have I share with you, within the love of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I think about them sometimes when I put my rings on and remember taking his hand and the priest telling me in the practice to really jam the ring on him cos he's pretty tough and I wouldn't want him able to take it off!

I reread our wedding things (order of service and vows) sometimes, I think it reminds me how we are one team and vowed to share everything

My husband and I exchanged standard public vows, but wrote vows to read to each other privately on our wedding night.

I vowed to always leave a minimum 2 cookies in the sleeve OR replace the package. 10 years and I have so far kept that promise!
