As some of you may know if you've read anything that I post from time to time, I used to be a semi-pro boxer up until I went to college. I was pretty good, I probably could have gone pro, but i was also pretty smart and I didn't want to destroy my brain. Instead, I went to college and law school, and now I'm a lawyer. I did make about $80,000 (and some scholarships) during my boxing career, which is not bad for a kid under 18.

So, I'm working on a long term project for my firm. And, I'm working with some lawyers from another firm. I'm kind of flirting with one of the associates that I was working with. I can tells she's kind of humoring me, and she's not really sure if she's interested. We go out a couple of times, and then she tells me that she wants to see my place. I very rarely bring women back to my house because i feel like it's my space, and I don't like other people to be in it. But, i decided to make an exception for her.

I bring her back, and we're sitting in the parlor/ game room. On the walls, I have a bunch of photographs of me shaking hands with professional boxers, and pics of me during fights, with my hands raised, etc.

She has no idea that I used to be a boxer, or a scholarship wrestler/ track runner in high school and college. She thinks of me as just some corporate lawyer nerd. You can't see my physique because I'm always wearing a suit.

She looks at me with this dirty, incredulous look on her face, and says, "eww, I didn't know you were a fan of boxing." Then I said, "I'm not a fan." Then she said, "Then why do you have all of these boxing pictures on the wall." Then I said, "That's me in those pictures." She gets up off the couch, looks more closely at the pictures, and her jaw drops when she realizes that it is me.

Her whole demeanor changed. All of the subtle negative vibes that i was getting from her vanished. She must have realized that this guy might be an alpha male after all. Interestingly, I kind of lost interest in her. I was more interested in her when she was standoffish.
