It doesn't take much to realize this. Facial attractiveness is largely cultural, as you can just look at the beauty standards of other countries (even other Western countries) and compare them with the type of men those same people raised here tend to desire. Twin studies have confirmed that at least 80% of attraction is cultural. The all powerful height preference is cultural likely too. In reality, height never had much to do with fighting ability/power because humans have always used tools like spears, swords, guns, etc. and height is just a single attribute in one dimension. Another study has shown that there are some tribes where the male taller norm doesn't exist (If people were randomly paired something like 4% of couples would feature taller people and in Western society the actual number is lower but in random tribes this number was found to be bigger)
