What kind of imbecile daughters does that woman have? After she hits dementia stage it takes 1-2 years until she's dead, and the last kind of stress she needs is to be fed the feminazi lies that "she had Alzheimer, she couldn't consent, hence her husband raped her".

This story is just so ridiculous. This makes it seem like some of his political opponents may be playing dirty.

This man's step daughters may have been after guardianship of their mother, and are using these charges to have his guardianship revoked. I'm assuming that, as the husband, he has guardianship or at least power of attorney and medical power of attorney over his wife. His wife had dementia, but depending on her condition she may have recognized her husband. They had been together for close to ten years. He would be in long term memory. It is reasonable to assume she would be comfortable with him. My grandmother had Alzheimer's disease, and she recognized me long after she no longer knew any of the nurses. Towards the end she mistook me for my father, sometimes, but she knew I was family.

The other issue is that elder sex is generally considered "icky". Sex is not the exclusive domain of the youthful. While sexual desire often declines with age, people retain both the desire and capacity for sex well into their golden years. The daughters seem to be trading in on the perception of the "creepy old man" in their charges against their step-father, when in truth he probably had a lot of sex with their mother all through the marriage.
