People are often talking past each other because PPD lacks sound theory of mind.

To help with this, I'm trichotomizing different schools of thought and where different rpers are coming from. This will help us understand why different people say different things about RP theory.

Type 1: Systemic school

Type 1 just like discussing things as they are. This type focuses on the existing system. Type 1-dominant posters include black pillers, incels, pedants, and theorists/modelers. They are not looking for advice. They're being purely descriptive.

Examples of what you might read from a Type 1-dominant:

  • "Girls only want to fuck Chad!" (Reminder: They don't have to be correct. It just has to be descriptive.)
  • "Women have high marital socioeconomic mobility than men. This is balanced out by men's higher occupational socioeconomic mobility."
  • "Stop being wrong on the internet."

Examples of people who fit under this category:

  • /u/atlas_b_shruggin
  • me
  • incels/blackpill

Type 2: Behavioural school

Type 2-dominant are people that focus on behaviour. These are the types that like to give advice on what to do to get to their own supposed levels of success. These mostly consist of older patriarchal types, younger blowhards, and/or even GGGs (genuinely generous guys / good guy gregs). They're being prescriptive.

Example of what you might read from a Type 2:

Type 3: Mentality / Character school

Understanding Character-driven school of thought will help bpers who get confused over all the misogyny on trp subreddit ("What does this have to do with 'improvement'??"). This type focuses on gaming the audience (hyping them up, changing their mindset, etc) rather than "teaching them game" (as a Type 2 would).

Why would they do this? They are assuming that a lot of the newbs come from an extreme "beta" mindset. If you read enough asktrp to see enough of the newer posters, you'll see why people assume this. You'll get guys who, for the life of them, don't understand why doing everything for their girlfriends and being too nice can make them boring, unsexy, and can even scare some women off ("omg, he's too serious about this. I'm not ready for this!").

They're trying to change the fundamental mindset of these men. Making them more callous and arrogant/cocky.

Examples of what you might read from a Type 3:

  • "Bitches ain't shit but hoes and tricks"
  • "You're a man. You're superior to women. Be proud."

This is mostly useful to feeler males. These are more common on the trp subreddit and less common here on ppd.

...

Understanding the different types might improve communication and also save time. E.g. So people don't waste time giving pedants/systematizers advice.

Obviously, most people will show different types. A type 2-dominant might find it fun to discuss the physiognomy of a Chad. A type 1-dominant may still give advice to people he cares about.
