I'm reading it right know. I'm about 2/3 into the book but I'm not sure if I agree with everything. I feel like she still has some learning to do. What's your opinion?

This is why women on average become an empty shell of themselves due to sacrificing one’s self as a trade-off for a supposedly better/easier life in a patriarchal system. Throughout the history, we have an “anomaly” of a woman who opposes to the system, both misguided women and men gang upon her in order to oppress her.

We need to stop romanticizing a selfless archetype that only belongs to women. We are subliminally told that our dreams, hopes and goals should never get in a way of our womanly duties and most importantly, men’s lives. See all the most beloved female centred movies, the plot is primarily romance where women finally become worthy or a whole person cause of men’s “love” whereas in the male centred movies, romance is usually sub-plot or nonexistent and their character development is independent of it.
