I think (most of them! #notallRPW) they're women who had to learn femininity in the same way that male RPers are men who had to learn masculinity.

It sucks to be in that position (not naturally fulfilling your gender role) -- but I think that in both cases, RPers overcompensate.

Honestly it feels like a contest every time I've looked at their posts. Who can be the most perfectest of womens, who can please a man the bestest.

Everyone who posts is just terrible and must bow down even lower to her man, they've made such a mistake. And if they haven't done anything wrong and they've done their best? Well then they just picked a bad man and they need to find a better man to serve.

I think its fantastic that they are women taking charge of their relationships in a way. I love that they take it upon themselves to be the best partner that they can be. But relationships are two sided and the whole sub feels like men play no part in a relationship and everything is on the woman in a way.

My only problem with them is that some of the advice leads to women staying with poor partners and "killing themselves" to make it work instead of perhaps expecting more from the man or standing up for themselves. They encourage women to cram themselves into little labeled boxes and I don't think its too healthy for the women who don't fit. For the women who do, I think its great that they have a community.

I read their posts sometimes. RPW seem to end up in bad relationships just as often as everybody else where they are clearly incompatible or with captains who don't want to be captains. They sometimes have a mean girl vibe about the faults of other women and they think they are special feminine flowers. Their recipes are often not great. I think everybody has this weird delusion that they are super duper individuals and they want to meet other people who are also super duper individuals which accounts for a lot of what TRP and RPW are about. However, RPW women does not flood other subs yammering and they don't need my approval for anything and I am sure they don't care.

1) They believe that men should lead, but the leader should be the one who knows the most about a specific situation. For example, if the woman happens to be a better administrator, she should be the one in charge of finances. Most people are a mix of dominant and submissive traits so having a man that's always dominant is unrealistic.

2) They make great emphasis on femininity, but femininity is part of the same continuum as masculinity. The great majority of people are a mix of both. If a woman needs advice on how to be feminine it probably means that she isn't and trying to act otherwise is against her nature.

3) There is a great emphasis on pleasing your SO to the point it becomes an ass-kissery fest.

4) A while ago, there was a post where users expressed surprise at a good looking guy who "pumped and dumped" girls in college and ended up dating a stripper. Newsflash: most women don't want to date men that have a hitting and quitting history, yet most advice by the RP, and traditionalist dating coaches like the Feminine Woman and Susan Walsh from Hooking Up Smart excuses men that sleep early on with women and don't want anything to do with them because the women failed in their roles of gatekeepers. Sorry, but men like that are avoiding responsibility for their sexuality and are better to be avoided.

5) There is a lot of advice telling women to concentrate on their marriage rather than on their careers because men don't care about those things. Truth is that marriage is an important part of your life but your life can't revolve around it, a career is one of the many interests that a woman can have. Additionally, many women combine both with little problem, and right now, educated women who marry later are the ones who are more likely to tie the knot and less likely to get divorced.

Depends on what exactly they believe. If they are just repackaged trad cons, I don't care. If they actually have self-depreciating views because of their sex, it's sad.
