I want to preface this by saying I'm neither a feminist nor an MRA. I found TRP by chance after a friend suggested Nick Sparks.

For the better part of the past two weeks I've spent a good amount of time lurking on TRP, and while it does offer some great advice I also couldn't help but feel that something wasn't right.

To start with the good; they teach men that if you want to be attractive you need to first love yourself, and everything else comes after. This is good because if you don't love you why should anybody else. Having a sturdy frame means that you can't be easily manipulated, or taken advantage of, and this is good because you hold tightly to what you feel is right.

Now for the bad, I can't help but feel that when talking about holding frame it prevents a nuanced view of things. Very few things are black and white, and when speaking about holding frame it seems to show reluctance to grow as a person and see another's view point. TRP from what I've seen also seems to have an issue with commitment as when I was lurking I came across something where the poster said something along the lines of "When you think you can't live without her it's time to move on." That seems to be a big indicator to me of someone who is afraid of getting hurt, and doesn't want it to happen again. I can relate, but it's not healthy and keeping everyone at a distance will only make you lonely over time. Loving someone so much that you don't want to go without them isn't bad. It shows you trust them enough to let them through barriers, and having someone you can communicate insecurities to will make a relationship stronger because you have someone to rely on when your not strong enough.
