A lot of times its in a girl's best social interest to play dumb. It scares off the betas and makes the alphas either double down or shut up.

If a girl had to respond to every pickup line and innuendo and take it seriously as a sexual proposition, it'd get real old real fast. Also, she'd run the risk of looking either horny or paranoid.

And of course if she wanted to play games or fool around, putting on the innocent face is a very effective smokescreen, one that men can almost never pull off, and most men don't call out.

I've always been oblivious. I had a guy friend message me around my 10 year HS reunion to see if I was going. And then when we were shooting the shit he said you know I always thought you and I would hook up someday. I was shocked. I thought he saw me as completely platonic and he thought we always had a vibe going.

Another example would be when I got moved from friend zone to fuck zone in HS. I had a rule against dating guys from my own school because it was small/private/gossipy/religious school. Anyway, senior year it got out that I wasn't a virgin. At a religious school at that time that was a scandal. All of a sudden, my guy "friends" started getting me alone at parties and asking me for NSA sex or ya know just a random BJ with no reciprocation. Great deal right? At least a prostitute gets paid. I hell no'ed all of them. But I never knew who was going to do it until they did it. I even thought one of the guys was gay and he was the one who pressured me the most. I was oblivious.

Some are and some are not. I used to be very oblivious. It seemed like every time I was sure a guy wasn't interested in me he was, and when I was sure he was, he wasn't. I'm much more astute and accurate now, but that came from experience and practice, not some innate knowing. I still get it wrong sometimes.

Definitely astute.

Example: My friend currently has a crush on Johnny Depp and Gleb Savchenko from Strictly Come Dancing, a tanned model dancer. She is a 6-7 so it's to be expected. She thinks I like her. Even if I did, I have no interest in being vulnerable to women right now. Anyway, she threw a house party last night without telling me about it or inviting me (and the last guy she friendzoned, our friend who's aspie and bit of a neck beard). We were all, the whole friendship gang, supposed to go for a meal and cinema tonight, but it got cancelled last minute. When I asked why I was told "because not enough people could go." Yet most of the people invited there, were at the photos from the house party on FB. AWALT

I think they are astute to a certain extent, but at the same time I don't think the average woman realises quite how much men like looking at attractive women and how easy it is for us to get aroused. Because it takes longer for them, and they are not quite as visual.

A woman isn't going to go out with a man that she isn't physically attracted to and would gladly welcome any perverted stares from him. No female over age of 13 would think of such nonsense in this highly sexualized culture.
