To make it work for all men, you're going to have to have a ratio of far more women to men. And allow women to dispose of a man who is a non-performer in the bedroom or who gets too old and unattractive.
Soon, you won't be "allowing" women to do anything. Women will be making all the rules. 'Cos when you have that many women in the world .... good luck to you ;)

1)In order to have working polygyny, you need to have more women than men.
2)If there are more women than men, women will have rule making power.
3)If women have rule making power, women will vie for women rights and empowerment.
She made a statement about how you need more women than men to have polygyny. She then made a statement that women majority means that women will have the rule making power. Both statements are false. Latter only works in a context of democracy. And I really don't see much of a correlation between polygyny and democracy - kinda the opposite actually. And there really isn't correlation (perhaps negative) between polygyny and women's rights. So I took Islam as an example of that.

Also in modern poly communites polygyny as your are imagining it doesn't happen. a man forming harrems of multiple women exclusive to him just doesn't happen in modern poly. a guy might date multiple women but those multiple women are dating multiple guys or gals as well.

I think you'd be creating way too much work for yourself. I can barely tolerate the annoying habits of one women, let alone multiple.
I how many text messages would you receive in the run of a day? and then you'd have to come and explain 'how come you didn't answer my text, and my text, and my text?!?!?'
And then, you'd have to listen to three different women talk about their boring day? Even if you adopt a reasonable '15 minute max' rule for your wife to tell you about her day before you start agreeing and amplifying everything she says before she stops, that's a about an hour long commitment in a polygyny situation.
My point is, I imagine this would be a full time job managing multiple wives, so unless you're a lottery winner, then I can't see it happening. Not to mention, why would you want to dedicate yourself to this? Go out and invent something?

This is one of the reasons I don't really worry much about my Husband cheating. He doesn't have the energy for it. Even just spending the time and energy to go to a bar in the hopes of picking up some skank is taking away from time he could be spending doing something productive. Let alone fostering a relationship with another woman. He would be annoyed out of his mind.

There is definitely merit to this.
Most men are way too fucking busy.
Also, unless the man meets a fully complicit woman who knows there is no chance he will leave his wife (this is much rarer than people think, usually they want a commitment after awhile), then the other woman will be texting him and such. Society has probably created a defence to cheating because women text their SOs non-fucking stop in the age of smartphones.

I've observed that polygyny is just as prevalent as hypergamy, it's just that hypergamy is far more achievable then polygyny (in American culture).

In order for a man to do that he would have to be a pretty high energy, outgoing social butterfly. Being with Husband and having a girlfriend got really draining, and if it were two women it would have been positively exhausting, let alone the possibility of even more than that. What if you have more than one high libido partner? Can you keep up with having sex multiple times a day consistently? Or more than one woman who likes a lot of intimacy and bonding time. There are men for whom it works, but for most I think it would run them ragged unless their partners had very low sex drives and didn't desire to spend much time with their SO.
What about polyandry, polygamy, and open relationships?
