Damn that is not going to be encouraging to new men looking to pick up women.

However, it can also be comforting since if someone new to "the game" gets rejected, he can tell himself that even a prominent coach doesn't get laid 97.3% of the time he approaches.

It would be a fun experiment if he tried different "types" of approaches, or specifically tried to change how he dressed or something, and saw how those numbers changed.

I tried, but I cannot think of a reason why someone would be keeping meticulous track of how many people they spoke to,"how many sets I did per day", how many of those would give them their numbers, how many dates they had versus lays, then post it in a blog. I would agree that this is a kind of mental block I have because my sets of values and what I think is important may be vastly different.

Can someone offer some perspective on this? Why it is important for you to categorize contacts with a person of interest (as in Opens, Numbers, Dates and Lays from the first link provided) and keep track of it?

Relevant reading: Goodlookinglosers 100 approaches GLL is a gym guy, so he's muscular, but he didn't use any routines or anything like that during his approaches. It's just "nice guy" day-game. He's also been in the pick-up community for awhile and has a reputation for being a decent guy on the forums. I'd consider him to be a trustworthy source. He did this experiment in 2009 and wrote this very detailed blog post about the results.

His account of the experiment is very motivating.

As with anything in life, if you throw enough shit up against the wall, something will eventually stick. I know not all RPers identify with PUA, but there is no denying there is a huge overlap in the communities. The same analysis of the female psyche that you see with PUA is heavily applied in TRP.

Now with the being said, lets revisit what I say about TRP all the time: you operate on confirmation bias. I don't know how many times I've had a RPer tell me that they are just analyzing how women behave, and adjusting their own behavior as a man, to be able to seduce a woman, or whatever it is you want to do with her, that TRP has the key to how women think and what they want. From a RPer here yesterday:

I mean really! I have a sneaking suspicion that RPers who are seeking women, whether just sexual relationships or LTR, have similar experiences. Yet you guys have cracked the code to women, sex, and relationships? That's delusional. .

A 1 in 37 success rate isn't too bad, it means that as long as you approach at least 40 new women a week you are likely to date 1 new woman every week.

The real question you should be asking is why more men don't do this? If getting laid is as easy as approaching 40 women a week why are there so many lonely and frustrated men?

It's because approaching a woman you don't know is actually very hard for the average man and almost impossible for a socially inept guy.

And this isn't JUST a matter of not being self confident, society trains people to believe that every man who approaches a woman is a potential predator and men who flirt with women they don't know are creeps who deserve social stigma.

PUA works because it helps men get over that.

As for the success rate thing, I think PUA puts too much emphasis on social tricks and word games, most sexual attraction is built by building you Sexual Market Value, if you have a high enough SMV then women will hit on you.

If a socially inept fedora'd neckbeard walked up to a girl in the Supermarket and mumbled: 'Hey that dress looks good on you but it would look even better on the floor wink' it would be an awful cringe worthy attempt at seduction. If George Clooney did the exact same thing in a confident voice at an after party at the Oscars it would be an amazing sexy attempt at seduction and his shoes would be soaked from her gushing vag.

What you say and do is less important than who is saying and doing it, that's why TRP puts so much emphasis on inner game and raising your SMV.
