That's pretty accurate; Really hot guys cock-block themselves BECAUSE of how hot they are.

Women tend to think really hot guys are more likely to be man-whores unable to commit, so they'll be avoided. That or the man will make her feel intimidated and shy because of how attractive he is so she'll never talk to him/will try to avoid him.

Women still want an attractive man, but not so attractive he can be a whore about it, or cause her to be in competition with other women, or make her feel insecure about herself; Like she's not good enough for them.

Usually really hot guys are seen as fuck buddies instead of a potential committed partner.

If you want to fuck, but also find commitment, you're better off being a 7 as women will find you 'hot' but also 'safe' for the most part.

Value is not 1 dimensional.

In terms of physical attraction, social status or charisma? No. The more the better. If anything, being too good looking can put you in the NOT boyfriend category for some girls who can't handle the competition.

In terms of having a good stable job, being an agreeable guy, and having some cool hobbies? Yes. Some women will peg you as commit material, and hold out.

The thing about value is it grows exponentially. And then it will hit a point of upper echelons if you are the lucky few.

Its actually hilarious that women here think more value is detrimental for men when their behaviors indicate the opposite. It sounds like women are jealous that men who get more valuable are reaching their levels of choices when it comes to choosing their partner, and they don't like that men get to choose between women and that they have to compete to get a high value man.

Instead of quantitative measures (numbers) think of it in terms of qualitative: it's a spectrum from "Good for fucking" to "Relationship/Marriage material"; and you can hit the gym and climb up both scales, but if you become a better providers (career, salary, savings) you'll climb up the "Relationship/Marriage material" and will be never considered for the FWB thingy.

Depends on how you get there I guess. If it's all looks based SMV there's a point where some women will get self conscious because they like being "the pretty one". Especially if they know you work out or style yourself with effort that's even vaguely equal to theirs and you begin to pull ahead.

There is a detriment to increase one's value, at some point, yes. But it has nothing to do with cockblocking himself. If said woman do not want to have sex, he would change to one of the hundred others which will give sex willingly.

The detriment part is the resources. Humans have limited resources, and the more you invest in the sexual marketplace, the lowest is your investment elsewhere, which can lead to problems and unhappiness. Imagine, a guy which invests so much in being a sex simbol, he does not have money to eat, or he does not have time for himself. This to me is hellish.

This is the detrimental part. One has to equilibrate between sexual satisfaction and other satisfactions, otherwise it is a detriment to him.

Honestly, you can never have “too much value” because for men it’s about abundance and being able to have the most of things. So really the higher value you have, the more women will think you’re hot.
