Considering the idea of a "Red Pill" and a "Blue Pill" is from said movie do you think that any themes/ideas from this movie has influenced RP/BP thought?

Here is what I think

 

The movie is somewhat confused in the sense that one of the central themes is simulation and truth, but the way it goes about showing this is muddled. It builds up to a Baudrillard view only to do a heel face turn and settle on a platonic view. Since the movie concludes with the platonic view, and The Red Pill is influenced from the conclusion. I will discuss the platonic view of simulation and truth. For those not familiar with Plato's allegory of the cave.

 

It is about people who are imprisoned inside a cave since childhood(Not birth). The chains force them to only look forward. Behind the prisoners is a fire, and between the fire and the prisoners is a raised walkway with a low wall, behind which people walk carrying objects or puppets "of men and other living things". The prisoners can only see the shadows cast on the cave wall and the sounds of the people carrying these objects. The prisoners believe the shadows are real and that the shadows are making the sounds they hear. Plato supposes that should one of the prisoners escape and steps outside of the cave. He will see the the rocks, the grass, the water, the sky, and finally the sun. The light of the sun is what illuminates the truth and is what shows the prisoner the truth. There is a part where the prisoner goes back to the cave but it isn't really relevant to my view. More information on this page.

The Matrix has merely called the life inside the cave, as the "simulation" and the outside as "the real world" or "The Desert of the Real". The Red Pill has taken this a step further and has also assigned words to words. Life inside the cave is Blue Pill, the fire is feminist dogma, the sun, the thing which shows truth and dispels falsity, is The Red Pill. Under this view it is clear how these ideas influence RP thought. This is why RP discusses about how terrible it is to live in the "cave"(BP) and all of the false assumptions they made while still stuck in the cave. How there are post detailing how feminism is the backbone to these blue pill assumptions and the very nature of Blue Pill. Finally discussing various social trends and female behavior under the light of the Red Pill. This is a bit more far fetched, but this is also why TRP hypothesizes a mass exodus of prisoners from the cave, the destruction of the "fire" and of a world of prisoners seeing the truth.

One of the other "assumptions" of Plato's Cave allegory that the movie and by extension, The Red Pill and taken to be true, is the idea that truth and simulation is easily discernible. There is no question in The Matrix whether the characters are living in a simulation and when they are not. The same is true for The Red Pill, from the very glossary of TRP they have clear distinctions between blue pill and Red Pill. You will not see any hesitation from a RP'er should he be tasked with labeling ideas as either Blue Pill or Red Pill. These are what I believe to be the epistemological backbone of RP. Under this clear distinction is how TRP views enlightenment as merely the movement from blue pill to red pill. Viewing sexual results with women as "proof" that they have moved from Blue Pill to Red Pill.

The project of this rant is to try and view the RP through the lens of Plato, or more specifically through the lens of Plato's Cave. Then explaining various discussion habits and topics that TRP subreddit shows. This rant is really based on the premise that,

TRP is influenced by the Matrix.

The Matrix is influenced by Plato.(or Baudrillard if your acting in bad faith)
