Which transformative experience, if any, was it that made you join RPW? what was your redpill?

Not sure this counts, but I was born with it? I've been obsessed with the Victorian Era my whole life, so if you believe in reincarnation, perhaps that is me? I've always felt traditional, always wanted to dress nicely, be a wife and mother, look nice and play the part... even when my parents split when I was 12...that probably solidified it for me. I would only marry once, and be in it for better or worse.

My grandmother had shelves of knitting magazines in her guest bathroom, dating back to the 60's and I'd read them fervently. That might have been a factor too.

I came to RPW seeking a way to reconnect with my husband. After years of being “ships passing in the night” as we raised our kids, worked full time, and carved out a future we had become more like roommates than husband and wife. It was time for me to hang up my captain’s hat, sink my ship and take on the role of his first mate. Improvement didn’t happen overnight, and for the most part it was due to my struggling to hand over the reins. It was also due to his skepticism that I was willing to let him lead. I learned a great deal here about the importance of respect and admiration for a man and I had some moments of shame when I thought about some of my past behavior. The hardest thing I had to learn was that it is okay for me to depend on him to take care of me. The thing that surprised me was learning that he wanted to take of me.
Our circumstances have changed in the last couple of years and now we spend a lot of time in an environment where I am totally dependent on him for the basics of comfort. He loves that I am willing to live this way and he is the happiest I have ever seen him.

When I was younger I never felt like being a strong powerful career woman was for me, I felt like my life was meant to be me with a husband and children. I never though that would happen but I met my boyfriend and then I knew I’d be able to do it and I was able to slot comfortably into a traditional mindset.

I found RPW specifically through YouTube and then then came to this subreddit. It felt like a good fit for my ideas and I love it

I'd spent over 10 years in an on-and-off situation with a man that wouldn't love me. I thought I would rather be alone than with someone, but still wasn't happy. I realized that my way wasn't working and ended up stumbling on this sub (with a different username) and it turned everything around.

Now I'm actually happy and it's wonderful.

I found out about some of the big lies of feminism (wage gap, rape culture, etc) and that opened my eyes to what’s happening to our culture. It was at the same time that a lot of my other political beliefs were changing, I pretty much went from being a liberal to being a conservative with some libertarian leanings, and to my re-discovery of religion. This was 2-3 yeas ago.

I always had sympathies for guys, that it was a shit deal to be male in our society. I specialize in helping men feel seen, and evolving to be more stable, etc. Bewn doing that for 8 years.

But I was still mentally Bp; I was hanging out in liberal communities, and it... made sense. I felt trapped.

Then I met my Captain, who pointed me to RP. He appreciated my compassion for being male in our society, and is so much fun to be around. We don’t agree on everything, but it’s been a great compromise for my mental health.

My own feminist mother. I’m horrified of feminism because of her and because of the abuses she put me through under (now obvious) feminist statements she posts on the internet (“motherhood is patriarchy’s invention”, “no mother should be forced to love their child, that mother-and-child connection is a social construct”, “motherhood is oppression”). Also, when me, as a teenager, started hanging out with feminist friends online and offline and became paranoid and psychotic. I couldn’t have a normal relationship with my boyfriend, I couldn’t let him touch me and everything he did was seen by me as “abuse” (as in “all heterosexual relationships are abusive”, “penis in vagina is always rape” etc). I felt hurt, disgusted, victimized, felt his desire for me was something “misogynistic” and “sexist”. I needed therapy for that and my therapist had to make me see how extreme and unrealistic I was being and how sexuality is a normal part of a relationship. After I was healed, I deleted all my feminist friends from my social media and left all the feminist groups.
