My husband is recovering from a stroke and seems to be struggling with some areas of his thinking. He has become very careless about some things and that scares me when it comes to his and my safety. I have found I have to argue with him lately in order to get him to see reason. I only do this in matters that are essential such as preventing an accident, but it makes me sad because I hate questioning his decisions. To be honest I feel really bad for him right now. He lost his father and our 14 y…

Update to my update MY father-in-law passed away yesterday evening. I toured an assisted living facility I really liked and one my mother-in-law could afford. With my daughter on board, it was much easier than I thought to convince my husband and his sisters that this was the best option for their mom. I was able to provide them with facts, requirements, and answer their questions. When they compared them to the nursing home they had chosen, they agreed to arrange for her to go there instead. I …

I have been researching. It is difficult because the ratings are not consistent from site to site. I will take my mother in law to visit a couple of choices. She has difficulty get in and out of a vehicle so I will limit it to the 3 top choices. Thank you for your advice.

I plan to do that tomorrow. All three children are going over to talk to her and I will not be there. I will tell her she does not have to agree to anything right now. My daughter called and she is furious that they are ignoring her wishes. My son also is opposed to their plan. It is no longer a question of whether or not I am going to go against my husbands and his sister's preferences. I am. I just need to figure out how to do so in the most respectful manner possible.

No she is not safe in her home by herself. She is prone to falls. She relies on a walker. The house in not wheelchair friendly and cannot be made so with out major reconstruction. Plus she needs companionship with people her own age and activities.

I can honestly say that it is not an option for my mother-in law to live with us. We will all visit her frequently to make sure she is not mistreated. My opposition to the nursing home that her children are considering is that it is a skilled facility, a full fledged nursing home. I want to place her assisted living as long as she is mostly able to take care of herself and then move her into a nursing home environment. She has been taking care of herself and her husband until now.

Thank you so much for the encouraging words. I really do feel like I have gotten some of my self-confidence back and the future is looking brighter. So far I haven't caught any mice, but I haven't seen them either. My sister-in-laws are going to meet with admission people at the nursing home to talk about finances, time frames, etc. and I am not going to that meeting. I am trying to let three kids work it out and stay out of the picture unless they need my help. We have learned that my-in-laws w…

Hold onto your mental well being and allow yourself to NOT think about what the future holds for your marriage. It was very hard to admit that I was afraid that my husband would turn into his father, and truth be told he is every bit as stubborn, but he is not self-centered and he doesn't have his mean streak. My parents are a topic for another time. I am the only child in town out of five kids, so they have unreasonable expectations of my attention. My heart aches seeing my son under so much st…

Thank you. I know I have been pushing myself pretty hard and last night I realized that I cannot continue on like this. I feel guilty because my father-in-law wants my husband and me to visit and listen to him talk. He can't hear for shit, so it is a one way conversation. I know he doesn't have a lot of time left, but I am so angry at him right now because he is being so self-centered in regards to his wife, his grandson (who he tries to use as his personal errand boy)and his kids who he yells a…

We suggested the home care route, but my mother-in-law was very against it, saying she didn't want a stranger in her home. To be honest, I think she wants to go into a nursing home because she has been stuck at home with a cranky old man who can hear, can't eat much of anything, and is constantly complaining. At least in a care facility she would have human interaction, wouldn't have to cook and clean, and she could use a wheelchair instead of her walker.

Write a list of everything that you're going through right now and make a plan for how you want to manage our deal with every problem. I did this and it makes things seem more manageable. I have mouse traps set. We have an appointment set up to tour a nursing home next week. I am going to talk to my husband about hiring out some of the repairs on our home instead of doing it ourselves. And lastly, I am going to make some plans for a vacation for me and my husband. I am so sorry to hear this. It is tough on a marriage when a husband is home all day instead of going off to work. In my case, my husband and I butt heads when he starts telling me how to do my job, which I do perfectly well without his supervision. I tend to believe a lot of women experience these kinds of situations when their men are not busy managing their own lives. It is also hard to have him there when it interrupts your daily routines. I have found that my husband and I can share the sam…

The issue I have with this is: RPW supports the concept of bring your man your problem. There have not been many women writing to say this solved their problem. In your case it is "so your man didn't deal with your problem" then it's on you honey. So put on your big girl pants and face it. This is not fair. Of course I know life isn't fair, but it does seem that more sympathy was in order here. In fact there was a lack of empathy for both of you.

If you put the bait out and the mouse crawls away and dies and you don't find it right away, it will stink to high heaven. I know it seems horrifying to pick up a trap with a squished mouse, but it really can be over in a second. Maybe your guy will be cool with getting rid of the dead mouse even though a live one freaks him out. Worse comes to worse, put out the traps and when you catch one, pay a neighbor to get rid of them. Obviously start with a trap in the bathroom.

The first thing you need to do is discover where the food source is that your little uninvited guest is living on. We had mice one time because we left dry food in the dogs dish all the time, letting him eat when he wanted. I discovered after I started moving furniture that there was a huge pile of dry dog food under a book case. After you figure out what the mice are eating (and there is a good change it is more than one), and solve that problem, then you can set traps. There are catch and rele…

I had a awesome Easter Sunday. I went to church for the first time in over a year with my sister who came to visit. It was just the two of us. Her husband and kids opted out of church, as did my husband and kids. We didn't mind in the least. The rest of the day was spent enjoying family and good food and good weather. I, as OP, found so much joy in appreciating the good things that have come my way.

There are quite a few older posts that I would like to bring back around. I think this is a great idea. Why the continuous effort to reinvent the wheel based on each individual post? So many issues that come up here have been addressed in the past by wise women who have learned how to use the tools of RPW in their own lives. They speak from experience. If one were to find where on the darn sub we stashed the check list, she could follow it step by step, the heavens would part and she would be blessed with the most perfect blend of alpha-beta man that has ever walked the earth. It is surprising how many women come here seeking the magic formula to a perfect RPW lifestyle. They have their future all mapped out and all they have to is find a man who will fulfill their dreams. Instead they should wait until they fall in love with a man before plan…

When you're lost, you're lost. I personally would rather take five minutes and stop and ask than to drive around for an hour. However, someone pointed out to me once that the destination is not important to men. It is the drive itself that matters. I guess there is a certain satisfaction to finding the way on your own. That is fine on a Sunday drive. It can drive women crazy when you have some place to be.

Thank you for this. It explains a lot and it makes sense. That surety, that you are close to finding your bearings and do not want to loose your focus by stopping for directions, further strengthens my belief that men hold to their instinctive abilities to set a course and follow it. Women are perfectly willing to alter the course if inconveniences pop up. Men may feel incompetent when they have to ask for directions, but women will see you as incompetent when you don't.

I think the flipside of it is also true- as women, we sometimes see our husbands thinking in a big-picture way and we mistake it for being egotistical. Oh absolutely! Although I would not describe it as egotistical as such. I think it is more to do with the tendency of not understanding the significance of the events that affect us so much in our world because they do not have the same vantage point. It is the same when we as women do not understand the impact of events in their world because it…

Just wanted to also add that many dominant men can be laid back. My husband just isn't one of them. Each has different temperaments. I hope you will follow up with a post asking about the benefits of alpha/dominate males. This is only one side of the equation.
/r/RedPillWomen08/03/21 01:29 AM

I totally agree there really is no such thing as an alpha. It is more a matter of dominance. Sometimes stubbornness and pride can be a part of that. That doesn't mean a man cannot exhibit sensitivity. I think that stoicism is a mans way to protect his woman and family from worrying about the things that he worries about.

I have found, as others have said, that my husband hates to admit he is wrong. He is also slow to apologize. Most of the time it is over little things and I walk way, roll my eyes, and ignore it. If it is an issue that is important to me or my family, then I will stand my ground until we reach a compromise. However, this has to be done in a respectful manner. He is very rarely disrespectful to me unless he very angry about something I did that crossed a red line. I am the one that has a temper, …

This has meant that TRP has ended up structured much more like a university, while RPW is structured much more like an advice column. At first this statement seemed demeaning, but after thinking about it, I realize it is true. There are many posts asking for help, but few posts sharing what has been learned. I still get responses that could be applied generally to other women This is a win win, you get the answers you seek and other women benefit from them

So ask these questions, but do so in manner that will benefit more women than just yourself. We all seek answers to these questions. If you present your questions in a way that opens the discussion to many women, instead of focusing on the specific answers that only pertain to you, it will garner many more valuable responses.

They should be given links to services in their area. This entails a great deal of time and effort to provide links to God knows how many areas that would need to be researched. Whisper asked for a poster to do exactly this after she suggested it and it never materialized.
/r/RedPillWomen05/03/21 03:12 AM

Yeah these posts need to be closely monitored, but if there’s too many that can be hard to do. Monitored by whom? This is not some kind of affiliated site under the watch of so called professionals. Instead it is a place for women to connect, share there experiences, and learn from each other. If women are seeking professional advice they sure as hell are not going to find it on reddit. Furthermore, if you are a professional, you are not going to dispense advice on reddit.
/r/RedPillWomen05/03/21 03:01 AM

I think professionals working in this space should be the only ones to advise a women on how to respond/ next steps in evaluating the risks of non-action, or exiting an abusive relationship. That is the ideal scenario, but it is not realistic. How many professionals visit this site? The next best thing is to listen to the voice of experience, and glean the nuggets of wisdom you find.

I don't think stars are the answer. You can get a A on a paper, because you were able to write about the said topic. It doesn't mean you have mastered the course. Besides, I don't think it is a matter of endorsed contributors. I think women want to know more about the other women here. What is wrong with flairs that give some kind of insight into who you are interacting with?

To me, the psychology of it is simple. People who invented social media quickly realized how addictive it was. This is because of the rush, the feel good response to positive feedback that hooks people and every "like" or "upvote" adds to the temporary high and furthers the addiction. I would not be here is I did not have some form of addiction to social media. Because my husband is not one to talk much about his feelings, I have learned over the years to ignore his moments of acting like an ass and not to take it personally. If I am patient it almost always comes down to something else that is bothering him and he will tell me about it. Sometimes it is only after an hour or so. If his mood doesn't change after several hours, then I will go to him and just give him a hug and tell him I hope whatever has him so upset is resolved soon. Sometimes he will …

I think that there maybe some underlying resentment on his end that he is not telling you about. Maybe he doesn't even know what it is if he hasn't done any self-reflection. He is acting like a toddler and you can't reason with a toddler. If he wants to pout and whine, ignore him. One suggestion I would have for nun mode is to find a project to complete that doesn't require much concentration so it allows you to think of other things while you are working. A task that keeps your hands and body busy while your mind figures things out. Examples: sanding and painting a thrift store piece of furniture, knitting, weaving, making soap, cooking without following a recipe, gardening, and so on. I am sure that are other great ideas. Being a redpilled wife is not my only option. Being a redpilled wife is dependent on the man you fall in love with, the man you marry. It is a skill set to keep some men happy, in fact most men happy, but it does require work on the man's part to give his partner what she needs to be motivated to use these skills. I never said a woman should be submissive to a man who could not be a provider. Instead I was pointing out that there are times that a man cannot provide due to life's circumstances an…

There is no liberal feminist or conservative equation in this. A successful marriage requires that both partners come to the table ready to work for the benefit of the team using the skills and knowledge they have. The more skills and knowledge each brings offers more opportunity for the marriage to survive. Being a redpilled wife doesn't give you an excuse to sit on your ass and let your man handle life while you work on being beautiful and the goddess of fun and light. I don't know how you thi…

Don’t play hard to get, BE hard to get. Because hard to get is hard to keep So there seems to be an opposite message with these two statements, but they are actually spot on in terms of the chase. The first is a positive. Work on being the best you can be in all areas of your life. The second is a warning. Do not get so wrapped up in improving yourself that you forget to appreciate the good things in front of you and savor the day to day pleasures, which is what a man most wants from his woman.

I agree that the issue of young readers here (those under the age of 20) should be considered. I think there should be some kind of guidance that stresses how much their ideas about life will change and encourages them to take the time to grow up before making life plans based on their current perceptions.

If there is no danger of it being a problem later in your work environment, go for it. Come up with a reason to get together after you both leave your jobs and ask him out. What is the worst that can happen? He may not be interested in a romantic relationship and make an excuse to turn you down, but that is better than not knowing if it was possible. It is not unfeminine to ask a man to an event if you approach it the right way. Some women think a man should always be the one to ask a woman out,…

It sounds like you want to be a member of a high value rich man’s harem. You won’t have to work, you can have fun all the time with no responsibilities, and you’ll have a big happy family. Go on over to TRP if this is what you want. I am sure they will steer you in the right direction, but I ‘ll bet you’ll have to give up your celibacy and learn some sexual skills. WTF? Needless to say, weight was a huge issue in our household and my siblings and I, as well as my father were under her watch. She worried that we were too thin or overweight. What I learned from this experience is to ignore the whole watching your weight obsession and instead listen to what my body tells me it needs. It has changed tremendous…

I agree with u/teaandtalk . If a KitchenAid is something you really want and will use and you know you are always going to want it, then buy it yourself. I waited a long time for a string of pearls and finally bought them myself. I have worn them so much they have been restrung twice. Just wait to buy one when it is on sale and you can afford it.

Consider that in the light of this idea that a man's actual self might not want sex as much as his body demands it. This was an eye opener for me. This is one example (for me personally)where a male perspective gives me a new understanding of how a man feels in his own body.

Literally, MY guy. He had everything on my list. All of it. Our first date was amazing. Three hours never went so quickly and half way through we were disabling our dating profiles together. He just picked up his phone, opened the app we’d met on and said right, I don’t need this any more. Do you? I took his lead and did the same. A week later I had his house keys, his credit card and was driving round in his car. That’s how quickly we moved. He walked out of his last 9 year relationship because…

First off masculinity has nothing to do with this. You are hurt by your mothers mean comments and in spite of this you still love her and that makes the situation harder to face. Sometimes mothers are overly critical of their children when they are worried about their welfare because they project their own insecurities on to them. The kindest thing you can do for yourself and for her is to cut her tie to you, which is to control you and expect you to live up to her expectations. You need to live…

Don't give up hope. There are men out there who want marriage and a family. As to where you meet them, sometimes it is in unexpected places. Don't be afraid to talk to men who approach you in Home Depot or the coffee shop. Even if they are not someone who is your type, it does not hurt to engage in conversation. The more you work to make yourself approachable, the more it will come naturally and the more men will feel comfortable in striking up a conversation. Of course this means using common s…

One small piece of advice I would suggest is to look around your apartment or your room or what ever place you live in and find the things in that space that bring you joy. Then work to create a room or apartment that you love to come home to without going into debt. When you achieve this you are on the first step toward appreciating what you have because you worked for it and also being grateful for what you have. This is the secret to being happy. Constantly wanting new and better things in li…

Perhaps we consider the term "role model" differently. I do not understand "role model" to mean "awesome person". I consider it to mean, "a person whose path I would like to follow." Fair enough. When you put it in these terms I can see how we differ in perspective. I would not choose ACB's path but I still view her as a role model because she is a woman who crossed the finish line on a pretty hard steep journey to get where she is today.

What I do resent is that when I tell people my long-term plan is to be a stay-at-home mom, many people feel the need to say, "you can be a Mom and have a career, too!" However, I'm tired of successful women being used as proof that women should try to "have it all." I think a lot of women have trouble juggling home and work, and are happier when they commit themselves to the home. They are to be admired because they manage to achieve what many of us cannot. You can have respect for their accomplishments without feeling any res…

I found this post interesting and immediately thought of a post from a few weeks back by u/lawyercatgirl: May Every Woman Find Her Marty Ginsberg Here is a comment from u/jonmarli Part of what draws me to RP is not some tradcon domestic bliss fantasy (and it certainly isn't the "TRP" misogyny) but rather my appreciation for an approach to relationships that tries to disconnect from the status quo and make truly neutral observations based on what works. Thanks for the info. My husband taught himself. One of the skills that was most useful to me was sewing. I have made draperies, roman shades, comforters, bed skirts, pillows, cushions and altered and repaired clothing. I took a continuing ed course at a local high school on re-upholstering furniture and saved a fortune buying and recovering used furniture. I even had fun changing the style of a couch by cutting down the frame. I was confident enough to try this because I had also taken a class in simple wood working techniques from the same h…

I have to admit I was pretty ignorant about investing until a couple of years ago. Fortunately once I was ready to learn, my husband guided me through buying and selling in the market with some of my retirement investment. I never thought I would see the day when once again women make a conscious decision to be completely helpless as a means of survival. Today, career focused women work independently, outside the home, with the purpose of advancing their own career or self actualization goals. Yes this true. And again I would like to point out that I am not bringing up the question of whether a woman should have a career. Do you mean I am reacting to the fear of pulling the trigger because I now know there will a recoil? Why would I not do the same thing when firing the 22? Is it because the recoil is so much less? I was really hoping it was a simple thing like not gripping the pistol the right way and that maybe the trigger was too stiff. I am going to find a gun range that will let me try out the smith and Wesson and hope I do better with that gun.

I am afraid it would not work for most men because it goes against the instilled idea that to be a provider means bringing home a paycheck. The secret is not to wait to have that first baby until you are established in your career which is where many women go wrong. If you are good at what you do, your employer will accomodate your pregnancy and some will even give you more flexible hours.

Looking back, would you change anything if you had the chance? If I could go back I would get my MFA instead of the second degree in education. At the time school districts were not hiring starting teachers with masters degrees because they had to pay then too much. How do you think your education make you a better mother? First and foremost because I valued my education I instilled in my children the expectation that they were to take school seriously and try their hardest. I spent many nights …

I have two college degrees: one in fine arts and one in education. Both of these degrees allowed me a career with a decent income and benefits, as well as money on the side when I was a SAHM. The thing I would like to stress is that I went to college to study a field I loved ever since being a child and picking up a pencil to create my first drawing. I had a true love of learning and I still do. There will be people who say you can learn from books or the internet, but it is not the same as inte…

When I first started dating my husband I was a little concerned that he was a cheapskate, not because he didn't pay for dates, but because he picked inexpensive places to go. What I didn't realize was how tight money was for him, as a 22 year old man who lived completely on his own and paid all his own expenses, compared to other men his age who still lived at home. Now I am so grateful that he has been so frugal with money and has taught me the value of a dollar as well. We live with in our mea…

My parents and my best friend’s in laws can’t handle their new “downgrade” to supportive role rather than the family center. This is a very thought provoking comment. The grandma used to be the matriarch when families lived close to each other and her home was the gathering spot for family gatherings. Now days this is no longer true. So the idea of all the kids and grandkids coming home for Christmas can be an unrealistic expectation. This is just one example. I think the best way to approach th…

I feel like she over thinks things. When we moved into this house we had a three year old and soon to arrive new born twins. The lawn was dead so my husband cut the grass with the weed wacker that summer. One example of submission for me was giving my husband final say on the first house we bought. I hated it. It was out dated and drab and the yard was in terrible shape and.... I could go on and on. He meanwhile had checked out the grade of the lot, the plumbing, the foundation and ....I could go on and on. To make a long story short we have made that ugly house into a beautiful home and it has been good to us for many years. Soon we will sell it and downsize and it will break my heart to do so. …

I don't think you are describing submission. You are basically saying each partner has equal opportunity to say no in the relationship. If that is the case there is no leader, no one with the authority in the end to make the decision. This means clashes and stalemates which does not lead the relationship forward.

I know of the Madonna/Whore complex but it seemed too extreme. I never thought of it from the” lady in the street, a slut in the sheets” perspective. When I was thinking of dichotomies it was things like wanting a quiet tame woman and wanting a firecracker. Wanting a city woman and a country girl. Wanting an extrovert when he took her out into public and an introvert at home. Men have fantasies as well, but mostly those are about how attractive she is, and how well she treats him. Oh no! Say it ain’t so! An interesting question to ask is why are males like this written into a story that is designed to be a woman's romantic fantasy? Sorry to hear they ruined Sabrina the teenage witch. However what is really funny and interesting is that while each novel tends to attempt to get more 'progressive' they actually usurp themselves ultimately with the old archetypes which often support/ reflect redpill values. I haven't had any real trouble separating the myth from the man. In my case it was the myth that kept me from noticing the romantic things that he WAS doing, like fixing the heater in my car for instance, to keep me safe and warm. If you can afford it, a duvet cover for warm months in lightweight cotton and flannel one or quilted one for winter works really well and they get less wear and tear. They can be pricey but if you take the time and scroll on Amazon you can find them on sale. If you can sew you can make them from sheets that are one size bigger than the comforter. I think it involves first of all seeing the emotions as that - emotions. Not about whether they are right or wrong, but that they are emotions first and foremost. Exactly. /r/RedPillWomen04/03/20 12:10 AM

Exactly. A man recieves a woman's submission because of his behavior. He is not entitled to it simply because he is male. It is not based on what worked in the past. It is based on his actions in the present.

Well my husband shows he loves me in the best way he knows how, but flirting is not his forte. To be fair my girl game is sub par also. Maybe I need to explore this idea of gaming from a new perspective and see it's advantages.
/r/RedPillWomen03/03/20 10:43 PM

I can't argue with that. It is a definite way to keep the fire burning. But in spite of RP belief that women do not have the capacity to be loyal and submissive unless they are gamed or maintained or handled, I for one give my submission freely because I can see the man my husband is without any pretenses. He is worthy of my respect because of who he is, and he gets my devotion because he does not demand it.

This comment was not directed to me, but I am going to respond anyway. The problem of the dating market today is not male feminists. It is males who were raised by feminists. Males who never had an example of acting like a man. Males who think that they are men and dominant because they get a hard dick and can toss their women around the bedroom.

If you have a man who tells you he wants you to look across at him instead of up to him, he is telling you he wants you as a capable partner, one who can handle responsibility and is dependable. He is telling you that he does not want to be responsible for things that you should be responsible in accomplishing. To me this is dominant behavior because he has expections that he feels you should meet. He says other things like he wants a normal adult relationship. To me submission is a normal adult…

He was incredibly sorry, and I could tell he regretted what he did. He wanted me to lay out all my concerns and he addressed them all with solutions. He said he will give me time, but he wants me back. I tried to warn you about this: Do not take him back. You will be here again before long moaning about how bad things are. In the mean time you have wasted time you could have used to improve your life.

The best way to hold a converation is to know what you are talking about. That means being well read. Instead of spending your time on facebook, check out both liberal and conservative news, read about what is going on in the art world, in finance, in your community. Be quiet until something sparks your interest. If it is something you know about, add to the conversation.

Oh for the love of God! Enough of this teenage agony. It is normal to fall in love and have your heart broken when you are a teen-ager. It is how you find your direction in life. It is part of growing up and should be a learning experience; one that wakes you up. It is not a reason to seek therapy.

No matter how down you may be feeling, don't allow yourself to stop going to the gym. It will be the best thing to keep you from starting to feel any self pity. You will have the satisfaction of sticking to something that brings positive results and you are increasing your SMV in the mean time.

You absolutely had no choice except to leave this man. He will never change and most likely would only continue to grow worse. There are many good men who can give you the relationship you are looking for, including marriage. Write this off as a mistake and learn from it. And under no circumstances take him back. He may come to you and swear he will change, but you know it will not happen. It will not be easy to start over, but you can do it with the help of your family and friends. Think of it …

I found it. There are many models out there. I think this might be the answer for me. I would certainly feel much much better if I knew that all he had to do was push an SOS button and I could find him. This way I won't worry about freak accidents and dire emergencies. If you could find the model number of the one you have I would greatly appreciate it. Some of them are very expensive. I just need the basics. Thank you again.

I came to RPW seeking a way to reconnect with my husband. After years of being “ships passing in the night” as we raised our kids, worked full time, and carved out a future we had become more like roommates than husband and wife. It was time for me to hang up my captain’s hat, sink my ship and take on the role of his first mate. Improvement didn’t happen overnight, and for the most part it was due to my struggling to hand over the reins. It was also due to his skepticism that I was willing to le…

Worrying about unforeseen accidents is stupid and beyond my control. I am going to ask him to text me every couple of hours when he is alone hunting or working on heavy equipment and then I am going to let it go. Just for the record, he also worries about me. I think what I am going to do is combine both of these strategies and take him my problem to say: Worrying about you is stressful. And I worry about you is because I am vulnerable. Both of these statements are true. I know he loves me and the fact that I am vulnerable would erase the concept of if my request is necessary. I know this puts my husband in such a bad light and I do not mean to. He is a pragmatist, raised by a pragmatist.

My husband does dangerous stuff all the time because of his occupation. I would also say that the flip side to a woman is like water is that if you want a woman to be virtuous, a man must be a virtuous shaped container. Women are like water says that you don't deserve anything. I am not sure if you are saying women don't deserve anything or men don't deserve anything. Great post. Further, you need to know which tool is the right tool for any given situation. If you are partnered up, it’s very easy to find the right tool. Ask your man. I found this out this past weekend in the most literal sense. After spending an hour with a hammer and a crowbar trying to pry some boards loose from an old pallet I gave up. My husband noticed when I put it in the burn pile. He pulled out the chain saw and had all the boards loose in less than five minutes.

A lack of strong fathers is a pretty good explanation, but it doesn't cover all of it. I think sex has become extremely distorted in today's culture and both genders are seeking an experience that has to get more and more intense to satisfy them. Chances are if she is she will insist that you both get tested before you do. Otherwise you can ask about LTR relationships she had and why they failed. That is an area that can open up a discussion about what you both want in a relationship. If you are not interested in a relationship then you do not belong here asking adv…

Here is my take on this: An older woman, no matter how attractive will be invisible when she is with a young attractive woman. However, she may very well stand out when she is alone or with women her own age. You are actually doing your sister a disservice by taking her to bars with you if your are going to talk to men. Her two year old went to daycare every day, so I only had to watch her son who just yesterday turned three months. I had forgotten how time intensive it is to take care of an infant. I hope things are going well for you. I thank you for your suggestion. I cannot find that book or any book by that aut…

Yes I learn by listening. I don't learn a thing listening to you. I don't know why you are so threatened by a thread that discusses feminism. Why do you resort to an authoritarian attitude and dismiss a movement which did happen and did change over time? I really would like to come to an understanding of how things went so off the rails. I personally don't see it in my life or my daughters life. I have two new daughter in laws and I sure hope I don't see it in their lives. And I do recognize tha…

So okay... TRP does not approve of feminism. We all get that. However that does not give you justification to rant and remind us when we are only discussing the many variations of feminism. How do we learn if we do not talk about it? I for one was too busy raising kids to even notice second wave feminism.

I really don't think in terms of equality. I think in terms of strengths and weakness and recognizing where you can find a balance that benefits both people in the relationship. Sometimes that strength is a natural talent, sometimes it is hard knocks learned. It doesn't matter. What does matter is that both people in the relationships can trust their mate to use their strength when the time is right and to admit their weakness when it is called for.

When I was twelve I was not allowed to deliver the graduation speech I was asked to write for the ceremony for eight graders entering into high school. It was held in the Catholic church and because I was female and prohibited from stepping on to the altar to stand at the podium, I was replaced by an eight grade boy who read my speech. I never received any credit for that speech. The reason first wave feminism was necessary is because it pointed out that women were being overlooked simply becaus…

Oh for pity's sake. When did common sense fly out the window. There is a big difference between respecting your man and letting him lead and sitting by and watching him fuck up with out saying a word. Any man worth his salt will appreciate when his woman points out when his actions might be costly and detrimental if it is presented in a respectful manner.

And it is the Michael Thunders who start the old money families and the cycle repeats. I think what is import to point out is the role that Michael Thunder's wife plays in this scenario. She is the woman who is happy to start out in humble beginnings because she loves her husband and trusts that he will take care of her and her children, but she also enters into the marriage knowing that she will have to pull her own weight. She is going to have to figure out her own talents and how to use them …

There are no guarantees in life. Michael might not reach his potential, just as a boy who is given very advantage in life might fuck it up. Just don't dismiss Michael because he comes from a working class background.

Yes Michael Thunder does come from a working class community. He may leave that community as he makes his way or he may decide to stay there and do his best to improve what he can. The point is that a man can start with nothing and end up with a good life if he sets his sights on it. I think that is where the idea of a good captain fits.

I have seen 4 year old girls in full mean girl mode. I think it is an innate quality in females. Unlike boys, who will fight and then an hour later be friends again, girls can drag out the unpleasantness for days. The sad thing is that the girl who was tormented and cried her heart out over the mistreatment will turn around and be a mean girl to the next vulnerable target just to keep her newly won acceptance back into the fold. I don't know about the biological adaptation idea. Perhaps it grew …

Men, by our very nature, engage in a great deal of conflict, and hence we have developed both hardwired and cultural protocols for limiting it, what is and isn't appropriate, etc. I never understood the difference in men's interaction with other men when compared to women's interaction with other women until I started lurking on the RP. I think the whole "seven year itch" struggle in a marriage is a time when a woman who has only had one sexual partner begins to really wonder what else is out there. She may love her husband, and still regret her marriage because she feels like a part of her education was interrupted. A woman who has a little taste of other men will have an understanding of her sexual preferences and she can be reassured that she chose the best man and be happy with her choice.

I can't say what the RPW stance on a prime marrying age would be. My answer would be when the time is right, because you really don't have any say about when. It is the man's decision in the end. You can do your best to make it happen when you find the man you feel is right to marry, but he might not feel the same way. So you move on, keep your heart open, learn from your mistakes, and give another man a chance. However, this does not mean bouncing from one man to another. It means being selecti…

The reason so many RP male advocates stress virginity is because they believe it is a asset in the sense that if they are the first and the last there is no doubt as to the father of the children. However, I don't think most men get off on the idea of taking a woman's virginity. It is typically not a fun romp in the sack. I recommend doing whatever you feel is right. I guess my feathers are ruffled, because I still need to comment on this post. I don’t know the statistics, but I have to believe it is the rare woman who perceives her vagina as a thing. Now breasts, yes, many of us may consider things. Things we need to find a bra to fit, things that are too big or too small depending on one’s self image, and lastly things that function beyond our control: hardening nipples, swelling during periods, and releasing milk upon hearing a babies cry. Because there is only one sexual act you can perform that men object to. Everything else, absent that one act, is okay, and often more than okay. Next time ask if the relationship is investing anything in you. It is a good goal to make a man happy, if he is a man who is worthy of your devotion. You are only twenty six and have time to find a man who will love you for being feminine and protect your vulnerability. There are many good men who are looking for a woman like you, but you have been locked into …

My husband is man who can whistle as he goes about his day, even if he is worried sick about something. This sometimes blows my mind. I can manage to get through my day if something is really bothering me, but in spite of my efforts to hide it, everyone knows I am upset.

We could be different, but I'd suspect that more than looks drew your to your man. Actually it was a combination of good looks and his devil may care attitude that infatuated me at first. I was only eighteen so ideas about what kind of provider or father he would be never entered my mind. I only cared about having a fun sexy boyfriend and he was that. I was completely in love with him, but it took a few years to truly love him. Of course until this time I did experience hypergamy (did not act on…

I need to further explain my original thought. I look at my husband and see a look, or a mannerism and I see the man I fell in love with when he was 22 years old. I see him so often not as the successful competent man he is , but the wild handsome boy who stole my heart so many years ago. My love for him has never been contingent on his success, it has always been there from day one. I don't know if this is due to pair bonding or a reverse wife goggles effect. I am just trying to make sense of t…

I sent a really long response to this and lost it before I hit reply. In short I said that the effects of familiarity did not diminish my attraction. Instead it was endearing to me because it gave proof that I was giving my husband a safe place to land. I guess my concern about how I measure up in regards to wife goggles is due my desire that my sons also see me in a favorable light. I am wondering how I can see myself through his eyes. Does this make sense? I am married to a man who rarely says…

If a man sees his wife through wife goggles, does that negate the idea that other men see his wife as attractive? If you only want to answer one of my questions, please answer this one. If my husband sees me through wife goggles does that mean it is in spite of how other men look at me or does the fact that I am am attractive make him continue to wear the wife googles?

> I felt better when I realized I’m not interested in any way in men who view fertility and youth as what makes a woman high value and attractive. I too have no interest in meeting the standards of men who think this way, but I do want be a high value attractive woman in the eyes of my husband, my sons, and other men in my family.

So is this different from wife googles? Does familiarity amplify a woman's state of attractiveness also? Or does it breed contempt? Are you saying a man who looks the exact same way who does not have competence and confidence does not appear attractive? Do you believe women and other men can tell immediately if a man is competent? One last question: If a man sees his wife through wife goggles, does that negate the idea that other men see his wife as attractive?

It is not an easy thing to age as a woman when so much emphasis is placed on youth and fertility as a measuring stick for female beauty. However, there are beautiful older woman and even young men will acknowledge that from purely aesthetic non sexual point of view. I believe it is the zest for life and a personal style that makes these women stand out and that is what I am striving for.

Reply Give Award share report Thank you for the encouragement. I will continue to comment when I feel I can make a worthwhile contribution. I do have a little advice to pass on that has been very advantageous in my marriage. One example; My husband is not a big man. He is 4 inches taller than I am, but he has never easily picked me up and carried me, even though I have always weighed less than him. I am also small framed. When I met him, he had a 30 inch waist and I could just barely fit in his …

Wow! It is great to hear from another seasoned wife and mother. I often feel like a dinosaur reading here. When they talk about the wall, I think I should be dead and buried beneath it. Good for you for trying to step up your game! That is why I visit here. Hope to hear more from you.

You probably do look 25. And you may continue to look younger than your age for a while and I hope you do. Just keep in mind that your time frame for children is limited. I have seen the heartbreak of three women who in their late thirties who could not conceive. Finally with fertility treatments and a great deal of money they were able to bring one child into the world.

My mother is 83, a size 6, walks every day,and has a schedule that makes my head swim. She is devoted to my father, but she runs circles around him in terms of her need for social interaction. So she finds it by volunteering and card clubs and so forth. She has never for one second considered herself old, but she does go on about what age has done to her body. At the same time she accepts it and is grateful for her good health. I will never forget when Santa Claus hit on her when she and I took …

Other lies we tell ourselves: This serum, procedure, diet, fitness program will turn back the clock. There are no magic formulas that stave off aging. The greatest secret is managing to age gracefully. There are women who seem to have figured it out. I think it is a combination of attitude toward life and staying active. But most of all I think it is their acceptance of their age. They do their best to be attractive and then they say fuck it.

You never said if your husband was happy at his job. Is he? Perhaps he hates it. Is he in a position where he has a lot of responsibility and little authority? Those kind of jobs can take the wind out of a man's sails in a hurry. There is nothing more defeating than to be held accountable for situations where you have no control or final say. Maybe it is spilling over into his family life.

I think the next level is learning to work as a team. By that I mean recognizing each person's strengths and weaknesses and allowing the person who is best suited to a task or solving the problem to lead. I also think that cultivating a few mutual interests is essential to learning to be a good team.

What I find fascinating is the obsession of the manosphere to return to the 1600's when men owned their women, thus reined in their evil behavior and in consequence lead to a time of golden advancement and stability. They wish to return to a time of kings, believing that they will be in the ruling class.

It is about self improvement. The irony is that the posts that talk about self improvement that don't pertain specifically to banging women or lifting are down voted.

Are you forgetting that this entails bringing a child into the world? You are suggesting using another human being to gain access to material wealth with no concern for the welfare of that human being. Sure the child may have material advantages, but they won't make up for how fucked up his/her childhood will be.

So I put a good homemade meal on the table and while he was eating I casually mentioned that I was sorry I was disrespectful yesterday. I asked him if it was my tone of voice that was upsetting or my comment. It was my tone of voice. I told him I was not aware of it at the time. He said he knew I wasn't and he accepted my apology and that was it. He was a lot more cheerful after that. Thank you for allowing me to work this out in my head. It helped me to follow through on what I needed to do.

Here’s the thing. Right now my hamster is standing up with both arms spread to block the cage door because I can stay in my comfort zone if I do nothing. If I go through the door I might not like what is on the other side. Being a person who hates a fight of any kind, I recognize that sometimes they are healthy. I also secretly believe that my husband enjoys a fight on occasion and he misses the times when we did fight. Please understand that our fights were/are never physical or abusive, but th…

You are correct in that the fact I am not sure what upset him is a good reason to bring it up and apologize. I will address the issue tonight. I don't foresee any tears. I just hope the reminder of the incident doesn't get him upset all over again. Thank you for your advice.

I think it is harmful because it assumes that the worst case scenario is the norm. It makes everything so dark and dramatic which is rather addictive because it taps into the desire of so many of these young men for emotional connection. The sad thing is that they lose hope for sunshine. And the sun still comes up every day even if it is hidden by clouds.

>They post the worst examples of female behavior the entire world over and shake their heads at how all women are like that. >They are taught that a relationship only works if you recognize the truth that women are actually children who must be controlled and punished, not a partner to share life with. A woman is not a child. She has free will, a conscience and the capacity to make sound decisions. There are tendencies that the red pill points out about women “that they call truths” that I recog…

At the moment I can not give an objective response to that question. I can't think of any right now, but my scope is limited. What I do know is that women have succeeded in bringing their own ladders and have found great success in what were once male dominated fields: the arts, law, medicine, business, etc. I suppose the downside of this is that there are many women who do not want to do the work of carrying their own ladder, and instead just expect to climb a ladder that awaits them because th…

I do not believe that the shelves should ever be lowered. That would erode standards that need to be there to ensure quality control. However, if a person wants to try and meet those standards what is lost in letting them do so? And if they succeed then they deserve to reach the shelves. Furthermore it encourages healthy competition. When women are put in an atmosphere that demands they meet the standards they will either succeed and belong there or they will not. But it is counterproductive to …

No it really isn't about the shelves. It is the idea that if you can't reach the shelves without assistance then you don't deserve to gain what is on those shelves. Much as you would put a toy out of a child's reach. But some children still manage to get a hold of that toy. And there are women who will find a way to reach those shelves and will do it using whatever skills they can figure out how to use at the time. It would be better to allow her a ladder she carries on her own to reach the shel…

>Men did not choose to be taller than women. So, whose victims are women? Nature? Maybe I can buy that idea. And I have a problem then why must we help her and put shelves lower? There are many women who do not expect men to lower the shelves. However we will get pissed of if you do not give us room to set up the step ladder.
