The movie "Gone Girl" was incredible, and filled with so much TRP and MRA. Go see it now (no spoilers)

I can only think of 1 self-made billionaire woman and it's Oprah

[–]Fallout99 43 points44 points45 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Pretty sure JK Rowling, creator of Harry Potter, made it as well. But gave a lot away

They didn't exactly create exactly rocket science...

exactly exactly exactly

Keep talking shit about two women who are more successful than you will ever hope to be bud

[–]forgotmypa55word 18 points19 points20 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't get your panties in a bunch over 2 women that have done well for themselves. Lucky or not, feels or not, they are self made billionaires. Why don't you try making half of what they made and still talk shit.

AWALT applies to sexual strategy. When it comes to business, personality types become more important. The 4 I follow are Amiable, Expressive, Driven and Analytical.

Driven women succeed in business but not in the sexual market place, that's why there is less of them. Driven men succeed in business AND the sexual market place, that's why there is more of them.

I wonder what feminists would say if

They would blame the patriarchy in a twisted way, as always.

[–]theprofessorsnumber29 points 11 years ago [recovered] (7 children) | Copy Link

"White, cis males are the cause of all the worlds problems!"

[–][deleted] 22 points23 points24 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Congratulations you just figured out the equivalent of a womyn's studies degree.

[–]HerculestheRed 13 points14 points15 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That'll be $87,000 and a handshake.

[–]ubercoolhipsterguy 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

At least college helped me explain why the only job I can get is waiting tables. It's the patriarchy!

[–]nomorelulu 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Tbh I'm tempted to take a women's studies class just to see if it's as brutal as people claim.

What's more frustrating is the students. The teacher is usually a bit more reserved and tries to support their point with a few facts. While we might disagree with the interpretation of those facts, there is a reasoned discussion. But the other students, they just pile on the agreement (with the teacher) or vitriol (to any who disagree) with senseless non sequitur and BS talking points with made up statistics. It comes so fast and rudely, that it takes a lot of talent for 1 person to stand up against all of that. And even the most eloquent and informed won't change minds, or will be called hateful names. It is wrestling with a pig. Its not worth it.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It is. I literally just said, intersectionality or explained it on every assignment and got a 100%. I had a 100% average going into a written final after writing five 100% papers before it and ended up with an A-. The only way I could have gotten an A- was if I got less then a 40% on the final. To this day I think I got an A- and not an A because I was male.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Where can I sue them? I feel offended and my feelings are very hurt from their patriarchy blaming, I feel thought raped. Where is the nearest courthouse for easy bank?

[–]HS-Thompson 44 points45 points46 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

It's not all that related to TRP theory because it's irrelevant to TRP theory. The reality is that almost everyone on those lists, male or female, had tremendous inherited advantages. That's just how the world works.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

self-made vs. inheritance is a big difference though.

[–]Neverd0wn -4 points-3 points-2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How is it a big difference, it's all relative: the person that starts from nothing and becomes a millionaire is not necessary doing better than the person who inherits a million and becomes a billionaire.

[–]Skiffbug 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I second this depending on how the male numbers check out. It's pointless to bust out a number like this without context.

[–]occupythekitchen 8 points9 points10 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I would suggest reading this to see what the utopia view of an all female world would really be like.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1168182/Catfights-handbags-tears-toilets-When-producer-launched-women-TV-company-thought-shed-kissed-goodbye-conflict-.html

Women are social creatures not workers, they compete with other women if they don't have male presence to control their catty behavior it just snowballs. Truth is women have and will always need men more than men need women

[–]nomorelulu 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There was this hot chick in one of my classes this year who had a tattoo of a fish on a bike - an obvious reference to the feminist slogan "a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle." I'll probably never forget that girl, her tattoo, and how foolish she is.

[–][deleted] 23 points24 points25 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Most of the wealthiest males inherited some sort of wealth as well. Bill Gates wasn't exactly poor. Sure it was amazing that he ballooned that wealth, but I don't believe any rich guy got to the top with just hard work and sweat like some like to preach. I think a little manipulation, theft, and hunger goes a long way.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Also, there are a LOT of males that are given family businesses and run it into the ground.

[–]ioncloud9 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

There are 7 billion people on the planet and citing one person that its possible for anyone to go rags to riches is a horrible example. Its highly unlikely. You have better odds playing the lottery everyday than ever being a self made billionaire through hard work. Self made millionaire is possible though. Most of these ultra rich people have had lots of family money from many generations to build on.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thats why my comment was talking about the top wealthy men. I didn't say i was talking about self-made millionaires.

[–]pahispua 5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That doesn't surprise me actually. Most money is old money and I'd imagine it'd be a similar ratio for men to be honest.

[–]tif2shuz 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah and read the stats of the men, there's no self made men anymore either. Jesus, sexist much

[–]UlyssesElias 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I bet fewer rich men on the list inherited their wealth.

[–]Skiffbug 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Put your money where your mouth is and go do the legwork: is it more, less, or the same?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I wonder what feminists would say if they learned that

Divroce rape, Laws to put 50% of woman in companie's boards, welfare state, ...

I think that feminists know pretty much that women need to extract ressources from men in order to get rich.

[–]fashionfag 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Man, who gives a shit. This isn't relevant to anything. I know about 100 guys within my NYC network that are given 10-300+ million dollar inheritances. This isn't a gender analysis, its a socioeconomic issue. But in reality, no one should really give a shit how you got your money. What you should care about is improving your own monetary situation.

[–]javi404 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The point you are missing here is that these woman made all this money because they married a beta. The lesson here is don't ever get forced into a marriage. If you are stupid enough to get married, hide your fucking money.

[–]fashionfag 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If a guy is a beta, he probably made his money off an inheritance, trust fund, or received it via some other lazy method, just as some of these women have.

I don't know many self-made millionaires/billionaires that aren't extremely motivated and alpha. I've met a self-made billionaire who's one of the most concentrated and intimidating people you'll ever meet. He's been married 4 times and doesn't give a shit. He still has all the money in the world because he works hard, plays smart, and focuses on himself.

[–]javi404 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You mean like this guy?

[–]Ryanphy 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Reading this post on mobile, and not noticing it was TRP, wondering why I agreed with the comments for the first time...

[–]LUClEN 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Women are two thirds of the world's working hours receiving 10% of its income"

Yeah... that's why there's an entire list of female billionaires right?

Damn false statistics

[–]Darkwoodz 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Probably same is true of most male billionaires
