most people in the mental health professions usually started the degree in order to figure out what is wrong with them personally. very few ever work on themselves because in comparison to really messed up minds they don't look so bad.

Mostly agree. At best, I think psych is more of an art/philosophy than a science. In chem, the same materials in the same concentrations added in the same order under the same conditions gets the same result each time, with no reason to expect a variant result. Not so in psych; at best, you get a few useful rules of thumb, but not enough to justify the influence psych wields in courts or legislation.

Some parts of psych are very repeatable.
If I say a part of your brain processes light, and that it gets affected by a certain pathway from the body to brain, you can repeat that pretty well

I was never a psych major, but I've taken a few courses in it. I think I learned more "psychology" (if you can call it that) by finding/reading The Red Pill and MGTOW.
Red Pill teaches actual human nature, you won't find truth like that in a college lecture hall.

After dwelling depression for the longest time. I finally worked up the courage to see a therapist. It was a female and truth be told. Even if she was listening. I could tell she didn't understand what was plaguing me. Its hard to do therapy when you have to convey the social norms to an outsider. Back then I was on the cusps of discovering trp. She couldn't understand why I was feeling the way I felt. How could she? I stopped going after the first meeting. And I discovered mgtow after a quick Google search. And this forum and youtube(stardusk) helped me lot more then that therapist ever did.

I wonder if her having kids that late in her life had anything to do with this. Just think about it. She was 55 and her twins were 7. She was 47 when she had them. By some miracle the girls looked normal.
And here's my point. There's a reason the saying "can't teach an old dog new tricks" exists. Because there's a point where humans become pretty stubborn and set in their ways the older they get. Which means having children this late in their lives with is really going to upend their plans and way of thinking. And it doesn't help that despite (or perhaps because of) this woman being in the mental health biz, she wasn't too stable herself. My best guess, she had children this late probably because she thought it would bring more stability in her life, not thinking that at her age she was going into having a lot of responsibility and not enough time. Although to be fair, I imagine the hubby was as old as her and it's really stupid on both their parts to be parents this late in life. I mean, it's a horrible idea for men that old to have kids too. I believe it's really going to screw with their minds.
Edit: looking through some articles, three red flags: dyed hair, 1000 cock stare, and a chest tat. Seriously, Google that shit.
