I'm a 6'1 / 2 athletic black man so yes. It's almost a default. I'm not darkskin so that's different but otherwise pretty standard.

In general, yes, because of the, you know, dangerous and threatening stuff men have done in the past.

Personally, not at all. Definitely not as much as I feel I should given my height and size. It used to bother me growing up (“Why aren’t people trembling before me?!”). But now, meh. I know who I am and I can’t fault others for knowing that as well.

Men should be dangerous, so yes. The difference between strong men and weak men isn't level of threat, it's knowing when to exercise constraint.

Absolutely.

As a man, it’s hard to shake the fact that many of the people you encounter, including strangers and some acquaintances, have wondered if you will harass, injure, rape or kill them or their loved ones. Doubly so if you’re black and/or not attractive.

I’ve also noticed that women around 18-35 seem the most likely to be apprehensive around me compared to other groups.

I often avoid standing close to women in public or sitting next to them on public transport because I don’t want to scare them. I know it isn’t my responsibility to do so.

Yea tbh I’m kinda scary looking at times, I have an ugly but masculine face. Some of the men in my family look like fucking monsters and I apparently got that gene

Best thing I ever learned to do was play it up. Somehow that takes the edge off and almost makes it a sort of game. If I downplay it, many people take that as me being defensive and having something to hide

I'm above average height and look like a man from every angle. That's immediately a potential threat to some people I suppose.

I also know my own value and am my own point of reference...that makes me dangerous to a lot of people, especially women.

But i'm a big softie really...honest.

Yes, and I have no problem with it. All strangers are potential threats until proven otherwise. If anything, it’s people who assume women are default safe that are in real danger because they are unprepared for reality.

yes. Every subculture im in pretty much makes me out to be a threat and some sort of evil person who is holding back others.
