Do LTRs serve a purpose?

I have kids. My LTR helps me raise them, handles her own shit, and adds value to the family unit - we're a team as far as rearing them, the whole "nuclear household" stuff...

.... without kids in the picture, if you're truly RP and mission focused, and have strong male friendships, and get your validation from internal not external sources, and are attractive enough to have abundance... not sure I have a good answer for your question (why have a sole traditional LTR), vs. OLTR or multiple longer term FWBs.

PRE-RP I would have said the whole soulmate and to not die alone BS. But a few years ago when I saw her affection and respect wane while I was still a plowhorse, and I didn't know why exactly, I realized the fallacy of relationship equity. Until this, I thought she would always be in my corner. And a few years ago, I came across some info that blew that shit up. I was hurt at first (ego) but more importantly, shaken (because what I thought was "a truth" wasn't so). If things ever go sideways, I will have to thank her for her unvarnished candid slip ups that set me on this path. If she had just been a little better at hiding the AF/BB drive, I may not have ever woken up.

I went through this exact same thought process last year after swallowing the pill. I’ve come to the conclusion that in today’s dating climate it serves zero purpose in my mind.

With anything else in life, it'll only have purpose if you give it purpose yourself.

Saw on YT how Kevin Samuels brings up that men in CorporateLand have a cap on how high they can go up the ladder if they're not in a LTR. So there's that.

Also if you wanna have kids I'd rather be in an LTR.

Definitely. I’m so busy that there’s no way I could find time to regularly meet new women and game them into banging. Too much effort.

My LTR is nearly effortless with constant sex that I never initiate. She cooks for me and organizes my room/helps with chores whenever she’s over.

Last year alone I increased my N-count by another ~30 or so. I'm way passed the anger phase and Idk what phase I'm in now.

I'm in my early 30s, earning a top 5% salary, deadlift 2.4x my bw, have a rotation of plates etc etc, but I'm also starting to feel that all these are pointless, simply because I need new experiences and new goals.

I do think that LTRs serve a purpose (other commenters have valid points), simply because having a rotation is a part-time job. There are costs to living the RP life and many of which are creating their own feedback loops (ie. broadcasting your own value makes it easier to attracter hypergamous bitches), costs that can be avoided if you find a suitable LTR. That said, I don't think it's possible for one to comprehend what it truly means if one doesn't walk the path first.

When I first took the pill I was thinking "Hey, no harm if this doesn't work for me, I can walk back to my original path anytime I want."

And now after walking it for a couple of years, I'm ready to try LTR again, with my new-found knowledge ofc. And I'm thinking "No harm if this doesn't work because I can walk the red path again." Funny how things move in circles, but yeah, I've lived it up and I now need to pursue greater goals and I need time to do it, time that is currently allocated to spinning plates.

Currently in an LTR. The day she stops adding positive things to my life. I will move on. We don't fight or argue at all. She supports my mission and my hobbies. She has a strong relationship with her parents (parents are still happily married), is nearly 7 years younger than me (I'm almost 30), and is not a party girl type. She puts me first before herself in nearly everything and it is shocking sometimes. I'm enjoying it while it lasts.

There's no point any more, the sexes don't need each other to survive or even know how to interact with the opposite gender in a meaningful way. Yes there are good people and exceptions, and if you're settling or having kids then LTR's have a purpose but for all other purposes - a resounding no from me. Save your money and chase your dreams, unless you want to hang around with a creature that lays around, stares at her phone, watches Netflix, trots on the treadmill at local gym and wants you to entertain her every weekend with something new she can post on Instagram. You then earn the place holder of 'boyfriend' until your turn is over, having gained nothing but wasted time and energy on a disposable outcome. If you're a male who can get laid consistently and are in demand then there is no incentive to ever settle down. Look at Leo.

Yeah I just think there comes a time when men search for more meaning. As fun as spinning plates is in the end it’s sort of an empty pursuit. Once you really master it, it becomes shallow and boring.
