If it were women who were "visual creatures", it would be seen as evidence of us being dumb and feather-brained.

But when men use it to describe themselves, it is used almost as a kind of scientific get-out-of-jail-free card used to justify shallow, superficial thinking. Many sound almost proud to declare it, as though in anticipation of subservience to this "fact of life" - "men are this way, which is why we do x (e.g fixate on porn to the detriment of a relationship), that makes you uncomfortable so just deal with it, we don't care about changing for you."

If women went around like this, how do you think men would respond?
