I have a theory that feminism, MGTOW, fertility rate decline, etc., are all nature's way of correcting human overpopulation.

What better way to drive a species into extinction than to make male-female relationships unbearable, to point of where mating is even avoided, or children are raised deficiently in single-mother homes?

Too bad that no one outside the West gives a damn about overpopulation. The Earth is huge, and there are enough natural resources for everyone, provided certain corporations don't abuse. Humans have no natural predators, and advances in agriculture, medicine, etc. are getting rid of other natural population limits. It's like humans are our own natural predator, and instincts which worked in the past are now to keep our population in check.

I sort of agree with this. Some humans are themselves predators when it comes to other humans.

I'm not going to lie. The first time I shot and killed someone overseas it felt pretty good and empowering. Not sure if I'm some kind of closet sociopath but I did get a genuine thrill out of ending the evil that person was potentially capable of. I hated that it was culturally acceptable for adult men there to rape young boys for their pleasure.

Edit: Anyone else been there and felt the same way, or am I fucked up for enjoying it?

It's cumulative with a few other things, too. Certain pesticides have been known to lessen fertility, and a lack of testosterone also lowers sperm count. That may be related to all the soy consumption, obesity, or just the general lack of purpose for men. I can't find a good link on the low T levels right now, but here's a source for the pesticides:

Some are a result of the use of plastics... BPA's, and PCBs, PBBs, and others act as endocrine disruptors, and offset the natural balance.... You do know that the hormones from birth control pills are in our water and affect the fish population? (There are many more articles on this)

Birth-control pills could add 10 million doses of hormones to our wastewater every day. Some of that estrogen may wind up in our taps.

A new doctoral thesis from Lund University in Sweden shows that hormones found in birth control pills alter the genes in fish, which can cause changes in their behaviour. The thesis also shows that nurse midwives, who are the main prescribers in Sweden, lack information about the environmental impact of hormonal birth control methods, which may affect the advice they provide.

The hormone ethinyl-estradiol (EE2) is an active substance in many birth control pills which affects aquatic organisms when released as waste into the water. In her thesis, Lina Nikoleris studies how fish are affected by EE2.

"Even low concentrations of EE2 have an impact on fish -- both their behaviour and their genetics. We have seen a change in the genetic balance in fish, and that they have a harder time catching food. Previous studies have shown that the fish also develop problems with procreation. This can lead to the complete disappearance of an entire fish population, and consequences for entire ecosystems," says Lina Nikoleris.

We make children that couldn't otherwise exist with fertility technologies. We make otherwise barren women carry and deliver children with medication and other interventions. We use amniocentesis and selective abortion to effectively remove particular defects and diseases from our population. And most obviously, and pretty much the cause of chart, we have reliable birth control and abortion. If we want to prevent or end a pregnancy, it's trivial for us.

We have our fingers deeply into the domain of reproduction. We are experimenting with artificial gestation and it is only a matter of time until we have it. Once we have artificial gestation then reproduction will be an industrial process, and subject to all the efficiencies that industrialisation brings.

If your country's replacement rate is too low and artificial gestation exists then there's a good argument for the state stepping in and creating the required number of citizens in a factory somewhere. The reproductive rate chart shown here becomes irrelevant when we can make babies like anything else.

Young people in western Europe live at home with their parents till age 25-30 because immigrants get the social housing. No joke.

So you must have rich parents or have saved already a lot by the age of 25. Otherwise, you are probably delaying having children and living in a state of extended youth.

Combine this delay with individualism and consumerism and you have people who don't will have any children at all.

Guys please look at the details. Yes it says fertility, but the unit is children per woman. This takes into account family decisions to have only one or two children, and is generally associated with more highly developed cultures. This isnt a surprise, nor is it "feminists destroying the world". Interesting data, regardless of the implication
