If you tried all of these things and didn't find a single cool guy who you could strike up a friendship with, then there's something seriously wrong going on.

You are no longer in a situation where you are constantly surrounded by available girls who are single and good looking, that is no longer available to you.

The key is to free yourself from the corporate drone job. It may be history now, but movies like Fight Club and Office Space really hit the nail on the head regarding the insanity of life for a modern man.

When women can leave you at any moment and have their own bux, what is the point of working so hard? Most men here would be better off lifting and bartending at night in a small college town. Their quality of life would improve massively, as long as they were willing to control their spending.

Not sure I was your mythical 30 year old but I'll give this a shot.

In my early 30's I was living a life that was somewhat similar to this. I was making really good money being a mid level manager at a high tech company, I had great friends, I had just started hitting the gym a couple of years prior so I was in great shape and yes, I was having plenty of sex.

It's different than being in college and it's not the same as the celeb life style you see in magazines. There's a lot of hard work involved and not that many private jet trips to Vegas with playboy models. However, it was definitely a lot of fun. Also, I wasn't the only one doing this. I went to business school during this time and there were a lot of us 30 year old bachelors running around and having a good time.

Ironically (or maybe not), just when I achieved this life, I also started to look for something different. So now I'm in my 40's, married and a dad. Go figure. :)

Go for the life you want but be prepared to work hard for it, and don't be afraid to change course if you find something that makes you happier.

I'm not 30, I'm 25, but am starting to experience friends, girls being less available and in serious relationships and working full time whilst pursuing hobbies/interests like the gym and starting my own company.

Honestly, Its hard. I have virtually no free time other than the weekends during the day, or monday/tuesday nights after about 9pm.

But if you want it bad enough of course you can have a modified version. If you live in a big enough city there are enough clubs/bars open that there is always somewhere to go, and in bars/clubs theres always single attractive women. I go out around 9 30 pm some weeknights, don't drink, and im back by about 12 ready to sleep and go to work the next day. Get numbers, go on day2's the nights your free, build up a harem of women in your social circle and you'll get invited to parties, to go out, to do fun stuff, or create your own fun activities/nights out/events. Be the party that people want to join.

It's not easy, but it can and is very rewarding.

It won't be some instagram self masturbation life youre thinking of, but it can still be a pretty damn fun and rewarding one with lots of beautiful women and a life worth living.

Introductory Note: I may well sound like a dick in this post, but I'm ok with that. I try to light up the path for younger guys, and to show them what is possible. If I can do it, you can, too.

So late 40s, still a bachelor, and life is fucking awesome. One of my plates (23F) texted me today that she has taken upon herself to fetch another girl (23F also) for us to have a threesome with. I will have to close the deal on it, but that's how that works, (plate is very bi, but like all girls is terrified of rejection. I think she hangs around still b/c she knows I can pull girls for her to play with. Also, bi girls usually want a cock in the room with them so they don't have to think "OMG! What if I am a lesbian?!" Anyway, I digress....)

The Path Forward

Your Health. Fucking take care of it. Without it, you have nothing. If you do shitty things to your body that are totally optional like smoking or eating shit food, stop it. As you age, you are going to have to adjust. You won't heal as quickly and sometimes things will hurt for no reason. I would suggest incorporating swimming into your workout, at least enough to be comfortable with it b/c it's good for aerobic fitness and a shit-ton easier to do when you're in your 60s than mountain biking or jogging--be kind to your knees b/c you will miss them when they're gone.
Your Money. You need to figure out what your needs are for whatever lifestyle you want to have, i.e., backpacker who roams the world at will and bunks in hostels or guy with a Benz and a Rolex. Either one is fine, but whatever your goal is, you need a plan to get from A to B. When I was coming up, the more traditional path was still more open, so I did law (would not recommend, now), specialized and now I am an in-house guy, except I work out of my house and do what I want with my time (I turn and burn on my work, and then have hours of time to do what I want with. Usually, I stay in the States, but I bounce to Europe off and on b/c that's what I like.) If you are shooting for a higher-end lifestyle, you need to start planning that shit in your 20s. These days, I think its better to be an entrepreneur or at least do that on the side. In addition to my regular gig, I do private placements, and sometimes take positions in the market. That shit doesn't just happen, you have to LEARN it.
Your Time. Time is the most important currency in life. Not $, not Euros, not yen. Time. You only have x amount of time walking around on the planet. Figure out what you want to do with it, and get busy. You will also have "down time" for maintenance (exercise/eat/sleep/read/meditate/etc.) and the usual vagaries of life that must be coped with. That's ok. But whatever you do, don't waste time on useless shit.
Become Exceptional at Something. I started playing music at 17. I front my own band, now. Why? Because it's fun. The hours I spend each month playing music are Pure Joy. The camaraderie in the band is fun, and the creative process is fun. And when we play out, it's easy to pull. I also play in a co-rec volleyball league, b/c volleyball is one of my hidden talents (I'm good at it for no particular reason). It's a nice workout and it's co-rec, so there are young women there, also. A couple of them are hot, and they have hot friends, and I'm that cool guy that they know, etc. Otherwise, I just be some middle-aged guy they see at the office once a month.
Social Relationships. When you get older the 'cool parties'--which were really just keggers down at the fraternity--aren't going to happen anymore. At least in the same way. And if they did, and you went to them, it would be weird b/c you're not 19 anymore. When people talk about college being the "best 4 years of your life", it's because you're young, and surrounded by 18-22 y.o. girls who are giving it away for free. When you get older, your friends are going to disperse, many/most of them will get married (and, while a couple of them will have cool wives, most will not), and disappear. That's ok. There are a few guys I see once a year that I knew when I was younger, and that's enough. Plus you will get a few of them back when they get divorced. You should be developing new friendships all the time - which means getting off the computer, putting down the video game controller and getting out of the house. Get out and meet people. One of the guys I do private placements with started off as a guy I knew from a travel board. We have dinner once a month, on average. Another guy was a co-worker from the London office when I worked elsewhere, and when he visited for a week, I took him down to Manhattan (he wasn't going to go b/c it was a bit complicated for him to get there, and I volunteered; we subsequently became good friends. He moved on and became successful, and, lucky me, he remembers that I was his friend when there was no juice in it for me). You have to develop and maintain relationships all the time.
GAME, GAME, GAME. You're still hung up on the bi-girls, above. I know. What's my 'secret'? I approach like a motherfucker. Some young women actually prefer older guys. We're established, we DGAF and we know what we're doing. Most women--most people--want to be told what to do. That's why there are tons of workers, but not tons of entrepreneurs. Following a beaten path is easier than making your own. That said, not every girl is going to be open to dating a man old enough to be her dad (in the case of one plate, I am actually a year older than her dad). So the secret to finding them? Approach, approach, approach, approach, and when you're done approaching, approach some more. Think horizontally, not vertically. Sexualize the conversation early, and if she's not sending you 'buy' signals, bail. Think of it as the opposite of one-itis. Don't invest in girls like Billy Beta, who thinks, "If I just get that 10th stamp on my 'nice guy' card, then Suzy Snowflake will finally give me all the sex I deserve!!!" You know which guys get rejected the most? The guys who get laid the most. Because they are approach machines.

it's more than possible. when i was 30 I found TRP and RSD. By 31 I had travelled to 6 countries, had multiple plates (including a 19 year old college student), got a dog, improved my income to 6 figures, got a loft in the middle of nice city, and went out partying 4 nights a week on average. During the day I worked on software projects remotely and lifted 5 days a week. I made lots of new friends, increased my social circle, developed a more social and outgoing personality, and by the time i was 32 I was averaging ~3 DIFFERENT girls a week, every week. For an entire year I never went more than 6 days without pussy.

I'll be 33 in a couple of months. After this monk mode winter, I should be well on my way to financial independence (starting a new business), <12% body fat, and more bitches than I can swing my dick at.

Starting from ground zero in a new city (or if you're a social recluse with no friends in your current city and want to change that efficiently):

Month 1: 1) Go to a bar on a Friday night. Chat up 5 guys and 5 girls WITHOUT trying to fuck them, just talk about plain normal small-talk (for guys talk about sports/chicks/videogames, for girls talk about relationship advice (pretend you have a girlfriend, this’ll disqualify you as someone hitting on them so they won’t be as on guard or bitchy to you)/congratulate them on whatever b’day, wedding, etc. they’re celebrating/ask them where the bathroom is or for directions to another bar where your “girlfriend” is waiting etc.) and exchange names. Do the same with 1 or 2 bartenders and/or waitresses and/or shooter girls, who are paid to be friendly to you. If anyone asks where your friends are, say they’re coming later but you got there too early, and if anyone asks you where your friends are later in the night, say they got too drunk and stayed in but you hate staying in so you figured you’d come out for a drink. Leave as soon as you finish your 10 sets. For a mixed set of multiple guys/girls, every person you exchange names with in that group counts toward your 10 sets.

2) Next weekend go to the same bar. Chat up 5 guys and 5 girls and say hello to any of the people there who you talked to last week and chat with the same bartenders/waitresses/etc. as last week.

Congratulations. It’s one month from you reading this very post right this minute. You spent 1-4 hours of each week for a total maximum of about 16 hours of your entire 672 hour month, and you have 40 people who, even if only 25% of them are regulars, gives you a solid 10 people who frequent the bar on Fridays since people are creatures of habit and like to go to their favorite bars, and they know you by name and you can make small talk or flirt with them for social proof.

For month 2, do the same thing, but do it on Saturday night as well, at a different bar.

Do that and add different venues into the mix (make sure even if you're in your 30s you're hitting up the kiddie nightclubs, girls love older men and if you can open girls and introduce random girls to guys the guys in their 20s will love you for providing value so you don't have to try to drag your lame married "complains all night" friend who has to find a babysitter and then wants to go to some shitty sausage-fest pub with old dudes instead of hot <25yo chicks on a Friday night), and occasionally invite everyone out to the same venue now and then so all the circles can see you mingling with the other circles and you can be the social connector introducing them to eachother and throwing girls from the group at the guys and guys at the girls while taking home whatever girls you're into at the end of the night...do this for 6 months and in half a year you own your city’s downtown nightlife.

Don’t drink more than a beer or two when you’re out, save your money to move to a bigger city with a better nightlife and/or move to a place in the middle of the main nightlife district so you have perfect logistics for pulling and having people over to pregame/afterparty and don't have to waste time/money on cabs and shit.

While you save your money up to move, you can enjoy the fruits of your socializing labor in your current city when whatever cute chicks ARE around want to suck your dick because you seem to be the most important high-value guy in the city who knows people at every bar.

Guess what you’re going to do after you move? Same shit, except you’ll be even better and smoother at it because you’ll have done it once before. 4-8 hours of your week for a few months in your new city and you’ll have all the social proof and pre-selection you could ask for, in a city where you have a better selection of hotties to fuck. The rest of those 40+ hours you can work, lift, read, etc. If you're really limited for time you can bail around midnight during Month 1 and 2 because you're focusing more on building social connections over hanging around till 2am trying to pull (you can still try to pull of course, but the plan is for long-term payoff to have self-perpetuating social circle poon around).

Make the first month your New Years resolution and start on either New Years Eve or the weekend right after NYE. Don’t miss a single weekend unless it’s an emergency. By summer you will have the shit you currently envy and don’t realize is COMPLETELY within your grasp.

This plan costs zero dollars and requires minimal time investment and can be done anywhere in the world at any time, all alone by your lonesome self in a city where you don’t know anyone and don’t have any friends or wingmen. Contact-close people and throw in the occasional “throwing a party (make up some BS reason) at Bar Name next week, it’s going to be sick” and invite everyone, 75% of them won’t show up but the 25% that do work as social proof for you for the rest of them, introduce and connect everyone as well as bringing in new people that night and merging everyone into a huge set where you’re the social connector. I'm 27, moved to cool metropolis city, earning more and more money, looking better every month, learning language..I plan to switch careers soon as well and I want to emerge myself in fitness and exercise industry.

Of course I guess it's still not the real bachelor life, since I go out just during weekends, I work not less then 200 hours monthly, and we all know how employees are treated today. Pay me less, make me work more, replace me at moment's notice, stress stress stress.

But life to me is so much better now then few years ago. And I'm happier. Catch 22 is that while at college I didn't have to take care of anything. Now I have job, debt, rent, stress at work, dozens of things I worry on.

But that same worries which make us all suffer sometimes are that thing that is pushing me up as well. Fuck, I take care of myself and my life, and it's big part of calling yourself adult. And living funny life now requires hard work, but it pays off well.

But regardless of everything I see myself with kids and wife when I'm maximum 35 years old. maybe year or two earlier.

With more and more bachelors come more and more friends to hang out with. Expatriates are often single and a good bunch to hang out with. I'm 35, European living in oz. I have my surf friends, my climbing friends, my festival friends, my fishing friends, my band members, with plenty of overlaps - mix of Aussies and expats, mix of years from 20 to 40. My college friends who got married and got kids, haven't heard from them in years. Don't really care.

It's a it harder but barely. You just need to be active and outgoing. I go to plenty of parties organised by 25-years-old friends. If I really need to be surrounded by plenty of hot girls, I just go in the big city streets and practice my day game.

But with no extra mouths to feed, you get the freedom of choosing how well you want to get paid. You can work your ass off to become a 30 years old millionaire, or work just enough to support your months of travel around the world. Up to you.

I'm 31.

Live in a conducive area. You don't want to live far out into he suburbs. Live close to the night life, restaurants, activities etc. Live in an area where people will actually want to visit you and where people want to hang out.
Have a nice pad. No need for a mansion but assuming you have a nice job/career/business you can afford some decent furniture, a good TV and have a place where you can entertain people.
Make an effort. As others have said, it doesn't just fall into your lap when you are in your 30s. Go to networking events, try Meetup groups, actually follow up when you say "we should hang out sometime."
Be an organizer/facilitator. Always come up with various activities (e.g hiking, sporting events, bar crawls, concerts, get togethers at your place etc.). If you have taken time to arrange everything such as booking the tickets, calling the right people, having booze, people will want to hang out. Make things easy for everyone else and they will do what you want.

Like anything else, it boils down to creating value. Be someone who people want to hang out with. If you have a good job, you dress well, you have passions and you have ambition, people will be attracted to you.

Lol dude, you're in for a big surprise. Not only is it more than possible, it's actually relatively easy.

Mind you I'm nit thirty yet, but I've noticed quite the consistent increase in both quality and quantity of women I've been hanging with, the older I'm getting. As I get older I simply don't give as much of a fuck, and am able decipher social dynamics to a deep level. Will your friends leave you for their wife at some point, sure the suckers surely will. But if you stay single, pursue your career and keep yourself healthy I only see good things, and like I said relatively easily as long as you don't mind hustling.

Which brings me to a deeper broader point, sure statistically guys don't have as much fun after college blah blah, dude these statistics tell you the average. Do you consider yourself average? Be the exception the rules. Live despite circumstances not because of them.

I don't know why you need the parties, alcohol or multiple women to be a successful bachelor. I don't know why you need tons of money either. This reads like it was written by someone quite young. I'm in my early 30s, far from wealthy, but I have my own place, I do whatever I want in my free time, have a good physique and play in a band. I don't really crave anything beyond that, I certainly don't need a woman for fulfilment but I'll date the odd match on tinder/okc until I get bored and move on.

I think being happy in your 30s really comes down resisting a massive amount of social pressure - pressure to marry, to buy an family car instead of a sports car, to stop spending so much time on yourself, basically to live for other people. If you can live entirely for yourself you will be happy, and ironically get more attention from women too.

I'm 27 and having a blast here in NYC. No close guy friends nearby, but still having lots of fun on my own. As for options when it comes to women- I have more tinder matches than free time. I didn't plan on staying here so long, but it's been more fun than I expected.

Its not overly complicated. You want friends, money, hobbies and sex? Learn social dynamics for the first and last and cut people who are toxic while keeping up and improving with ones who are. Look into a trade or start a business or whatever, focus on it until you have what you want. Pick up a cool hobby like the arts, or physical fitness of some kind, focus on it. Preferably choose something you could spend years improving on, that could branch into new hobbies, help you meet people and potentially make you cash should you want it.

This only seems complicated until you actually put the time and effort in. It starts small and snowballs until all if a sudden you realize you're doing really well.

I'm mid-30s, good job, single. Maintaining a good career is time-consuming and tiring.

Ideally, on a good week, I will work my ass off, hit the gym a few times and chill out on Friday.

Cooking good food (not junk shit) and doing chores takes up a fuck load of time. Then there are all the bills and admin-type boring shit. Boring but needs to be done.

Don't kid yourselves lads, you can't have it all, there just aren't enough hours in the week. So you choose what's vital and do that. For me, women are not vital.

As I have aged I have found a few ways to live a little closer to the ideal lifestyle you describe. I will list some of the things I have found.

Befriend people of all ages. I can have a good time hanging out with college kids at college bars or with old retired dudes at their lake houses/dinner parties.
Actively cultivate social circles. When you are a kid you have friends all over 24/7 because you don't have anything else going on. As a late twenties-early thirties type you need to actively seek out cool people and ingratiate yourself in some manner.
Make yourself someone you would want to hang out with. Some of my married (mostly miserable) buddies pull the random stop by when they know I am going to be out in the shop working on something so they can get away from the house and have a beer.

Also realize that living like a frat boy loses its appeal as you age. Keg stands and shit like that just aren't something that is appealing any more than once a year or so. Dinner parties, live music, sporting events, hobby meetups, etc. are much more fun than just getting hammered and puking on some girls shoes once you grow up.

I think it's definitely possible, it all just depends on your lifestyle. I'm 28 and a lot of my friends who like to get out and party are dropping like flies, either due to moving away or settling down. Guys who used to be the life of the party or close to it, I run into and barely recognize. They tell me how they've done nothing but work and chores and take care of kids for months. One of my best friends went out twice so far this year, if you count last new years as this year.

Where I live everything is cheap and the majority of my family is here, so I'm hesitant to move, even though I haven't met a girl capable of giving me an erection in over 6 months. I will probably move at some point, but for now I'm happy with my long distance plates and traveling for work gives me plenty of opportunities to meet new people outside of my hometown.

If you don't have much to work with, it can be challenging to just get up and move and live that kind of style. At this age people only want to have another friend if you can add some significant value to the group, so be prepared to be used in some way or be rejected. But once you have a decent social circle you should be able to make some genuine friends much easier.

In the end it all comes down to how much work you want to put in. I don't want to add $1000 of rent into my costs just because I move to a big city, and a good chunk of my friends are still active enough that I feel moving to start anew and the effort it takes just isn't worth it right now. When I have money I don't know what to do with and even more of my friends are settled down, maybe then it will be a different story.

I'm in my late thirties and still have sex with very good looking girls in their late teens-early twenties. It's definitely doable, but it's not really as exciting as it is when you're younger. I have to say the biggest challenge is resisting the social pressures to conform to what others are doing. It's easy to say "I'm going to go my own way and live life on my terms when you're young", but then you see close friends get married and have kids and switch into dad mode. All of a sudden you're with them at an NBA game and this guy who used to be the biggest poon hound is talking about how the cheerleaders shouldn't have on such skimpy clothes now that he has a daughter.

Location, location, location; and concealed effort. Live downtown or a cab ride away, like to party, vibe with the interns and other new grads. I'm new to big cities, this shit was unfathomable before living it. Have taste and a personality. Develop hobbies that grant status by association. Ruthlessly weed out losers. Source: 30 year old, 2 years into the pill and about 5 into self-improvement binge. The world keeps getting more interesting. I'm also a fucking shrimp at 5'5", but my fashion and posture + physique is good enough that people call me 25 and think I look much taller. I was 50lbs overweight 3 years ago. Still don't own a boat, but the path is in front of me. About 2 bangs per month these days, FWBs and plates that I met IRL and some Tinder half-night stands. I have groupies and recently a stalker, recently AF banged my first 22 year old after mostly near-wall 27-30 year olds in recent memory who try to BB me. At 30 I hated my job and relationship and had a Bell's Palsy attack. I was skint, fat, pale and miserable.

At 32 I have a nice flat by myself, a job that I enjoy that recently crowned me Customer Service Champion and I'm healthier than ever.

I lift 3 times a week and train or perform on the indy wrestling circuit twice a week. Last weekend was spent with WWE connections and debuting on their show.

I'm currently seeing two girls, one of whom is the hottest girl I've ever slept with. I'll never tell her that. I get offers from about three fans a week.

I'm richer than I've ever been. I get paid tomorrow and still have four figures of disposable income this month.

Anything is achievable. Just start with step one and the rest will start to fall into place.
