It’s not just the PC culture that infested the film. The Series has genuinely gone stale and the film brings nothing new to the table in terms of plot or lore.

Even for a film that kills off the white male savior of humanity and replaces him with a petite illegal Mexican immigrant, this flick still won’t be a fit amongst the woke populace. Film studios do not know who their target audience is anymore.

I have been avid Terminator fan for years, I have seen the newer ones all in cinema from T3 to Genesys, I have not cared about what people say, I just go and watch it for the action and for Arnie...

Serious question though: why do modern movies feel so artificial when portraying “strong women”? Why were older day movies more natural in this respect? Example, look how natural sarah connors character was in terminator 2. It didn’t come off as a forced political agenda, she was just a bad ass whom everyone respected. Other examples include Ripley from aliens. Even movies like sister act were massive crowd pleasers, successfully fronted by a black woman of non classical features of all people. No one thought about her as a black woman or some SJW agenda, she carried the movie with pure charisma. She was just whoopie Goldberg the legend. This is something I noticed but I have never really been able to explain, how olden day movies did not feel like it was pushing an agenda compared to today.

Even silly movies like scary movie 1 were a good example. I bet you didn’t even nnotice how multi cultural that movie was right? A bunch of white kids smoking weed with black kids in a room, done completely naturally.

I dont get the point of killing John off , They could have done a human 2.0 where the humans realize the only way to defeat the machines is to upgrade humanity by technology bio engineering. Have opening scene humanity 2.0 fighting back against terminators and winning easily, then machines evolve more and are about to kill john , then have arnolds terminator come back to save him out of no where. they could also do something where the machines go back to steal or recreate arnolds terminator to kill john upgrade him and send him on his mission. They could have done so much have some useful propaganda to explain how artificial intelligence will change the future. Naw they decide to kill john and replace him with girl.

I don't understand who their expected audience is. It won't appeal to men because it's not a contrived killing field like Commando or Predator. It won't appeal to women because it's nothing like Harry Potter or 50 Shades of Nonconsensual Sex in the City. Maybe some unemployed women will see it? Who knows.

A good progression would have been:

John Conner and Kate Brewster fight off another T-800 leaving John severely injured. Kate discovers she will give birth to the future leader of the resistance.

This time, there is no help sent back for our heroes, yet a new terminator unlike any other is sent to squash this new discovery of the timeline. Seemingly human and very organic(like Grace but chillingly cold)

Kate Brewster is our heroine with the help of Sarah Conner. We see Kate grow in to her new role both a fighter and a protector. Sarah draws from her hardened days to help in the fight, and add motherly support to her dying son. We find John dies in an excursion. We learn Kate's son will take on John's name in a horror setting mimicking the first movie, and setting us up for a gritty future war.

We could have injected the human element back in to the franchise and get back to some roots, but.. we live in a society.
