I don't mind staying home alone. I enjoy solitude. In fact, I've been that way for quite a long time. I can entertain myself at home just fine.

"Lonely" is a mental condition for people who arent content in their own minds and need the presence of others to feel complete.. There is nothing I enjoy more in this world than peace, quiet, nature (nature can be loud cuz its nature and whi tf am I but a man), and being completely alone by myself where I can speak out loud to myself instead of in my head. Ive never understood men who constantly need the company of others, like, don't enough people need something from you with the day as it is? Why pile more on that.
[–]Googlepost9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Time is a component, everyone reacts differently after a few days of peace and quiet.
I've made hardware store runs just so I could shoot the breeze for a few seconds with a stranger. I don't need around the clock chit chat about insipid topics though.

Wasn’t there an episode of South Park where Cartman mixed up “with” and “by”? His buddies told him to go home and play with himself, and Cartman stated that he liked being home and playing with himself.

Yeah but don't you ever reach a point being tired of watching countless youtube videos on many different subjects, same with reddit, playing many different single and online games for many years, smoking weed even occassionally, drinking beer, wine or other liquor, reading books (this I never get bored of but I cant do it all the time), sitting at the same fucking 4 squares lol etc etc. I did that and more at home and enjoyed my solitude but fuck man, there is so much out there. People to meet, skills to learn, jobs to do, places to visit, eat great food etc etc.

It’s a concept that gets hate from a society where life is all about school, getting a job and dying in a care home. All for the benefit of the system.

[–]serotonino36 points37 points38 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yup and so the government gets loads more tax $$ from folks spending their pay packet on alcohol
[–]DarkDragonX12320 points21 points22 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yeah, that too. Personally I hate clubbing and partying. It’s where people go to become worse animals than they already are. Nothing good ever came out of them

They say there's something wrong with you. So you tell them there's something wrong with modern marriage. They tell you not all marriages are bad. You say its not worth the risk will thinking about how dysfunctional their's is. They call you names because they've lost the argument.

[–]teslaistheshit5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
They tell you not all marriages are bad
Most marriages. I've seen happily married couples believe it or not but they are far and few between. My estimation is 10% of marriages are happy and guess why? They value the male / female roles.
[–]DenimRaptNightmare5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I think you're spot on here. My brother is a prime example. Been with the same woman since they were 16, and they're 44 now.
I still struggle with this, because I've always wanted what he has. But once you see the reality of what the marriage game is today, you can't unsee it.
[–]teslaistheshit5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Your brother found a diamond in the rough. Honestly man there are some good women out there but like I said they are so hard to find it's exhausting to even try. Also your brother at 16 must have had potential that his future wife saw and she believed in him. Most women wait at the finish line and fuck the winner. At 46 I've arrived as a man and did my time on the plantation. It's scary how many younger women throw themselves at me now that I'm established.
[–]Chad1Stevens67 points68 points69 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I spent hours a day talking an ex through her emotional bullshit, acting like a free therapist while she would just do the same fucking thing 24 hours later.
When it ended all of a sudden I had hours back I never knew I had. It felt like the day had twice as much time and I spent hours a day relaxing. It was goddamn glorious.
[–]Helikzhan57 points58 points59 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
It's the one thing I look forward to every day. Honestly if I could retire today I would do just that. Sit in my house, eat snacks, do dumb pointless shit like video games and hop on here routinely to make sage comments to my brothers. Alas we all have obligations outside of our man caves.
[–]cozyturtle5237 points38 points39 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
This is literally all I did today. Worked, got home, watched some YouTube, drank a beer, tried out a new video game, and now I'm eating snacks.
[–]Kornstar0411 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Minding your own business is definitely a mans game
[–]BetterDerailed24 points25 points26 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I like to say I'm really good at minding my own business. I may lack situational awareness at times, but it sure is peaceful.
[–]IhasCandies3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Situational awareness is overrated.. Ive got ptsd and it causes hyper vigiliance in my situational awareness.. I am at all times ready for the world to collapse in front of me.. it sucks.. I mind my own business as long as you dont look suspicious.. even then I watch you, but keep that shit to myself because although I cant stop it, ITS NONE OF MY BUSINESS
[–]AimlessZombie2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Oh yeah exactly. I wish the terrible lady that lived behind me had this trait.
[–][deleted] 44 points45 points46 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yeh boi... But I don't like being alone and I'm never alone. I have my dogs. They are really therapy dogs to me they are my family too. They get me through tough times and are always there for me.
[–]IhasCandies5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
No.. its not that you dont like being alone.. you have amazing companions who know you perfectly and only ever have your best interests at heart, and dont have pissy days where they purposefully pick fights.. Youre not a lonely person, youre a man who has found his way.

One can only achieve this level of enlightenment by having endured the endless hellish high-pitched raging of the North American female trapped in ones home for an unbearably long time.
Once rid of it, the mind echoes with the sound of silence.

IKR. My roommate annoys me with his inane questioning about why I don't go out as much.
I go out at least once a week, I go to at least 4 comedy shows a year, I take at least 2 trips a year. I just don't have a need to go out every night anymore. I did that shit in my 20's. Hell during college he NEVER came out to any parties or went clubbing.
Now I'm sick of clubbing and I hate concerts. I don't like crowded loud places where I can't talk to people and assholes spill their drinks on my shoes. I'm done with two stepping while a girl grinds up on me, that isn't dancing. I like a nice hole in the wall bar with good food that is never packed. But I like drinking at home more, its cheaper, I don't have to wait for the bartender and I never have to worry about driving.
I don't need to go to a new restaurant every week, I've seen it all at this point. Now I just want to order it on Uber Eats to my place that I have made perfect for ME. Even new premium theaters don't compare to my 4k setup, I'd rather wait a few months for a movie to show up on Youtube Movies for $6.
I've been all over this country and to every country I'd like to go to. The only places I want to go now are in books and virtual worlds.
[–]stonehead164 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I read somewhere that relationships are all about you and your partner solving problems together, problems you won't have if you are single. That statement is a gem of truth.
[–]IhasCandies4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
As a married man with 2 boys.. This is the answer.. Yes Marriage takes lots of work, and sacrifice, and compromise, because there are issues and problems that never would happen if I was on my own or theyre things that wouldnt even register as importance in my mind. Playing the game though because these little boys need a stronger man in their life than I did.. I had a man in my life that taught me you just pay money to handle all your problems and issues and if that doesnt work, then work harder and pay more money.. Ill be damned if my little men learn that nonsense.. apologies for the tangent.. I get worked up talking about raising my boys lol
[–]stonehead161 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
No need to apologize man. You are good father i hope your son grow up to be good men.
[–]Miggymoggy4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I call that freedom and it is sad seeing people whom I know personally that are married (or have a girlfriend) who have happily sacrificed their freedom for a one sided relationship, that they can't even do something so normal like coming home from work, putting their feet up, watch a movie and relax for the rest of the evening.
Men sacrifice way too much in a relationship to please someone who'll never do the same in return.

"Being alone for a while is dangerous. It's addicting. Once you see how peaceful it is, you don't want to deal with people anymore." - also Tom Hardy.

yet my family members, who are alcoholics, smokers, fat and uneducated people think behind my back that im lazy or some sort of loser, because i dont want to get married

Remember gents, “lonely” and “alone” are two different things. Our own happiness is our own responsibility. Relationship and marriage is supposed to complement that, but with the way things are that is not the case anymore. We still have ourselves in the end. We can bang whoever we want, go wherever we want, have Saturday night with the boys, and spend our money however we want.
