Since then, you have the Greek and Roman mythologies, the Trojan War, the Bible, the Arthur legend and its associated stories, the Canterbury Tales, Shakespeare...and that's just off the top of my head.

If it's social conditioning, it's something at the very root of society, so close to instinct as makes no difference.

I don’t know, maybe both, but I think all humans are naturally selfish by default, and learn to be better. I was selfish as a child, until I grew up. When someone cuts me off in traffic, my natural instinct is to kill them, but I know better. Maybe it’s that women don’t fully grow up, they are perpetual half-children that need guidance. They do seem to love being told what to do, and avoiding accountability. Society is letting them run wild, like giving guns and authority to spoiled children, and letting them make the rules.

It's the design of nature.

A man can father hundreds or thousands of children while the highest record for women is only 69. This makes a woman worth more than a man when it comes to making babies.

Women during pregnancy are expected to be kept safe and avoid physical labour while men don't have this problem thus men are expected to protect and provide for the women and women can just expect the men to do all the heavy lifting for them.

Since eggs worth more than sperms, women are more picky when it come to choosing a mate. They need strong provider and protector. This drives competition amongst men to work and gather resources so women would pay attention to them.

Men don't have the same standard as women because they can have children with as many women as they can as far as their resources allow. Thus the markers for attractiveness in women are just markers of good health like not fat and clear skin.

When time is hard, men are preferred over women because they were designed to be providers and protectors. This may explain the reason why patriarchal societies have existed almost everywhere on the planet.

When time is good, women's picky nature (hypergamy) and their usual expectation to be provided for and protected work against society since they now have this abundant mentality. They look down on men, and they no longer appreciate men like they did when time was hard. Men no longer feel compelled to work hard or to protect since they become disillusioned of their old meaning of life (the women). Eventually, society regresses and collapses.

I tend to think it's the latter. I don't believe girls/women in past generations were like the current crop of millenials and gen z's. They've had many years of feminism and conditioning via TV, Hollywood, the printed word, and the way the news is reported, on radio, TV, and the Internet. The conditioning has been in steps. Incrementally, the media master have brought not just women, but men along this road to the point we're at right now. I believe they want a rift between the sexes. Their media certainly has created it. It didn't originate on its own. It didn't seem to exist in other periods of time in recorded history - ONLY IN THE LAST 50 YEARS OR SO. This is the period of time that they've done most of their dirty work.

Humans in general are inherently selfish. However women are more selfish than men, if you look at Kohlberg's model of morality where men can achieve a higher level of morality than women.

Women are then made even MORE selfish due to the current society while men have to become even less selfish, widening the gap even further.

Depends on society and the genes of individuals.

There is such a thing as r/K selection, where woman K selected individuals are more adapted to harsh environments where investing heavily in offspring is the best reproductive strategty so having 1 mate that you pair bond with is superior.

And r selection is when there is there is no need to put many resources into one offspring for it to survive so you just go fucking as much as possible.

ANY advanced society is reliant on K selection to make sure that Man and Woman have skin in the game sort of say.

Our societies have been monogamous for a pretty long time and honestly if it wasnt for a certain (((interests))) we would be fine today.

As for your question, yes woman are more selfish or picky but obviously these traits are WERE socially conditioned out of woman as much as possible.

Now the issue with modern society is that woman have become TOO selfish even for genetic survival. Woman either A) Go fuck 10 different men a month, none of which would provide for her, making it a terrible evolutionairy behaviour, or B) They want prince charming 10/10 multimillionaire, and they are willing to literally not have children until they find one (which will never happen) So that is anti evolutionairy behaviour aswell.

In conclusion modern womans slutty behaviour is literally much, much worse then just "following their instinct" because they arent even having offspring, this behaviour is outright suicidal for the species. So if it werent for feminism and woman were left alone, it wouldnt be great but it would be nowhere near as bad as this.

It's mostly got to do with social conditioning, I believe. Have seen good natured women from happy families as well as rich entitled cunts from rich families where the parents are barely around to raise them and the only way they are shown affection is through gifts.

All humans are inherently selfish. Men are just dumb enough to be brainwashed into believing that their selfishness is somehow evil.

Guilt is the most powerful control mechanism society ever found, but to use it you have to convince people they've done wrong. What better way that criminalizing their intrinsic nature (ie selfishness, tribal in group identification, Male sexuality, etc.)

I think the entitlement is social but the selfishness is biological. To them, men are to be strong and are to protect and provide. This allows women to be weak because they have men to make up where they fall short. So women focus on themselves because to them men shouldn't need help (if he does, he is weak). As for entitlement, women are getting away with it because of unfair laws and their joining of the workforce that slashed wages for men. Men have lost a lot of leverage so add in the 80/20 rule and social media and you got a recipe for disaster.
