This morning, on my way to work, I pulled up behind a car with two bumper stickers. One read "I <3 Someone with Food Allergies". The other one read "Don't Mess with a Food Allergy Mom". I found this hysterical (more ridiculous than funny) and sent a picture of it to a group text with family and wife. The response back I got from my SJW sister was "I take that to mean they have a child with food allergies and are trying to raise awareness". My mother then texts me privately about a story she heard on TV... some dude ate cake and died from a flour allergy.... it's very serious! My pretty based wife writes to me "Your family really needs a chill pill."

This isn't a commentary on my family. I realize they're ridiculous with this shit and I should have known better. I just ignore their REEing mostly.

But more broadly, political correctness is eating our souls. Increasingly, people are afraid to comment on things they find genuinely funny. Everyone is now offended by everything, particularly in very democratic areas... there is an aura of spiritual blackness. The kind of humor that makes you bend over and clutch your guts is harder and harder to come by - in the media and society more generally. I feel it at work, around family and friends, and in public. What's encouraged instead is the garbage that passes for late-night TV, leftist stand-up, and crap comedy flicks. Things that are permitted: endless jabs at Trump, shit feminist jokes about vaginas, and... is that it? Help me out.

I find this to be one of the scariest aspects of the larger overall attack on human nature. One people don't talk much about. It's very important to maintain your sense of humor, no matter what. It is vital to a healthy existence. Just wanted to vent somewhere, as it bums me out big time.
