It's mostly because the state enforces child support. It isn't even a relaxing of the rules of society as people seem to be implying but rather a strengthening of them.

Think about it... If a woman couldn't get child support from a man enforced by the state then she'd have to stay with the guy. 70% of divorces are initiated by women and the main reason given was boredom. I mean wtf? The state shouldn't be used as a tool of oppression to reward the bad life choices of women.

I'm on my phone and have a lot of time so I will explain. This is Red Pill 101.

Pre-society: the 80/20 or 90/10 rule applied, whichever you prefer. Alpha males get all the pussy, beta males get none.

Society: marriage and other cultural-based family units are pushed to ensure that all men get equal access to pussy. Divorce is heavily stigmatized and leaving your family provider less was also heavily stigmatized. A family unit is very productive. Males have an incentive to work at 100% (said male could live off of 25% effort) and stay at home mothers and wives would rear children and volunteer. Shit was good. Empires were built on this shit.

Post feminism: all negative stigma of female actions is all but removed. Courts lean heavily towards female empowerment because feminism pushes the idea that all women are victims. Casual sex for women goes from something that was reckless and dangerous and devaluing to empowering. Women are sold the idea that they are men and put off forming a family for college years and the carousel. Now that women have no incentive to find men who can be good providers, they fuck the man they find the hottest until they hit the wall. Most of them anyway. So we return once more to the 80/20 or 90/10 until these women hit their 30s and want kids. Then those 20% look real good. As providers. They still don't want to fuck you but you can sponsor their lifestyle. Game teaches you to move up to that 10% (in theory, in reality it just makes you better)

The standard manosphere concept is that 80% of the women are having sex with 20% of the men. Those numbers cannot possibly be correct. The whole alpha/beta thing simplifies the time aspect of this. The sexual marketplace is different for virgins looking to marry vs. 30 year old yuppies becoming a power couple.

Instead, what has happened is that the "beta male provider" qualities no longer matter in the sexual marketplace. Under monogamy, a woman had to choose one man and commit to him. She wanted children, so aside from of all the "natural" qualities she would look for - looks, sexiness, intelligence, health, manliness - she would also consider "beta male provider" qualities, someone who would and could invest in her and her children. Importantly - she had to choose one.

Now, people can do whatever, and birth control means sex doesn't necessarily lead to children. So everybody can do whatever they want. The losers aren't necessarily the "majority of men left in sexual poverty," instead, the losers are men who want monogamy and to provide for a wife and family - as well as women who want monogamy and a provider.

Slut culture ruins women as future wives for the men, and the reaction is that men are (just now) starting to withhold their "beta provider" relationships, not bothering to commit or get married, and maybe trade up for younger women once or twice (something that in the past under monogamy only the top men could get away with).

Some people are happy with the new (non) arrangement, some people aren't.

The problem is that weather Alpha, beta or Omega, men are stuck in the nuclear family model and get overly attached to their wives or gfs.

if men realize, that women are as disposable (regardless of the relationship status) as a used tissue paper; they would never see any kind of betrayal as a bad thing. They'd see it as an eventuality and an opportunity to trade up.

This is though is fast coming to an end, and the sooner the better.

Will the kids suffer? yes ... but honestly, kid's are a woman's problem to being with ... and the courts agree on this.

So I've been lurking here some time, but I have to comment. It seems that frequently in this sub when using the alpha/beta labels, what were really talking about is r/K selection. This is especially true when discussing topics that deal either directly or indirectly with reproduction or long term relationships (child support, marriage etc.)

I make this distinction because I believe that it is entirely possible and under certain circumstances probable that alpha males will be k selected (religious, cultural influences etc.)

I bring this up now, because the theory raised by the op interests me. But I look at it differently. I think the "sexual revolution" and the "feminist movement" artificially over valued the r selected males at the expense of the k selected regardless of there alpha/beta status.

An average man, though, with hard work, can make himself into an alpha; if we accept this, then the sexual revolution actually improved the market, as women no longer feel the need to wait for a committment to hand out sex.
