I have self control. I don't need to delete it. "Become a man" and learn to control your desires and have time-management. "You won't regret it."

I have it open pretty much 24/7 in a tab. I use it for messaging friends, making plans, and keeping up to date with people I don't get to see frequently. It's not at all a bad tool if you use it properly.

Its bad for game too, because if you want to get laid, or get female attention, just "log into facebook" or any other online shit.

Wat? You can't get laid on Facebook...?

Just because you have problems using Facebook, doesn't mean everyone else does. I go on FB once or twice a day just to see if any friends messaged me. It's a great tool to keep in touch with old and new friends over the years.

Obviously, don't go on FB and try to game your friends. FB shouldn't be used for that. Go to OkCupid if that's your thing.

It kills game. Relationship statuses, pokes, likes, all bullshit I do not and will not deal with.

If you want to keep in touch with professional contacts, use LinkedIn. If you want to find women to date, use OkCupid. If you want to send a friend a message, use email. Or text. Or, you know, fucking call them.

I never joined FB or Myspace or any social network. They're corporate information vacuums, designed to make money on your volunteered information. They compel participation of all by getting enough ignorant people to join in and conduct their social business using their system, then they abuse that information however they see fit. Their motto? I have one but never use it. The feed is basically just like a shittier, highly personalized version of reddit. Pictures of peoples' kids/dogs/dinner and a bunch of ridiculous political statements, email-forward-quality jokes and other irrelevant bullshit.

I have thought long and hard about deleting it but at the same time, it's how I communicate with people I have no other means of communicating with (met abroad, long distance friends and family, etc.)

The way I use it now seems to be the best option for me. I never "browse" or post statuses or read the news feed. I just respond to the things people say to me once a week or so.

Takes some self control though

I rarely post anything personal on Facebook and mainly use it to disseminate information (technical, world news, American hubris and other politics, veiled red pill stuff, etc) in a social news group I created. Also, if I haven't talked to you in 6 months I delete you off my friends list because you're clearly not in my intimate circle.

I've been off of facebook since the summer of 2011 and I haven't looked back since. It's nice to be able to have conversations with people and not know every detail of their life. There is no passive-aggressive nonsense or jealousy either.

I want to add that anyone who says they need facebook to keep in touch with long distance friends is full of shit. If you have access to facebook, you have access to email and (probably) a phone as well.

The reason I advise this, is because facebook is an excuse. To procrastinate to think you are flirting with a girl by liking her photo, and beyond.

I deleted mines about 2-3 years ago. People my age(23) thinking I'm weird and trying to live off the grid for not getting involved in the social network. I just tell them that I know how to reach the people I need if I want to talk or need a favor, so I don't feel the need to look for e-approval and I definitely don't want people rummaging through my pics or keeping tabs on me(We're all guilty of it). I have met a few really cool people over the years that I would have liked to keep connections with just for networking so it kind of sucks on that end.

I keep Facebook for one reason only: I live in the UK, my entire family (and old friends) live in Australia and all have FB accounts. So it's the easiest way to keep in touch with them all in the one place. Other than that, I don't get the obsession.

I certainly don't use it to hit on women. Who the fuck does that?

Here's something I did, and it's FREAKY.

I created an account under a FEMALE identity. I got a friend to bum me some suggestive, although not nasty pics.

EVERY SINGLE TIME I log on, there are at least 2-3 new friend requests from guys. EVERY SINGLE TIME. And it's been like a year. LOL.

Want to get to know some extremely lame intro's and come ons? LOL. It's a different universe coming from the other side.

It depends on what you are using it for. Using it to keep in contact with friends and relatives that you know and don't see all the time, is fine. It should be kept to people you actually know and want to keep in contact with, this does not mean 300+ of your closest friends that you met at the bar.

Places like facebook are also taken too seriously, the internet is meant for cute animals and jokes (or at least that is what my mom and employer can think about me). Pictures/check-ins every so often of things you are actually doing and even mildly interesting is better than whining and selfies every other day, people that abuse my newsfeed get quietly unfriended.

It's good to meet/game some chicks. It's great to keep up with family and extremely close friends. It's a great marketing tool for business, especially anything involving females.

It's horrible if you lack self control, or you have a shitty life, and you think everyone else is having an awesome life [when they just don't post the shitty things.] It's absolutely horrible for letting exes and hook ups back into your girl's life.

Stay in the loop on what parties and events are being planned by my friends and acquaintances
Repost anti-feminist messages. A few people in my general proximity have actually rethought things because of the stuff I post.

FB has it's uses. I understand it's easy to get too deeply entangled, and if that happens it might be a good idea to remove it, but if one can stay on top of it, it's just a tool.

You know you guys can lock it down pretty tight, right? I have it set so only friends of friends can view my profile. You can even go as far as locking it down to only your friends, only friends can search for you, etc. It's not hard.
