Funny how a woman can define what "mans work" is but if we tell a woman what woman's work is, she will lose her shit. Reason #5187646 to remain single.

"I am a strong independent woman who needs no man! Everything is a tool of the patriarchy! Thus, I will do everything by myself!"
"Okay, how about setting up the Christmas tree?"

Just throwing it out there that not all women think that way. Just as you yourself are an example that not all men think the same way in parallel.

Listen here Cunt! It's not Christmas and December that is the problem! So stop swearing at that. It's your fucking gf and your delusional blue pill mindset!
My December was awesome as fuck!! Yea I was working 50+hours a week...still one of the best months to date..but you know I don't have a crazy basic bitch gf....
[–]AllthesuddenIgetit4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I actually like December the most because I go from working 50 hours or so a week to only 20-30, get a month to breath a bit and then in January I come back like a bull in a china shop!
While everyone else is running around like a chicken with their head cut off, I get to sit back and relax a little bit. I always do laugh when people look at me "shocked" when I say I don't care about celebrating Christmas.

I had to work insane hours too, but the difference this time around, no emotionally exhausting girlfriend. Amazing how much less stressed I felt, regardless of the work I was involved in.

[–]the_unseen_one17 points18 points19 points 8 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link
My mom makes me pump her gas whenever I visit. I fucking hate it. She's one of the worst offenders of screeching about sexists and equality, but when it comes to social situations she'll throw a tantrum if I don't do the "chivalrous" thing.
[–]keltsbeard15 points16 points17 points 8 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
"Chivalry ended when we quit fighting wars on horseback." That'll be all you need to tell her.
[–]AllthesuddenIgetit10 points11 points12 points 8 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
lol Chivalry ...
If we were really acting "chivalrous", we would be running around burning things to the ground, stealing whatever we wanted and raping whoever we deemed weak.
Pretty funny how that word became romanticized.
lol, don't even get me started on the word "romanticized".....
[–]ManIsWalking7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link
Really women had a chivalrous code as well. Ladies in waiting we're expected to be quiet, to bow when in the presence of a man (of higher status), their dress was regulated, and they were required to take lessons in home economics.
After learning this, it's easy to understand why there's such a disparity between the genders. Over the last few centuries, women have been breaking down their gender norms in the name of "personal freedom". They first dropped the chivalry code, then procured voting and property rights, then the "free love" movement and sexual liberation.
Men have had no such pleasure. It's obvious when you see that we are still expected to show mannerisms coined from the fucking 1400's. Or at the very least a man's gender role hasn't changed a bit since the 1950s. It's unfair, and we're experiencing the growing pains of a society that's starting to wake up to this gender gap.

That's a fascinating and very good point.
The knights definitely were a completely different person "in court" as opposed to everywhere else. Have you read stories about "The Black Knight" Edward whatever-shanks? He is made to be a Chad=Cockenstien in every story and tale.
In reality, I wonder how many people died by the edge of his blade or the tip of his lance....
Makes you wonder, if a guy is able to "Let the beast out" in one area, is he a better person in the other area?
[–]ManIsWalking2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link
For one, items which are labeled by some as "toxic masculinity" are quite beneficial to male well-being. It's no secret that young boys are imbued with near infinite energy. Horseplay and rough housing is necessary to the development of young boys. It follow the same concept of play fighting in young animals. They do so, so they may understand the appropriate force needed in biting. If you've ever wrestled with an older dog that has never played before, chances are the dog bites you with unnecessary force, because it never learned the difference between play and aggression.
Same thing with shit talking done by groups of men. Men enjoy putting down their peers with insults and jests which in turn teaches the subject of the joke to have thicker skin when met with actual aggression in the adult world. So to answer your musings in your final statement. Yes, "letting the beast out" or more accurately "toxic masculinity" is absolutely required and should be encouraged in our men. Sure there's a time and place for everything, and maybe some extreme items of masculinity should be considered outdated (such as spanking the ass of your waitress after you make an order) and removed. But to remove and demonize all examples of male sexuality is going too far and is nothing but a detriment to society, men, and even women in some cases.
[–]AllthesuddenIgetit2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Of course, was meant to be a rhetorical question.
I was one of the star athletes in high school.
Then the frat kid who did a lot of drugs and got into a lot of bar fights in college.
Then afterwards, joined a dojo and have been learning the proper time and place to do so.
Sad to watch my nephew have literally zero arena in which he gets this masculinity out of himself and the hollow shell he is at only 12 years old.
An interesting generation is coming up under us.
[–]ManIsWalking1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It could gp either way, this next crop of men.
Either the envelope is pushed too far and men as a community violently rebell (because they are never taught proper aggression).
Or alternatively, and this is the current agenda of the leftist camps, our men effectively become "declawed" and will cower at the first sign of adversity.
I suspect we will we a massive influx in crime committed by maladjusted men which will accompany and influx of the remaining men to resemble something more feminine and docile.
As for your nephew, while you have virtually no control over his up bringing. Maybe take him with you to the dojo frequently. It's a great bonding experience and you'll teach the kid a little confidence in his ability to perform as a man.
Our generation, the next generation, we both need some serious help in regaining that "warriors spirit" it's our job as the older of the two to show the young ones how to navigate as a man in our modern times.
[–]AllthesuddenIgetit1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Here we definitely agree, I watch my nephew as a "one rat study" and see the massive amount of attention that is thrown at his two sisters in both public and private and wonder....
Will this go bad, or will this go REALLY bad. We are talking about the picturesque and very wealthy family here. Curious to see what some of the not so lucky kids look like.
As to it being our job is another interesting bit of agreement, I have found myself explaining things to said nephew dozens of times like my father would to me. He just doesn't have anyone to reflect or refract to like I did.
Father was a Special Forces Marine and hit me twice. Both times ... I deserved it.
EDIT
Just saw the "take him to the dojo" part. Sister thinks it is too violent of an action and the husband who says "how high should I jump?" agree's. No matter how many times I tell her my story and how typical it is that he WILL find an outlet to take this out on unless properly focused. Again, I wonder what some of the BAD situations look like?
I truthfully think we're in for one wild ride.

Oh no, I own a manufacturing business. Couldn't hire him legally .... yet.
I have thought about perhaps talking to my sister about letting me become a bigger part of his life in a rational way as she has said more and more that her husband is having trouble connecting.
I want to SCREAM that it is so obvious that he is just not a masculine person and his son is showing masculine traits.
But they just keep calling him a "bully", or "mean" or "selfish".
Christmas for instance....poor kid. He and the two nieces got some wierd hovercraft soccerball thing. I was in the dinning room playing with them, the girls shouted "girls vs boys"! So I of course made sure to step up my game and mop the floor with my 13 and 6 year old neices alongisde my 12 year old nephew. He had so much fun and was laughing and smiling so much!
When I left the room and his dad walked in, I heard him say "You are playing too hard with the girls! Stop being a bully, go sit down in the other room"
The look on his face when he came into the room where we were sitting, god I feel so bad for the kid.
You guys are right, I need to make sure I am a bigger part of his life.
Thx all

Couldn't hire him legally
"Wink, Wink, Nudge, Nudge, Petty Cash, Sis. It's 6K a year into his college fund, and it gets him out of his sister's hair." She'll roll over jusrt because of the reduced burden on her finances. Start an annual "Employee Appreciation BBQ Lunch", budget 18K, spend 12K on food, and list the kid as "entertainer" for 6K. There's no child labour laws in Hollywood. Lines get blurred when it comes to child labour and entertainment. A 12 y.o. can legally make a paycheck.
I know, and you know, It's not up to you. But we know.
[–]AllthesuddenIgetit1 point 8 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
Oh she and her husband make plenty of money, if he can get into college they will pay it.
I am more worried about him being socially awkward. If she will let me enter his life as a mentor I think I could do wonders.
I just shot her an email asking if he would want to work on soccer together, hopefully that could be a good inroad and I could coach him up once or twice per week. He seems to really love soccer but his dad was never an athlete and has no clue how to do anything athletic.
Soccer is good, great for developing legs and lungs. Try to nudge him toward swimming, too, that helps with the shoulders and arms. Lifeguards get major social exposure, too. Swimming can be a solo sport, too, for when he gets overwhelmed by team bullshit.

I fucking hate Christmas too. It's not the people getting together for a Christmas meal and drinks, that's the good part, it's the "have to's" of the holidays. You HAVE to have a giant Christmas tree full of useless decorations that takes hours to set up/take down when something like this works just as well. You HAVE to watch Home Alone (fuck off sister) even though you've seen it 5763 times, yet you get looked at like you have 3 heads if you watch it in July. You HAVE to buy useless presents that no one needs while receiving things that you don't need, just get me a case of beer or a liquor store gift card/bar gift card and we're good. Christmas is fine if you don't make such a huge deal out of it, yet no one can seem to do that

Yeah, I dislike the hate on simps and blue pills here, but I think a lot of it has to do with self loathing. We hate that we used to be this guy in one form or another. Some of us just pity the unenlightened, and some of them loathe then for their ignorance. I think they deserve pity and sympathy. Simpin' ain't east and we all went through a couple of hard knocks before we saw the light.

Women love the holiday and decorating, but never are willing to do any of the work for decorating. Shit, they don't even make the cookies and holiday pastries anymore but still expect men to do their part. It used to be that while the guy is putting up the tree and all the bullshit decorstions, she'd be knitting stockings, baking sweets, and cooking a feast. She no longer does her part, but the man still has to do his. A big reason why I've lost all love for the holiday.
It was especially bad for some of my coworkers. Dudes would work 60 hour weeks with an hour one way commute, and their stay at home mom wife would still expect them to get a tree and put up decorations. All that for some pussy and some babies they hardly ever see...
[–]Yashugan0014 points15 points16 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
You know you don't HAVE to decorate your house with Christmas lights right? A simple tree with lights and maybe something festive on the door is enough.
People on America go nuts with decorations sometimes.

[–]AllthesuddenIgetit3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
People are only shocked for a second, then they get over it.
When I bought my house, my neighbors gave me shit for not decorating. When I looked at them and asked with utter seriousnouss:
"Why would I?"
Their only answer was "Because it's Christmas!"
When I just shrugged, they could do nothing but look at me in silence. Since then, they stopped bothering me about it and back to being just normal neighborly friends
[–]badmanahgwanso7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Also the whole "social minefield" aspect of holidays/gatherings that women experience is a huge fucking drag. One of my ex gfs would freak the fuck out about bringing 1 vs 2 bottles of soda. It's like, OK, don't show up empty-handed, pitch in, and don't be a dick; anything beyond that is unnecessary torture. This aunt or that cousin looked sort of like they didn't like that one thing I didn't say but somehow strongly implied over dinner? I honestly don't give a fuck.
[–]FritzLn8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yup. It's been said before on here, but women are obsessed with their social standing because from an evolutionary perspective, a woman that was shunned by society was a dead woman walking.
They couldn't provide for themselves without the protections of their social group (and still can't)
[–]Keenano 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is the curse of maledom. Capitulating to womens needs for the sake of pussy.
If a woman really wants something (an extravagant christmas) she should create it herself - and any self-respecting man should tell her so. But a pussy-worshiper will never do this, because then she might get upset. Funny thing is, evolution made women that are attracted to males that are confident enough in themselves to tell women no. When men capitulate to womens demands, it's having the opposite effect on them that they think it is. Poor, poor numbskulls.
