I don't know the limitations, but I do know of some studies where this was shown to be the case. London taxi driver brains, for example, are a different structure to your average Joe, because of the convoluted street structure they typically memorise and navigate. At the very least, if you wanted to test this kind of thing out, you'd naturally start training your brain into different habits.
A mgtow might want to train his brain to focus on only important things. Part of that might be to force thought association with thoughts of women so that you remember most women are only going to mess you up. Perhaps you don't even want to look at scantily clad girls? Then you might consider forcing yourself to think that if women that were well-dressed were more respected, then perhaps less women would play the whore, so you force your gaze away and if you have to talk to them, show no interest in their skin or form.
This kind of thing should be no surprise to anyone. What did we suppose? That when we memorise things that nothing actually changes up there?

I keep hassling between the fact that a person is fluid and somewhere also static.
A. static as: certain life experiences will teach you to behave a certain way to avoid said life experience. e.g. clothes, I quite frankly do not care so much about them, yet they do have a positive benefit in regards with dealing with people. Helps you get around easier (as people are generally more acceptable of people with certain type of clothing). I do not care about the opinions, I can't bring myself to care about clothes. Yet in the experience of life I know it brings a few said benefits. (I can know something factually but it doesn't mean I will change).
Fluid: Certain life experiences can change you, sometimes you just need the exact right sentence to hear at a certain time, and you will never look back on it the same way. e.g. MGTOW, beforehand I was Blue pill (with some hints of red pillishness (read some of PUA stuff, so I knew women we're mischievious just not the degree). After MGTOW, I completely and calmly not think about women for days and not having issues with it (usually there was some nagging feeling of "I need a girl/wife/someone to care of me" kinda idea. Now that idea has just flown out the window and perspective has changed dramatically.
My question/curiousness lie in the limitations, how free are we to change, or are we only able to change in the way we already see fitting... or are we just changing along the way not really deciding but just making conclusions as some observer, always taking the path of least resistance in ones own eyes.

Yes, it does seem like some parts of our psyche is much more resistant to change, while others less so. The same part in different people could be more or less resistant! I suppose sexuality is a difficult one to change, but the first step in the process is realising we can change the structure of our brains, and people have done it many, many times before, then we can begin to change the things that need changing.

I want to think this was a troll but I've seen a similar story in real life:
My buddy (let's call him Jay, a former pro athlete) who lives in Manhattan now a couple years ago had something similar happen.
