Funny thing is, men keep getting married and screwing up their own lives. Socially, the world fucked up now. Guys gotta walk away from this for a few decades until this shit clears up, but they won't. Gotta get their dicks weht.

Do they have legal recourse for this? I have always wondered about this situation.

I know that generally a shared bank account can be wiped out by a woman on her way out (before she's rewarded with alimony) as I recall a radio show host's story about how it happened to him. He got fvcked over hard. But what about in this case?

Absolutely horrible.

That's extremely depressing, because it was likely his college fund. And it's just all gone..... It takes a truly unique piece of trash woman to do that with no remorse like that.

Whelp, my own dear Moms might have been in the vanguard then. She emptied my college savings from my own lifetime of saved money from grandmother, my own savings, etc. Did it just before I turned 18. She was gloating as she told me about the furniture she spent it on. She was a total bitch on wheels and did a lot of fucked up shit, but that right there was one of the worst her many betrayals.

Who could do this to their kid? All these years I assumed I was pretty much alone in this madness.

I think your brother should bring that money up as not your or hers, but something she took maliciously and without consent from you the son. Any old deposit slips and emails over the account should suffice. Tell the judge he’s willing to move it into a blind account for the son for when r reaches 21 or starts college. She can’t argue for the safety of the kid then.

The thing that's destroyed him is her emptying their son's savings account which my parents (very far from well off) have paid into once a month for years. That's his uni fund wiped out. I don't know about fucking over your spouse but it's the one betrayal my brother can't come to terms with."

Not surprising considering how many times I've seen the child support run out and the kids deposited on dads doorstep at that point. It's pretty jarring for the kids, who may have been alienated, to suddenly be dumped into the custody of a guy that's been painted as Satan's mortal form too.

This sort of thing should be shamed and come with massive consequences.

But it doesn't and on the contrary women are rewarded for this behavior across the board on multiple levels while men have their hearts ripped out through their wallets and lose everything.

This is why you can never invest in a woman. In the back of your head you always have to keep awareness that they will most likely do this to you someday and even if you aren't seeing it they're cheating on you emotionally if not physically (though that tends to follow especially given all the attention women get).

What's the ratio of women who initiate divorce vs men who initiate divorce? I'd be willing to bet women initiate the vast and overwhelming majority of the time. They're so extremely selfish and hypocritical it boils my blood.

Lawyer here. The grandparents should have set up accounts in the kids name for which they were the signatories until the kid reached whatever the Legal age is in your country to control the account.

Now that they are in a broken situation, the grandparents should sue the mother in the name of the kid alleging that the money was intended for the benefit of the kid, i.e. a trust. In this country (England) that's a case I would win. I don't know if the same would be true elsewhere, but I expect it would be. The money was never meant for the mother. Also, the advantage of the grandparents suing is that their action is unconnected to the divorce so there's no way for a divorce judge to throw it in the same pot as the rest of the divorce disputes and then pressure the husband to take a shitty deal on the kid's money in exchange for, say, custody rights.

Hmmm. 30 years. That's a typical length of time for a relationship of mutual convenience, when the marriage was already dead.

Usually, however, the marriage dissolves after the children have been taken care of. NOT by destroying your child's future.

She obviously views the son as favorable to dad and is trying to punish both. Which confirms once again that she is the one with problems, not the men.
