All my life I was told by my mother that a couple should always move in together before marriage, to truly get to know each other. She took her own life as an example, where she moved in with my father after marriage and they divorced after 4 years.

I get that once the girl moves in with you, you can't soft next her, dread isn't as effective, you become more and more familiar so the thrill is slowly going away.

But it's different to see a girl once a week, then to live with her every single day. I always thought that this is the best way to do the vetting, because when you move in together, both of you show your true colors.

True, you should never get married, but I can't really imagine that a girl would agree to being in a monogamous LTR for 30 years and living separately all this time.

So why moving in together is a bad idea?
