Not sure if I will be banned or downvoted for disagreeing, but wanted to add to the discussion, which is what Reddit is ultimately about. It is great that you found new ways to happiness and new perspective here. However, I recommend staying open to many future possibilities. I "went my own way" for a time in my twenties, and it was great. Five years ago, I then met a woman who brings me more peace than I ever found alone. Be happy with who you are first, but don't permanently shut out the possibility of marriage, if you find someone who understands you and treats you well. Marriage is not necessary for being happy, but it's not incompatible with it either, and can make it easier for some people. Just my two cents.
