They already have been removed from the sexual market; they are invisible to women and as such they are incel. If monogamous mating is not enforced; the total number of men in the sexual market is irrelevant for the bottom 25%.

But to the other part of your post: the thing about war is it does not care about your attractiveness to women- bullets kill Alphas just as readily as Betas. So unless you can manage to recruit only Betas in a time of national peril (Hint: you can't), you are not going to be selectively killing off the bottom men anyways; and even if you could, you just ensured that the new bottom men get shit on unless monogamy is enforced!

So the bottom men have a choice of either improving enough to no longer be on the bottom; or undermining the current economy until society is left with the choice of either enforcing monogamy again or being overtaken by one that does.

Edit: or hostile revolt and wholesale killing of higher tier men. Dangerous and still does not help the new resulting bottom men unless, once again, monogamy is enforced somehow.

Your example is flawed because in previous periods where the male population was reduced by war a lot of the men killed were Alpha males. Male population reduction was not concentrated in the bottom 25%.

The Alpha male population would have to shrink significantly for any meaningful shifts to occur in the sexual marketplace. In the eyes of women, the bottom 25% of men are invisible anyway.

But 25% less males (less betas, less alphas, less men in general) does create a shortage that skews the sexual marketplace in males' favour.

In these situations men get more opportunities and women demand less commitment. More open relationships are the norm.

Conversely with an excess of males, women demand more commitment and more resources and relationships skew towards monogamy (although AF/BB still simultaneously applies of course).

There have been studies that demonstrate this and of course feminists scream and stamp their feet when reality goes against their preferences, and go silent when it goes their way.

Regardless of the fact that most of the 3rd quartile now become the bottom 25%, it does affect female behavior.

There was once an article about colleges with a 40:60 ratio where a female student argued that of these 40% half were in a relationship, and of the remaining 20% half were intolerable, creating a situation were the remaining 10% of students/25% of male students were confronted with so many excess women that they had an easy time getting laid on their own terms. The idea of top 20% is not set. And no woman holds the same batch of men in that top. Imagine her boyfriend- in her mind he's top 20. Yet for another woman he isn't. The collective perception of women covers a larger male populace but this perception is still rooted in the 20 percent.

Naturally as you've stated women will be forced to be less picky and heartless should they fear to not find a man. All you have to do is look at post wall women. If you want to know what will happen we can look at two US religions that already have a shortage of men. One, the Mormon church, has a lopsided gender ratio of 2 men to 3 women in Utah. The playing field becomes more normalized. The 9s will still be way up there on the pedestal, but the 6,7,8s will feel closer to the 5s than ever before.

Something also to note. During the war era women more or less successfully found a husband long before they were 25. Most men who returned from WW2 got with women who were 17-22. Its weird to think about but my grandmother's sexual strategy, for as weak as it was, got her my grandfather when she was 18. What sounded like kid shit by our standards successfully got her 30 descendants.

The trend in the entire western world is that people are getting married much later, and are having kids at a much older age. So the strategy that may have worked for our grandparent's generation where they get married at 18 doesn't particularly work that well anymore. What power an 18 year old female may have may be completely gone by the time she is 28. And an attractive women in her 30s may have been a total second rate 18 year old woman.

I am flabbergasted that most ignore the implicit affect of a male on the sexual market, creating demand.

They might never get laid yet, they, by sheer attention and persistence, make women feel as if they are worth more. They are still the bottom 25%, I do acknowledge that, yet they create the illusion of "everyone wants me, I get to pick."

For that reason, I hypothesize that if you were to create such an imbalance, value of males would increase, just not as drastically as you would think. Someone who would score an HB6 easily might now be able score an HB8, but that is probably going to be the extent of it.
