TL;DR: Your voice is an important toolset which needs to be worked on in order to help you express yourself fully and freely. Basic exercises as taught by Patsy Rodenburg – probably one of the more famous voice coaches at present. She’s worked with Ian Mckellen – ‘nuff said.

According to Patsy, production of voice or at least your natural and beautiful voice, involves the whole body to be functioning at its optimum and for your breath to be at its deepest point. Some of you here may find some of the exercises redundant and be like ‘How that gonna help me speak to the beauties’, but please endure and try and do all of them as listed. Should not take more than 10 minutes off your busy schedule (scoffs).

VOICE WORK

• *Gentle Massage of face * – get between your eyes, beside the ears and around the hinges of the jaw.

Scrunch up your face - then allow it to naturally fall back in position. – Do 3 times.

Smile with open jaw - Something like this! - You get the point. It helps to open your throat. Great prerequisite for a bootiful voice. Or yawn and speak at the edge of it. – Do 5 times.

Breathe in and hum - into your nose, lips, chest, mouth, balls (only for Elliot hulse fans).

PLACING THE VOICE

INTONING – The mother of all. Dear Patsy swears by this. It places your voice exactly where it’s supposed to be. It basically means a sustained release of your voice on one note instead of speaking in a monotone. Still don’t get it? (even i didn’t) - Great instructional video by the ever helpful Patsy can be found here!

BODY WORK

  • POSTRURE:

  • Feet: Energy forward on the balls but with the heels on the floor. Feet should be aligned with your hips. Not too wide nor too narrow.

  • Knees: Unlocked

  • Spine: Up, not rigidly held

  • Shoulders: released not rounded/slumped

  • Jaw: unclenched with lips lightly touching like a self kiss

BREATH WORK

• You need to breathe deep and low. Not the shallow shit you’re doing atm.

• Stand and flop to one side. Allow the arm on the stretched part of the body to arch over your head with the other arm hanging free. Then gently breathe in and out. Stretch the rib cage a lil more and continue breathing. This will allow the breath to enter the side of your body. Repeat on the other side.

• Hug yourself and flop over. Breathe.

• Do Yoga’s Child Pose!

LESSONS LEARNED - An attractive and free voice can boost your confidence like no other. When the words and the sound of your voice are falling on her ears like vrigins from the sky, you'll know you have her by the tits. Practice makes perfect.
