This is not someone that has embraced MGTOW. MGTOW is complete freedom. If you're living your life as depicted in the comic, that's on you, as there's nothing holding you back from doing whatever the fuck you want. Amen to that, particularly as the man depicted is fully able bodied. I knew a guy who developed muscular dystrophy at the age of 10 and became wheelchair bound for the rest of his life. By age 16, not only could he not take a shit without his parents helping to lift him onto the toilet, but he couldn't even lift his hand high enough to scratch his own nose. He, instead, had to call out for someone else to come and scratch it for him.
By the time he died at age 30, he had never gone on a date, let alone kissed a girl or had sex. Yet when I went to his funeral, almost everyone had the exact same thing to say about him: he was one of the most positive people they knew. He never complained and even encouraged others with their obviously lesser problems when they felt down.
I firmly believe that "being happy" is a skill that takes practice. It involves going against our nature of focusing on what we don't have and instead appreciating what we DO have. The man in the meme above is not actively practicing this skill.
He has a job that is obviously paying the bills, so he doesn't need to worry about whether he'll be able to pay rent or if he'll starve. He has his own car, so he doesn't have to worry about being unable to secure transportation to work. He has an active internet connection, so he can use it to reach out to supportive communities, like MGTOW.
He has the tools he needs, he just has to actually use them.

I would expect, however, that if it was all just an act, that he would let some exasperation show at some point. He lived with his parents his whole life, and they were the ones scratching his nose for him.
I would also expect that if it was all just an act, he would have died at 22 like the doctors had predicted, rather than living for another eight years. It's my understanding that stress and major unhappiness hurts your lifespan, rather than extend it.

Lack of funds, social ineptitude, and often times fear of trying to make friends and failing horribly. Most shut ins don't go out cause they fear other people judging them. Sure you can make your house a castle, but without people to talk to or bring over, it's kinda pointless.

I thought about that after posting, but my point still stands. It's odd because usually the alternative to MGTOW is settling down with a woman. This illustrates someone that hasn't done that, but it appears that's what he wants. I would like to make another comic showing what it's like if you actually do that and how it's almost the same except there's a nagging wife you can't please and you're trapped. Either way, if this comic describes anyone reading this, realize that finding a woman won't solve any of your problems, it will make them worse. Happiness has to come from within. Embrace being single and the freedom that comes with it.

I don't think this was meant to represent a MGHOW, it was meant to represent how an average man is simply invisible to everyone else, especially women. Even if he puts in copious amounts of effort, as depicted, it doesn't matter. If you're ugly, no one gives a shit about you at all (besides your immediate family if you're lucky).
This doesn't mean one should give up on himself, but to appreciate how uncaring the world is, that's the hardest redpill to swallow for those who are not attractive.

Sad mostly because life feels like an endless grind and it feels lonely when you aren't able to socialize IRL.
Otherwise I'm physically stronger, healthier than ever, and well off financially. So I guess I have it good overall.
Women never gave a shit about me, so my accumulated frustration over the years eventually lead me in this subreddit. I've been trying to convince myself I don't need them by reading lots of stuff from MGTOW, but the frustration and loneliness still won't go away.

Then you don't understand what's going on and what MGTOW is. MGTOW says being alone is where peace is. We are as men the very thing worth developing, not a relationship. Our minds and bodies can be built to extreme levels of creativity and worth by putting in the time to study and learn.
MGTOW is not being alone physically but mentally. We still have friends and have social lives, but our happiness doesn't revolve around sexual attraction—we are filled with contentment and seek self mastery. If being alone makes you sad and frustration overcomes you, well then you haven't really found MGTOW yet, you have only begun to not be with others.
Finding MGTOW begins with wanting to go your own way, not being forced to.

I can sort of relate - not because I'm depressed but because I can't help but wonder if there's something wrong with me for not basing my happiness around those things.
I used to frequent fa to try to help them see the bright side, which i hoped would help me understand the above better, but they're just trying really hard to feel as bad about themselves as possible.
