I’ll make it short and I want to be somewhat vague about details.

I had my roommate text the guy I like saying I was interested. He has expressed slight interest in the past but has never made a move. He responded positively and asked me on a date.

Did I pursue someone who wasn’t being proactive to do something on their own? Looking back, I don’t like the fact that I orchestrated everything and someone else had to give him the push he needed.

Everything else has gone well so far, however I worry I set the relationship up for a dynamic I don’t want. How do I proceed?
