Bro.....Im 29 so feel free to just disregard this piece of advice right here but man, you need to do all this shit "(e.g., running 5k a day, daily weight training in the gym, good skin, good haircut)" for YOU and because YOU want to do it and because it makes YOU feel good about yourself not because you feel like itll make women want you more or whatever....

Fuck all these judgmental hoes man, dont do things in your life because you think it'll make them value you or want to be with you because surprise man, there will always be someone more "attractive", "wealthy" "funny" or "wise".....

Anyway, that is my piece of advice, do with it what you will my friend. If you continue to choose to do things to impress women well, good luck with that, hopefully that unicorn you're chasing doesn't end up biting you in the ass...

Thank you kindly for your advice, I always appreciate sincere advice.

In response, I do it for me, and me alone. The backstory is I had a history of depression, and attempted suicide a few times in the past (I come from an abusive background, both physical and sexual abuse).

I learned that exercise helps burn cortisol (the stress hormone) and causes a release of happy hormones.

My first run was life changing, it had literally been 15 years since I ran. I only went around the block, but when I got home I literally felt high. My mind was clear, the depression and suicidal thoughts were simply gone. I was practically laughing.

I was hooked from that moment, so running became part of my daily routine. I got into the gym through a former manager I used to work with. He invited me to the gym that he goes to at lunchtime, so I went along with him and found I got the same high from weight training as I did from running. So weight training became part of my routine as well. I left the job 7 years ago, but have remained friends with my former Manager, he was a great guy who wanted to see me improve my life.

The reward I get from weight training is different from the reward I get from running; as weight training produces more testosterone, thus my mind is more focused and attentive. After a session in the gym i'm literally high as a kite.

If I am reading a dating profile like that one, back when I was still serious about online dating, I'd see it as someone trying to be cute with their profile. Now as well, I think that's what the person is doing with it.

When you've been through lots of disappointment with online dating, and gave up on taking it seriously a long time ago, it's not so entertaining to read dating profiles anymore. Why? Let me give you an example.

I used to see profiles with long, thoughtful messages from women, women who seemed to honestly be looking for a full life partner -- and the women seemed kind and fair too. I had some good things about me to offer, and I would write to such women, and it never would work out. Typically, I wouldn't even get a response. This is from women with some of the most thoughtful profiles out there -- the ones who put way more work into their profile than the people who try to do the "cute" profiles, like the one in the original post (which still takes some time and thought -- at least it's not a one-sentence or blank profile).

Anyway, if the profiles that seem the most honest, kind, and thoughtful don't write back, most of the time, then the whole thing sooner or later seems pointless to a lot of guys.

By the way, I don't think the women plan it to be this way. I think the people are right who view online dating as simply a system that typically does not favor a large percentage of the men. Whatever the reason one believes for that, that conclusion seems to be the result.

So how fun is reading a profile when you feel like you are shut out of most of the fun of the online dating system, no matter what you do or how hard you tried.
