The worst had been absent for her shifts two weekends in a row, the first time she claimed she had a miscarriage, then the next weekend she claimed she had been to the doctors office about her pregnancy, now right then I knew she was some kind of special stupid to not see the continuity issue with the order of those excuses, so I made her bring in a doctors note, and she did, but it was for only one of the four days, and she had added the other 3 dates herself, in a different colour pen, so I forwarded that to head office and fired her promptly.

The other two were much simpler, I showed each of them footage from the store cameras of people shoplifting on their shifts, and at the same exact times the footage of them at the counter with their feet up staring at their goddamn phones and yet both of them were surprised when I fired them.

Everyone had gotten used to my boss who is a complete pushover with enforcement, but now that I'm in management it ain't going to fly anymore.

I won't lie, I freely admit that I get off on being a boss and getting to fire them.

This thread showed up in /r/all, so I clicked. TheWretchedMass thought women would be protesting over this sex doll thing, so I commented to assure him that I, at least, do not care.

I think the only people opposing sex dolls would be media personalities trying to make a buck off of manufactured controversy.

And yes, I was expanding on what I said earlier. You called it "sour grapes". I've read the story of the fox and the grapes, so I know that is not accurate. I felt like being pedantic. I'm arguing because this is the internet.

In the fox and the grapes, the fox tries all he can to reach the grapes which are on a vine high up in a tree. After trying over and over again to reach them, he just can't jump high enough, and eventually gives up and walks away, declaring the grapes to be sour and that he wouldn't want them anyway.

In this situation/reddit thread, however, it would be more like the grapes themselves are shouting that they are sour because they don't want to be eaten, and one of the grapes worries aloud that the foxes are plotting to get a ladder. Whereas I, a fox, am saying, if the grapes are saying they're sour, that means they have teeth and would eat me from the inside out if I tried to eat them. "Don't worry, little grape, sweet or sour, I have no interest in you."

Then if you wanted to be pedantic you could ask where the sex toys fit in this analogy and I don't know, maybe somehow the grapes grow arms and use their own watering can to water themselves, but while that fits with the notion of men taking care of their own needs, since when do foxes water grapes that that would fit into the story properly of a fox taking care of a grape's needs? At that point I'd have to concede losing to not being able to fully extend the analogy and thus not being able to be as pedantic as I'd like.

But anyway, the point is that I'm not saying that men suck due to me not being able to get one (that would be sour grapes).

I'm not even saying men suck. I'm just saying that a man who thinks women suck (and, as I am a woman, inferring by extension the man thinks *I* suck), isn't someone I'd want to date.

50% of single men in their 40's don't want to date/won't date? Ok. Sure, I'll walk away from the 50% of men who have given up on women. Doesn't mean I'm under any obligation to give up on all men because of it. Are you saying that there are women who feel threatened by these statistics? I'm not.

If a woman was just trying to get dick for herself, there's always tinder, etc. If a woman cared about "the greater good", and wanted to "protest" lack of male interest in women, she'd be better off holding a potluck to get people out of the house and socializing. Someone who has positive experiences with people in a non-dating context is more likely to want to try dating. People buying blow up dolls as a replacement for human companionship is just a symptom of a larger problem of people not being able to stand each other. No one's going to be able to cure that by taking blow up dolls away. It would just aggravate the problem by providing another point of "proof" that women are evil.
