Summary:
Women are aware of the post-wall support systems society has put in place that BB men provide after their carousel is over.
Body:
I was talking to one of my friends about relationships and women in general and he said something profound to me. My friend is a classic beta bux; slightly overweight, reserved, rich kid, and is a nice guy that avoids conflict.
He starts off by saying "yeah /u/crixois my ex-girlfriend in college said she straight up wanted to marry me, she cried so hard when I broke up with her."
A. I don't think she was that heartbroken. B. At most she might have missed her free meal ticket to coattail off of your dad's money. But don't worry there is another one lined up ready to replace you.
After he broke up with her I kid you not TRP he became abstinent I am still unclear whether it is because he is having a hard time finding someone or it is self-imposed. The jury is out but I think we both know what is going on here.
The real gold of the conversation came later when he described the wedding of one of the girls he orbits. During the wedding party she told my friend verbatim, "friend, you are the type of guy that women marry after the first marriage, don't worry though the second time around is always for love".
Translated version: You are too beta for me to consider now but I know who to call when my marriage ends in divorce and I am no longer in my prime.
My jaw dropped when I heard him say that to me. I didn't know whether to laugh or feel sorry for the guy. This girl basically told him he was second best to his face. However, it goes to show that women are quite aware of hypergamy and the wall. She is wasting her good years on Chad and going to have a safety net in my friend. They feel entitled to BB and he is going to catch them when they spin off the carousel. This is reinforced through TV shows, magazines, pop-culture and more.
Conclusion
Don't be my friend. Never be second best. Don't be the one that women go to after their first marriage ends in divorce.
