TRP encourages men to get laid more and tells men not to do things which get in the way of getting laid. So, if you're at home playing video games, you aren't meeting potential partners. If you're masturbating to porn, your desire to go out and get laid is diminished because you're substituting masturbation for sex.

MGTOW doesn't care about getting laid and therefore cares a lot less about what you do with your time. If porn or video games or anything else becomes addictive, you need to deal with it. However, if it isn't getting in your way. If it isn't preventing you from being the best that you can be, who cares? If you want to play a video game or jerk off to unwind at the end of the day, go for it.

This isn't a right/wrong thing. It's a priority thing. If your priority is getting laid, follow TRP's advice. Otherwise, do what the heck you want. It's your life.

TheRedPill. You mean PUA? If that's the case, the PUA are against anything that side tracks you from getting laid. So according to PUA's porn and masturbating take energy away from sexuality. They believe that you should save yourself for a woman. Video games? PUAs don't like anything that is not linked to getting laid. So instead of computer games, they prefer that you lift weights. Or learn dancing. As a PUA your hobbies should be linked to game and getting laid.

PUA lifestyle is a full time job. From where you live, car you drive clothes you wear, everything should be PUA related.

TRP often sees "being alpha"/"improving yourself" as more important as "being happy" or "having fun".

Everyone can live how they want, but i think their approach lacks reasoning.

Bettering yourself only makes sense if the goal is being happy. But each person has different goals, and different interests along the way. For some it is bodybuilding, for some it is knowledge, for others like me simply learning how to enjoy my time the best.

TRPs/PUAs are belittling men who decide to spend their time on something different than chasing women. By constantly pursuing women they put themselves in a choke-hold without even realising it.

MGTOW on the other hand is a highly hedonistic movement that instructs men to value their time and use it for their maximum amount of pleasure and utility instead of donating it to women by working for them through wealth transfer. What you personally enjoy is ultimately your own choice.

I am an endorsed contributor over at TRP and I don't have this view and I know I am not alone. TRP isn't a cult with unified rules, but more like hub for men who've come to the same realizations. It's up to yourself what you do with that knowledge. In fact I regard MGTOW to be a subset or a branch of TRP. You can't be MGTOW without being red pill.

It's always about moderation. Everybody needs some free time and also some time on their own. If you want to spend it playing video games, who cares? It might be better than watching a baseball game, since you at least are not consuming it passively.

The same applies to porn and jerking off. If you need to get rid of your urges, why not beat your meat? If you lack fantasy, why not do it to HD porn? I wank off on a regular basis, I sometimes use pron and sometimes don't, and I also did when I still was in monogamous relationships. Sometimes on a daily basis.

Besides from my higher than average sex-drive, it's a completely different activity than fucking and nobody will shame me for doing it. It also doesn't kill my sex-drive at all, but even sometimes does the opposite.

There are of course also other opinions around, since TRP isn't homogenous as mentioned already, and there are also some /r/nofap guys around as well as videogame haters, but that doesn't mean it's consent or that they even pose the majority.

So spending your time in the basement, jerking and playing 24/7 truly is a waste of time, but a little bit of both now and then, is nothing to despise of in my opinion.

Neither side is right or wrong. It depends entirely on your goals.

Masturbation changes how you act. The whole point of it is to satisfy your sexual urges.

Now, the red pill perspective is that, if you do not satisfy your sexual urges through masturbation, you're more driven to approach and get laid as they're still there, driving you forward. It's pretty damn effective as a lot of peoples motivation is based on sex, both directly and indirectly.

Now, the MGTOW perspective isn't too worried about getting laid. So it's easier just to masturbate to satisfy your sexual desires so you can focus more on whatever you want to.

I'd say that over at TRP, we don't necessarily think that masturbation is bad or anything along those lines. It just satisfies desires that would otherwise drive us to get what we want (sex).

Personally, I'm probably more MGTOW than anything. I'm not particularly fussed about getting in to a relationship or getting laid. I hang out at TRP a lot because much of the information there is incredibly useful no matter what your goals.

Both TRP and MGTOW seem to acknowledge the reality of human sexuality (sexual market value, female hypergamy, etcetc), but remember, for all their talk about "self improvement", the primary goal of TRP is sexual strategy, therefore, they view everything from that lens.

Neither is right or wrong. MGTOW and TRP are not mutually exclusive. Actually they are mutually inclusive because they both require an acknowledgement and acceptance of reality.

Honey badger radio did a show about porn. I only listened to about 15 min of it but the argument was made that porn actually helps empower women by showing you that pleasuring a women is some supreme goal. They worship the female body and pay special attention to the face when the woman orgasms so that becomes the focal point for the viewer. How any guy in there is just basically a floating dildo to pleasure the woman.

Now my thoughts are I don't really want to watch the male be pleasured as that's not interesting to me, I don't like facial scene either for that matter. I personally think is empowering to men because it gives you greater control over you sexual urges and therefore gives women less control as they can't use sex to control you. The only thing I think is confusing is video games. Why is video games listed with porn and masturbation? Video games are just fun things to do, while porn and masturbation are really just...kinda gross. I don't do any of that anymore, mostly because I have a job. When you go to work early in the morning, come home late in the evening, you don't want to do anything.
