I found this subreddit about a week ago and was really excited. I should have known there'd be one, but I'd been hanging out in r/mensrights as a MGTOW, not realizing there was a separate group for it. Than I saw the sidebar. I wrote a hasty, angry comment, then deleted it because it was six in the morning and no one'd see it anyway. Since then I've been trying to think of a better way to say what I want to say.

I was shocked and disgusted to see this subreddit list the first goal of MGTOW as "Limited government". Excuse me? Why isn't "Instilling true self-defined masculinity in men" at the number one spot?

I shouldn't have to ask myself, 'Am I not welcome here if I disagree with some economic idea?'

And I do disagree. I could ramble on about why, but it's unimportant right now. (If you must, we can do it in the comments.) The important thing is that I was under the assumption that MGTOW is about men going their own way, not about libertarianism or anarcho-capitalism or whatever.

I also had this crazy idea that one of the core ideas of MGTOW is boycotting marriage. So why isn't that in the sidebar as a goal either?

It seems to me like this is a sign of a hijacked movement. I don't want to be here if this place is MGTOW+. I've been to the Atheism+ forums and it was one of the most repulsive experiences of my life. And from what I've seen of your frontpage, most of the content is MGTOW, so again, why have the #1 goal be something that's not reflected by the actual content of the subreddit!?

I don't care if people talk about limiting government here. I'm not trying to tell anyone how to run this place. My point is about one thing and one thing only: I look at the sidebar, and I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Put another way, it's also a matter of priorities. Let's fix the things that can be fixed first, and not try to take on the hardest challenge while we're too powerless to affect it. Changing the country's economic system? HOW? How are a handful of internet activists going to do that? Contrast that with how we are already having an impact on society when it comes to marriage. Countless news sources have noticed the "problem" of men not marrying. And even if it's for a variety of reasons, and most of these men may have never heard of marriage, we are in a fantastic strategic position to spread the ultimate blasphemy: that marriage is economic slavery and all men need to say no to it ASAP. I understand that the divorcee doesn't have power to financially castrate her husband without the state's backing. Still, maybe we should try to win this victory which is within our sights first, rather than trying to take the entire system down first. When you are a small hunter with a crossbow, maybe try a coyote before you take on a tiger, hmm?

If this topic has already been discussed to death, then just link me to one of those threads. I fully expect that anyway. Just please, if this is a topic everyone's sick of and I just missed all that, link me to it instead of just downvoting me without a word.

TL,DR: The goal of limiting government ought to be a lesser concern to the greater goal of the best interests of men as men, not the other way around.

P.S. Just so none of you think I'm some kind of feminist infiltrator, let me present some credentials. Mary Koss is an evil cunt who deserves to get raped for every male victim she's kept invisible. Emma Watson's a brainwashed dupe. Anita Sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn deserve every bit of internet hate they get, not for their gender, but for being horrible people. The wage gap has been mythbusted to death. Men have always been the bigger losers under patriarchal systems. Paternal surrender should be legal and debtor's prison for unpaid child support should be illegal. The only way "rape culture" could possibly be true is as it relates to how we ignore, blame and laugh at male victims. White girls as a group complain about cultural appropriation the most and commit it the most. Female college students are some of the safest and most privileged human beings on the planet, and there sure as fuck is no campus rape epidemic. Anyone who tries to tell you what it means to be a "real man" is full of shit. GamerGate fuck yeah! And I'd vote for TheAmazingAtheist for president in a heartbeat.
