I could believe this, the Australian justice system is fucked up badly. The cops, the courts the whole thing is rotten from the core, if you're a man, you stand almost no chance if they cops come after you. They are very, very unwilling to arrest or prosecute women for any kind of domestic violence or mistreatment of men. A mere accusation of wrongdoing against a man is plenty enough to get him arrested and thrown out of his own home, yet complaints to police about the behaviour of women is often laughed out of police stations or men are told to get lost without the police willing to make a report.

I don’t buy this story. For the numbers to line up, he would have been thrown in jail in 2012 at the absolute latest; Facebook bought Instagram in 2012, and “Instagram influencer” (especially the male steroid fitness model types) was absolutely not a thing until about 5 years later.

My bs detector is almost never wrong and this feels like bs.

I feel like this may belong on r/iamverybadass. You don't have to serve papers personally in Australia; they have process servers for that. And if this dude had really talked to his attorney, his attorney would've told him that. There's no need for him (or his dad) to go to the house to serve divorce paperwork personally.

But, supposing it did happen for the sake of argument, if the dude had been studying his stoicism this would've gone differently.

I'ma call bullshit on this fantasy. Instagram launched October 2010. It took a couple years to get the user base it has today. Dad was 70 and is now 80...so, simple maths(80-70=10) says this all happened in the first couple months of Instagram's existence. The dude was an 'influencer' already?
