I would recommend the books Attached, Hold Me Tight, and anything by John Gottman. But this will all be hard to understand theory without actual relationship experience. Hate to break it to you but the only way to learn good relationship skills is to date, have relationships, make mistakes, and learn from them. Having crappy experiences is part of the process and you cannot avoid them. Putting dating off or reading books will not prevent this.

Some of it's just experience, like anything else. You learn how to be a good partner and have healthy relationships from trying things, seeing what works, making mistakes, working through problems. Different people have different preferences just like for anything else, so you learn what works for you by doing it.

But also, remember that romantic and sexual relationships aren't the mystical, complicated things we often make them out to be. At the core, they're relationships like any other: two people who like and care about each other are important parts of each other's lives. There needs to be mutual respect, clear communication, and healthy conflict resolution. Both people need to strike a balance where they work together but also exist as independent individuals.

Above all, remember that in a romantic relationship, your partner is not your opponent, she's your teammate.

Easy. Have standards and have firm boundaries in your relationships. Don't think with your dick. Also, literally no one worth dating will give a fuck, or even know unless you tell them, that you've never had sex before. Particularly if you pick someone who shares your views of sex then the lack of experience won't matter to her at all and will be a plus.

Hey I just want to say that if you by some bad luck run across a bad relationship, just use it as a learning experience. And really, chalk it up to bad luck and that some people are just shitty.

Most of us has had that one friend who borrowed money/things and never returned it.

Has had that one family member who was decent before, but turned into asshole because of inheritance.

Has had that one work colleague who seemed nice but turned out to be was gossiping behind your back.

Has had that one business partner who turned difficult after the start-up started to make money.

Etc...etc...

Basically what everyone else said. Think about what you want. Communicate that to your partner. Make arrangements to give what she wants and for her to give you what you want. If those things are not given then talk more about why it didn't work. Set new requirements. If you are dissatisfied at any time then feel free to leave. Setting boundaries and sticking to them really helps. Don't not reform boundaries but be careful if you do.

Realize that mistakes happen and learn from them. Also, have fun and enjoy what you have. I was in a relationship with a girl for 6 years and then we broke up. I learned some things and she learned some things. We're still friends and I value the time we spent together.
